  1. It was certainly a good day out - Si did the club proud in organising the event today!! Thank you Si; I really enjoyed this one; it was great to catch up after a few years - and to meet a few more folks from the forum..... In no particular order.... Yowser PaulZ GregT Rob Hughes Hellraiser Sdriver73 Zairs If I've missed anybody - please accept my apologies - and remind me; as the old grey matter is not what it used to be... I'll upload my pictures (and I suspect there are a few) shortly... Richard:clap:
  2. Nice one Allan...
  3. I would have also suggested the obvious things like tyre pressures (IE they are the same on each side of the car); tyre sizes, tread patterns and make on opposing axles - IE thet thay are also the same. Also when performing a wheel allignment on a 300zx with HICAS, it is VITAL that the steering wheel is dead central when the front wheels point straight ahead. There are sensors in the steering wheel to activate the HICAS; so whilst an "ordinary" car might get away with the steering wheel being slightly off-centre, on a ZX it causes issues! And what about road camber? Have you tried driving on a flat surface like a motorway; as opposed to normal roads around town? All cars will naturally pull to the left on local roads owing to the road surface camber - unless you decide to drive on the right hand side, in which case it will pull to the right:wink: Richard:surrender:
  4. Transport Direct says it should take me 2 hours and 39....... .....maybe in a rancid diesel people carrier it might; but in a fully functioning 300zx, leaving home nice and early, I'd say 1 hour 45.... Richard:hyper:
  5. My Z is all clingfilmed up and ready for the morning...... ......Not convinced the clingfilm will stay in position for the whole journey at speed though - I guess I'll have to wait and see:wink: See you in the morning!! Richard:shuriken:
  6. Welcome back Jim - as Gary says, enjoy the banter mate and I hope to see you in a ZX again soon!! Richard:rockon:
  7. Seconded..... ....As for me, I washed my ZX ready for Sparkford on Sunday!! Richard:rockon:
  8. That is a good idea (the cling film, that is:wink:) but will it stay on at proper "zx" speeds......:innocent:
  9. Congratulations Chris - and you'd better watch that old heart of yours when you're around the Flux babes mate.... Richard:rockon:
  10. Sure is - if there's a chance it could be saved, then save it I say:sad:
  11. Excellent - what a road trip and what great club spirit!! Well done to all involved I say..... Richard:rockon:
  12. Big Jim contacted me a few days ago with regards to his ban; and I am pleased to announce that the committee has approved his return to the forum. So as soon as his account has been reactivated, Jim will be online once more. Now, before anyone says anything, I am mindful of the old "Extrem Imports" saga! So in mitigation, using some of Jim's words himself below, the reason he was originally banned was because people felt he had ripped them off. Jim broke a car for spares, but it was the first time he had done it, and at 22/23 years old, he was probably a bit naive as to the efforts involved! He sold a few things but did tell some people it might take a few weeks to get the parts to them, as he was getting somebody else to strip the car. Unfortunately as time went on, some folk were less happy to wait. To compound the problem, a couple of things turned up damaged - although Jim did try to resolve the issues but struggled to do so. Jim believes that everybody either received their parts or a full refund in the end; however some members lost trust in Jim so he was banned from the forum. Apparently, as a good will gesture, Jim did offer all the parts he had left for free to any members; and remains resolute that he wasn't out to con people. I am also aware that he re-registered under the name Big Jim whilst being banned under another name. But to his credit, in the time he was registered as Big Jim, he did not put a foot wrong and to my knowledge, remained a popular and model member. It is for that reason that the committee has agreed to lift Jim's permanent ban; albeit under certain restrictions. For one, he will not be permitted the benefits of subscribed members - so no trading or PM facilities; and will remain on probation for a period of 6 months. If anyone who previously had unresolved dealings with Jim has a problem with his return, please do not hesitate to contact me in private (by PM or email please; not on the open forum) and I will discuss it with the rest of the committee in respect of our decision to allow Jim's return. Thanks, Richard For the committee

  17. I certainly hope to be there.... I'll wait for your notes as I have no idea where Podimore is... Looks like an early start for me Sunday morning, but that's how I like it when taking the Z out:wink: Am I too late to get on the stand with you chaps - if not my Zed reg number is B5RFS!! Richard:rockon:
  18. Bummer mate - I feel for you and would be thinking the very same thing. Actually I'd also be thinking of the cost because I'm a tight arse, but that's just so frustrating... Richard:flowers:
  19. I've heard nothing but good about the XF mate! Apparently it has won "Executive car of the year" a few times - I'd have one myself TBH; but it would have to be the mental as anything XFR... Richard:thumbup1:
  20. As said in general discussion....., I'm still hoping to get along to this also..... .....Julia is taking part in a sponsored run somwhere for a charity I probably don't know about; and I do not have work on Monday so I could be on for this!! I just need to give the Z a wash tomorrow or Saturday - the front is covered in dead flies from a couple of recent Sunday outings What time is everyone getting there? Richard:shuriken:
  21. Welcome back mate!! That's a nice looking Z you have - love the interior - I recognise it too. Was it advertised for sale on here some time back? Richard:thumbup:
