  1. Any pics to share....? And I'm pleased you all had a great day!! Richard:thumbup1:
  2. Could be mate. And that's great cover story indeed.....! They have gone now; thing is though, without sounding racist, they really stand out around here!! Julia is actually the only person of obvious ethnic origin regularly seen in the village (apart from the staff in the local Indian and Thai restaurants of course). I've taken a note of their reg number and appearance just in case someone gets burgled tonight...:shifty: Richard:ninja:
  3. Nice one Matt!!! Richard:thumbup:
  4. Not a lot if I'm honest - I think Nissan got it right all those years ago; as it still holds its own against many modern cars.... The driving position is great, the seats are still superbly comfortable and all the controls fall naturally to hand. ....But if I'm picky, a V8 would have been nice. A tiptronic 'box for the auto, maybe. Or perhaps a memory function on the seats. The only things (for me) that date the 300zx in comparison to modern equivalant cars, are the lack of today's luxuries such as a multi-media navigation package; or all round parking sensors..... Richard:thumbup:
  5. Honestly!! 15 minutes ago my doorbell rings and there is a Eastern European chap (in a Yodel Hi-Viz jacket) saying "I have a parcel for you sir" But he is empty handed. He walks back to a beaten up 55-plate Transit van to fetch it, but comes back with nothing; and says "sorry sir, give me a few minutes..." Well I was still waiting as I typed this thread - but half way through he banged on my door and says "Mr Hudson...?" I looked down at the parcel and it is addressed to number 23..... I live at number 31 so I pointed to my door number - a bit pissed off at being disturbed. Who are these people???? And FFS, he is still outside now hunting in the back of the van for a parcel that probably isn't mine:huh: HOnestly, if you knock on someone's door at this time of the evening, at least make sure you do actually know what you're supposed to be delivering Richard:shifty:
  6. LOL..... .....Pics Gary; we need pics maty!!! Richard:biggrin:
  7. I'm sorry to hear that Mark - and I'd be just as pissed of as you mate:angry: You've done the right thing getting the police involved - but on what authority did the repo people have to take the car away from you? Sure, the previous owner had a log-book loan secured on it; but they were not collecting the car from him, they took it away from you! So they must have done their homework to see that you were the new registered keeper. And I also believe they would need some kind of court order or warrant to take the car from you. I'd be taking legal advice right now with the view to going after the repo people - talk to the CAB; and check your house insurance policy as you probably have access to legal cover too. If so, it will cover your legal costs in getting your car back - they will probably put you in touch with their recommended solicitors. Good luck mate, Richard:yinyang:
  8. Many happy returns mate!! Richard:clap:
  9. Welcome to the club my friend - and as said, good luck in your bid for the car!! You'll find plenty of help on here; for all things 300zx related and much much more.... Richard:thumbup1:
  10. Lovely!!!! That's a great car mate; and a lot of work has gone into that.... Richard:biggrin:
  11. Cheers buddy; although having spoken to my mum this evening he should be fine. It's his age now; at 77 with a past history of heart problems they don't take any chances. In fact he should be allowed home tomorrow, but all the same I think I'll pop over and see him just to make sure he's alright. Enjoy the show - and please do put up lots of pics mate!! Richard:thumbup1:
  12. Great work Vods..... ......just a shame the organisers moved it back a week this year; as I'm on holiday and cannot make it:sad: Richard:thumbup1:
  13. Have a good one guys.... ....I did not buy an advance stand ticket this year; although I was planning to come along as a visitor...... Until I heard my dad had been taken into hospital yesterday, so I'm off to London in the morning to visit him. Richard
  14. Cool - looks fun mate..... Enjoy! Richard:thumbup:
  15. Looks nasty - but as you say Jeff, it could have been a lot worse!! It's great to see another ZX living on though... I am pleased it's being saved! Richard:thumbup1:
  16. On behalf of the club and committee, I would like to thank all our members who have passed their best wishes and condolences to Barry's wife and family; we will all miss him for sure. The club has sent flowers to Barry's wife to express all our thoughts, I believe they arrived today. RIP Barry, Richard:sad:
  17. LOL - to be honest I sadly missed that Lance!! For one, I was in unfamiliar territory - making my way home from Stourhead "cross country" just for the hell of it, with no sat nav, and I was concentrating on the route..... .....Secondly I was so distracted by seeing another ZX on the road!!! I bet we looked good passing each other though..... Richard:biggrin:
  18. Welcome to the club Sean!!! That's a tidy looking ZX too - good luck with your new purchase my friend; and I look forward to a few more pics when you collect it, Richard:thumbup:
  19. Welcome back to the fold mate - and thanks for your support... Good luck with your project; and I look forward to seeing pics of the finished article, Richard:thumbup1:
  20. LOL - so not mine then.....
  21. Sorry to hear that mate - I hope you get it sorted, Richard:sad:
  22. Agreed - it's good news you noticed and stopped when you did mate. You have a stunning looking ZX there, so if the bodywork is undamaged, then the engine and electrics can easily be replaced. Hopefully you'll get it sorted without too much hassle. I'm pleased to hear you are fine though, Richard:sad:
  23. Cheers Dave - thanks for your continued support mate!! Richard:punk:
  24. Yup - that's the one!!! Good to spot you matey!!! Richard:thumbup:
  25. I bought a brand new Volvo S40 (2.0 TDi) as a company car for one of our surveyors a few years back. Just under 2 years later, he had covered over 140,000 miles and, routine servicing apart, the car only got through 2 sets of tyres (I put the 3rd set on to sell it to another employee; - so it only used 2 sets) and had only 1 change of front brake pads.
