Cost of fitting some new shells
My first question to you would be about the state of the rest of the engine mate.... ....If it's done a big mileage, then it's not worth replacing the shells when you might have to replace pistons/rings/top end components in a another thousand miles or so! For me it would be a false economy. Best place to buy is probably Mike at MJP - as for the time and cost of labour, speak to JeffTT or Jimmer. Good luck mate, Richard:cool:

my na's fubar
If it's cutting out when hot; and then starting and running for a while when it cools down, then it's possibly your PTU. That can also cause a rough idle when back up and running - as a duff connection within the unit can prevent a single cylinder firing (which could also give a petrol smell). Happened to me a few weeks ago. Initially the car stalled as I parked it in the garage; but restarted immediately and in I drove. A week later, I took it out and after 20 minutes, it cut out and failed to start once up to temp. It later started once cool, but ran as rough as arseholes; chugging, smokey and smelling of unburned fuel. It would not rev smoothly and then it cut out once more when up to temp. One replacement PTU (series 2 I might add) later, and it's perfect once more!! The puddle issue may just be coincidence - water should eventually just evaporate with the heat of the engine.... Good luck mate; I hope it is something simple like that. Richard:cool:

Crazy Golf
LOL - so you don't like Golfs then Steve.... It does look bloody quick though - and 1100bhp in a Golf is mental. Although looking at the on-road acceleration, is it just me, or do the white lines appear not to be passing by as fast as the speedo whizzes upwards...:shifty: Richard:biggrin:

public service announcement
Nasty - and just before Christmas too:sad: Interesting theory about the brake pedal though - and I fully get the whole "going limp" thing as opposed to tensing up in preparation for impact. Richard

NEW REO required....
Interesting option - ultimately I'd rather have a dedicated REO for London and the SE, but we'll have to see how the SE members react. In the event of a merger, it would make sense that Essex falls into the EA region - but would Sussex (certainly) and Kent (maybe) not be better off with the SC? Also I have to do something with the Thames Valley too - that's near to the SE, SC and Midlands!! I will bear that in mind though mate.... Richard:)

NEW REO required....
Hi SE members, As title, I am on the hunt for a new REO to cover London and the South East. Yassa has not been around for over a year now and his subscription has expired - hence he is no longer eligible to be an REO. If anyone (subscribed) would like the job of organising regional events for this area, please let me know ASAP. If no-one takes up the role by Christmas, I will have to consider merging this area with South Central - calling it "London and the South" or something..... So please folks, this is your region; if you would like to retain it in the current format, please do not let it die!! Thanks, Richard:cool:

Area merge
Hi all NE and Yorkshire members, Some of you (particularly those from South and West Yorkshire) may have noticed a slight change to the local area groups. Following the lack of activity and REO for South and West Yorks, I have merged that area with another to form a larger one now known as "North East and Yorkshire." The REO for the old NE and N Yorks region (Bird - AKA Lee) remains REO, but for the bigger area..... I hope this means that there will be more opportunities for regional meets in 2014 and beyond!! As ever, if anyone has any questions please feel free to contact me or Bird! Cheers! Richard:cool:

New REO for the South West
Nice one Si - I look forward to hearing your plans..... .....And aside from the welcome, you should notice a "new" section of the forum open to you now mate. There's an area for REOs - please let me know if you cannot access it:wink:

New REO and area change!
Hi South West members! I'd like to announce the appointment of a new Regional Events Organizer for your area. Murt has stepped down from Avon, Somerset and Gloucs and Devon & Cornwall has not had an REO for some time. Hence for the short term, I have merged the areas under together as "South West" and it is with pleasure that Vodkashots and I introduce Funkysi (Simon Parsons) as the new REO with immediate effect. On behalf of The Committee, I'd like to thank Murt for all his efforts to date; and congratulate Simon on his new role within the club. Richard Smith Club secretary For The Committee

New REO for the South West
On behalf of the committee, I would like to announce the appointment of Funky Si (Simon Parsons) to the role of REO for the South West area. Murt has vacated the position of REO for Avon/Somerset/Gloucs; and Devon & Cornwall has been without an REO for some considerable time. Hence, for the short term at least, the committee has decided to combine both regions under the banner "The South West." Funky Si expressed an interest in becoming an REO and the committee has given its backing to him taking on this position! So please join me in congratulating Simon on his new role; and in thanking Murt for his past services!! Nice work Si, thanks for stepping up - I'm sure you'll do a great job!! And in the future, if someone from Devon or Cornwall is prepared to become an REO, we could once again split the regions, or have 2 joint SW REOs. If anyone is interested, please drop me a PM..... Richard Smith Club secretary For The Committee

OEM Sony 10 CD Multi Changer in Centre Arm Rest
I have seen these before - but only on JDM cars.... Great if you can actually use it; but so many people have upgraded their head units nowadays and the addition of Bluetooth, SD cards and I-Pod connectivity has made the CD changer a relic of the 1990s... Richard:cool:

Has anyone got an HTC ONE phone?
Not me - but it does get good write-ups and reviews..... .....And I quite like the look of the "mini" version; I do not like the larger phones so I'd never go the regular One, the Galaxy or the I-Phone - they're too big!!! Richard:cool:

Side exit exhaust
Not for me either Bri..... ....But if you do go ahead, then I'm with Tom..... You definitely have to do something about the gaps in the rear bumper left by removing the exhaust!! IMO it looks bad enough when folks fit a single exit jobbie at the back and the other side is left looking like something it "missing".... Richard:cool:
