Enough with the Audi pictures....... ......But yes; exactly what Simon said... Richard:cool:

What did you do to your zed today?
LOL - tell her it doesn't work Andy...... .....Because, actually, it doesn't!!! So you're certainly better off spending money on things for your ZX, because there is a real (as opposed to a perceived) benefit in doing that:wink: Richard:biggrin:

oil pressure reading
Oh, and to answer your original question - I just bought a brand new OEM sender unit... Luckily Yewcheck was doing a mass purchase from the USA so I managed to save about £25 on the cost (cheers Dave); and JeffTT fitted it for me the next time my car was at his place. And (in reference to my post above) the oil pressure gauge reads bang-on where it is supposed to be at all temperatures and RPM ranges... Richard:cool:

oil pressure reading
Ditto..... There is so much talk about Z32 gauges not being accurate (oil pressure, coolant temperature, turbo boost etc) but I don't believe that is so. It's just that aftermarket gauges are more precise in their readings (IE to the definite PSI, degree or part thereof), hence it gives people the comfort and impression of greater accuracy. However with the OEM gauges, as with any car, they simply indicate that things are running within the manufacturers' tolerances...... If you have modified your engine to produce big BHP (or you partake in regular track sessions), then I agree that the more precise information is vital; but for those running stock or slightly modified engines, why bother? There is no need; so just make sure that the sender units are in good working order and the gauge readings remain within the tolerances listed in your hand-book. Save your money and save yourself the panic of seeing the coolant temperature rise by 1 degree Celsius!!! Richard:wink:

300ZX Pricing - look at Zs - maybe? Hopefully?
Very wise words there Mike; and you are probably right mate!! The Z/ZX cars have a great lineage; and whilst the 350z and 370z are now plentiful and affordable (and their prices can only go down at the moment), their very being "should" promote interest in the past Z cars. So like you say, the tidy, well looked after Z32s will no doubt become more desirable as they get more scarce; thus prices for such cars should command a premium. You only have to look at the cars in the links to that classic car dealership in another thread, to see 2 stock low mileage UK spec Z32s, going for the £5k mark. Overpriced? I don't think so - it's the kind of place we would all like to see prices going; so let's not bemoan the dealer's ambitions to achieve such a sum, but (as a dedicated club) encourage it and continue to promote the Z32 to the true modern classic status it deserves..... Richard:thumbup:

Disappointed again
Maybe mate - but truth is, not many Zeds have come across from Japan in recent years, so many imports have spent quite a few years on British roads themselves now..... .....Hence buying a J-spec car is taking almost the same gamble as buying a UK in the rust stakes...

Coolest garage ever?
Seconded......

never been so fu#@$ing angry!!!!
Or the RAC - both have a free legal assistance service for members.... .....Failing that, what about legal cover on your house insurance? Not to mention the (so called) legal protection you pay for with your car insurance; I know it's still with Admiral, but they sold you the policy so they have to stand by what you paid for and honour the legal expenses if you chose to bring the matter to court!! Hello!!! :) I may be going to the dark side :/
Actually Daz - I don't mind the look of the 3000GT/GTO either. It certainly looks loads better than the Mk4 Soop and (IMO) a bit better than the RX7; but with all those vents and bulges, I reckon the Z32 has aged better, with its clutter free classic wedge shape...... And I too prefer the later fixed headlamp version; especially the TT which was more powerful and had an updated 6-speed gear box. Be vigilant when buying an NA though as I believe a few of them were not actually 4wd; unlike the TT. I'm not sure I'd buy one for the winter though; even if it's a 4wd, there are other cheap 4x4 cars out there that may be a better bet:wink: But it's your choice and as long as you can sell it for what you paid for it, come spring; then you haven't lost anything!! Collected it from the garage this morning with a nice series 2 PTU fitted..... And as it's dry and sunny here, I'm now going to wash (and maybe wax) it....
