  1. Agreed...... And agreed.... Back to the OP, wasn't someone after an a/c radiator a while ago....? Sayers maybe? Richard:shuriken:
  2. Crank shaft rear oil seal......? It's probably fine, but you don't want to be taking the 'box out again soon...
  3. Seconded..... .....Hopefully you'll be in that ZX before too long Dan! All the best mate, Richard:flowers:
  4. Welcome back Dave - good to see you're still around mate!! The car looks tidy - and it's great to have an open top in this weather; enjoy!! Richard:rockon:
  5. Agreed Gary - and thanks to Si for posting/organising it!! I'd like to come along to this myself; but just have to check with Julia first, of course.... Richard:rockon:
  6. LOl - agreed and agreed Bri...... Richard:thumbup:
  7. They were from the factory, I believe mate - but some good folks have converted theirs to a TT.... Richard:yes:
  8. Nice one Ian...... .....and I agree with Si and Gary - best rear end mod for a 300zx... Richard:donatello:
  9. Very nice Ian - much better I reckon mate!!.... Dead right there...... Good idea Si - and they'll not look dirty again if they're painted black!! As for polishing the lights, I've not tried Mr Sheen; but I can recommend Autoglym SRP applied with a soft microfibre cloth (not a harsh paper towel, which will actually add scratches!!)... Richard:cool:
  10. I agree Si - I would not want to either......... ....So I'd do what Graham has done and pop it into the existing key hole. I also open the boot with the lever only (mainly as the lock has seized - LOL) but you get the idea!! Richard:yes:
  11. Welcome back Fraser - and good luck with your project mate!! Richard:cool2:
  12. Not long is the answer - as when the thermostat is doing its job, the coolant reaches operating temperature pretty quickly and stays there (about 4/10ths; or just under half way up the stock gauge). It will feel hot under the bonnet after a spirited run - even the inner wings. There's a lot crammed under there - and two turbos will generate a lot of heat which the inner wings will no doubt conduct!! Perfectly normal mate!! As for checking coolant levels - always do it on a cold engine!! The rad should be full and the expansion tank should read half way up the dipstick markings. Don't remove the rad cap on a hot engine - you'll get a face full of hot antifreeze, which isn't nice!!. Although you can remove the rad cap once it's cooled off for an hour - but you may find the level has dropped if it has expanded into the expansion tank. As the engine cools further it will be sucked back into the rad. Best way to check is don't open the rad cap until after a good few hours, when it has cooled down properly!! Richard:wink:
  13. LOL - true, but if it is in the high 20s outside, then I want to keep my a/c on.....
  14. Si's pictures settle the debate more for me than words ever could......
  15. The question for me is, why put such heavy metal objects onto your car's paintwork to take the pics!!!!! Unless the car is a scrapper of course - as surely that would scratch the paint to buggery.... Richard:pinch:
  16. Hi and welcome Jim.... That does look a tidy car mate...... ......Looks like to me as well Joel!! As for the exhaust sound, many aftermarket jobbies (including the Mongoose) do seem to make their presence more "noticable" at around 2000rpm (or 50-60mph); but they are not so intrusive at other speeds. But if it has been de-catted, you can always refit the cats or have small center silencers fabricated in; although that might actually cost you more than a replacement system! Especially as you could sell the Scorpion to part fund it. Richard:cool2:
  17. LOL - and yes!!! Exactly what Pete said for me too..... If you want to paint the fan, do it in something like satin black and then refit the shroud. It is designed to direct the fan's airflow onto the radiator to ensure effective cooling. And whilst some of you will have experienced no cooling issues without the shroud - do remember that in the UK there is always a traffic jam around the corner. Think about this; you have been driving along the motorway for an hour or two, the outside temperature is in the high 20s (it has been recently, we do get a summer sometimes) and suddenly you get stuck in a jam for an hour. That is when you need BOTH fans operating correctly as there will be no airflow from forward motion passing over the radiator and the coolant will get awfully hot if the fan's efficiency is in any way compromised!! And the reason I agreed with satin black? With the shroud in place, the fan will be hard to clean and satin black will not show the dirt so much!! Richard:yes:
  18. Happy birthday Graham - I hope you have a great day mate!!! Richard & Julia...:happybday:
  19. Many happy returns Paul!! Richard:cool2:
  20. Hi and welcome mate!! Richard:flowers:
  21. I don't think I could ever properly retire whilst I am active and healthy..... I'd get bored so easily so I reckon I'd still have to do something!! I'd like to be in the position where I don't actually have to work though; that way whatever you do will never be a chore as you can just walk away if you get pissed off with it. I'm "only" 43 at the mo, I have the prospect of over 20 years work left - but I'd like to be in the aforementioned position by the time I'm 50, just so I could take things easy if I wanted..... We'll see though!! Richard:flowers:
  22. Nice one Alan - good to have you back mate; and good luck with your new venture...... Richard:thumbup1:
  23. In the leather vs cloth debate, for me leather will always win..... ......I love the whole concept, feel, smell and sense of occasion that a leather interior adds to any car journey. Hence I would always try to get leather seats in any car I purchased - hell, I searched for months for one with leather when buying Julia's latest Rav-4 a few years ago... The only downside with leather seats, is when they look scruffy, boy do they look bad!!! Richard:shuriken:
  24. Many happy returns for yesterday!! Richard:rockon:
  25. A belated happy birthday mate!! Richard:rockon:
