  1. Love the Firebird mate...... .....but love the Z more:wink:
  2. Happy Birthday Lee - I hope you have a great day mate!! Richard:happybday:

If I'd have given it more thought - and not decided on a whim to do Shugborough on the Sunday (and if Julia wasn't working Saturday) - we could have done Zedfest on Saturday, found a hotel between the venues for Saturday night and then continued on to Shugborough for Sunday.... Never mind.....:blushing: Maybe next year!!

Good idea in principle Lee - but sadly I haven't the spare time to attend 2 shows this weekend, each one a good 100 miles+ from my home...
  5. Sorry to hear that Dave - and a tough decision to make. Good luck in whatever you decide mate:clover:

I'm not going either - I've already agreed to go the Shugborough car show on Sunday.... Richard:cowboy:
  7. Yup - I quite liked that too...
  8. Mostly motorway, but still a bit of a mixture..... I filled up at Leigh Delamere (and reset the trip clock) on the way home from Chepstow a couple of Sundays back; then I did 2 local trips to Sainsburys, drove into London (well Chiswick House at the end of the M4) the Sunday before last, then finally last Sunday we went to Sheffield Park in Sussex (M40/M25/M23 and some 30mph A-roads through East Grinstead). On the way back we got stuck in slow M25 traffic for a fair few miles but I made it back to Beaconsfield Services (surprisingly) with the gauge showing empty - the fuel station at Cobham services was shut....:scared: I used about 63 litres between the Leigh Delamere fill up and Beaconsfield 2 weeks later; the trip clock showed 309 miles. And I may have driven with a little more spirit than you intend to Si.... Other than that, I have managed 301 miles between fill-ups on a (very spirited) drive home from Keswick in my old red ZX. That was M6/M6 toll/M42/M40..... Richard:cool2:
  9. I'd have said the wiper gromet.....:sweatdrop: Good luck in finding it Scot! Richard:cool2:
  10. I have had 309 miles from about 63 litres but certainly no more - it's usually 260-285 depending on how much motorway driving I have done..... ....And as for the reserve, assuming a 70 litre tank, but the gauge reading empty/fuel light comes on at the point you need 65 litres, then 5 litres = 20 miles at around 18mpg. It's more likely the light will come on earlier to scare you (I have put as little as 61 litres in from it being apparently empty), so 20 miles should be the minimum you could expect. But don't quote me.... Richard:sweatdrop:
  11. From near empty (red light on) you're looking at around £95 to the top.... I've never had to put more than 65 litres in from memory - so probably 70 litres including the reserve Richard:wink:
  12. LOL - you old dog, Chris, you...... You just saw Brian's comment about his daughter having long legs....
  13. Further than I thought for you then Bri..... Google suggests 2 hours for me (119 miles) - but early on a Sunday morning I know I can be at the NEC in just under an hour from mine, so an hour and a half is reasonable I reckon....
  14. Yup - most likely Bri...... Very common problem indeed:wink:
  15. Cool - something else in common then mate!! And as for your daughter in the back of the Z, I guess I understand; although I'd probably say tough shite, if she wanted to come along.... Or move the passenger seat forward a bit, have her sit on behind you but with her legs to the left behind the passenger seat..... Hell, how far is it from yours to Shugborough.... I'm looking forward to this now - as I reckon I have Julia's approval for this meet - so roll on Sunday I guess!! Richard:dance:
  16. Agreed - we should organise something for next year to celebrate 25 years of the Z32!!! And yup - it is one for our Voddy to start preparing for.... Nothing like plenty of notice (and no pressure) Great idea about the "25 year comemorative plaque" too.... As for the oldest club, in the UK I guess that'd be The Z-Club; they were around catering for the early genre of Z-cars as far back as 1974 or something and have added each incarnation of the car ever since. And if I'm right with the year they started, next year will be their 40th I'm Mr Burns will be on to clarify soon.... Another reason for a joint meet? Richard:cool2:
  17. Brilliant - I look forward to seeing how you get on Dean!! Richard:thumbup:
  18. Ahem....:whistling:
  19. Hello and welcome to the club my friend!! Please do post up some pictures of your ZX - sounds like you have one of the nicest colours - and you've come to the right place if you need help and advice!! Richard:cool2:
  20. Hi and welcome (again), Jason!! Thanks for sharing your photos mate - we like ZX pics on here...
  21. And back to the wildlife...... Here's the whole series....!! Richard:smw:
  22. LOL - just make sure you disable this wild security system first though...... But back to the question. If it's been sitting for a year, give it a full fluid change - oil, coolant, brake fluid and possibly gear oil. I'd probably not bother with PAS oil unless the steering is rough or the HICAS light comes on. Then check the rubber hoses to make sure they're not perished; and that the brake pads are not binding on the discs.... Then drive it gently at first, building up speed as and when you are happy that everything seems in order. Welcome back to Zedding mate!! Richard:cool2:
  23. And the same if it was me too.... Failing that, I like the latest Audi white colour!! Richard:cool:
  24. Many happy returns mate!! Richard:cool2:
