Hi from Kent!
Hi Graham - and welcome back!! Regarding editing your posts - only subscribed members are able to do that mate:wink: That's an interesting selection of cars you have had there - and good luck in your hunt for a 300zx, should you decide to get one.... Richard:cool:

Jaguar XF HID Conversion
Whatever the letter, or interpretation of the law is, my twopennorth is..... If the dipped beam is an enclosed projector-type unit (like we have on the 300zx) then just do it - chances are, no tester will ever notice; as he cannot see the bulb through the lenses anyway. Secondly, an HID bulb enclosed inside a projector beam will produce the same beam pattern as before - just brighter - so provided they work and are correctly aimed, there should be no problems. But if the headlamp bulbs are directly behind the lenses - so you can see them - then don't. An HID bulb in that kind of application will produce a completely different light pattern to what was originally intended - and will most likely not give any light advantage on the road. Leave that for the for the Saxo boys who chuck in H4 conversion kits, which just produce a hazy blue glare that blinds on-coming traffic - and IMO is bloody dangerous!! Richard:cool:

Hi to all :-) Check out my pics...
Welcome to the club Amit - and good luck in your search for the right 300zx mate.... .....That white ZX is a nice example - and I love the interior - but for me it would also have to be the grey TT that Gary highlighted!! Richard:cool:

Possible area changes
Good points Si - and thanks for the text; you have another PM.... Speak soon mate:wink: Richard:cool:

Are timing belts the same
All cam belts for the Z32 are the same; TT to NA, regardless of year.... .....And as said many times on here, ALWAYS buy a Nissan OEM belt - give Mike at MJP a call (see traders section). Richard:cool:

Artztogo seen you Chris
Excellent - I've seen it in the flesh too Mark; it's a credit to you mate!! Richard:cool:

Big Thanks to JeffTT!!!
Yup - and yup!! Richard:cool:

Speaker upgrade
Mark is right; the exact fitment is indeed an odd size..... .....But there are still some manufacturers that make a 6 inch speaker!! I bought a pair of Fusion CS FR6020 speakers a year ago - they bolt straight in with no modification whatsoever... That said, mark's door pods look pretty good!! Richard:cool:

new owner , hopefuly :)
Nice one Adrian - good luck with your new toy mate!! Richard:cool:

Summer oils?
10w40 semi-synth is what Nissan originally specified mate; so unless you're running big power, there's no reason to change.... ...Although oil technology has moved on since 1990, so a fully synthetic will offer better stability at higher temperatures. Most readily available fully synthetics tend to be 5w40 - but still a suitable upgrade. This is a reasonable choice.... http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-68977-shell-helix-hx7-10w-40-synthetic-technology-premium-engine-oil.aspx Richard:cool:

Who is in South Central...
You're dead right Gary - but that is just it mate!! There simply aren't enough people willing to step up to the plate, unfortunately... That, and as the car gets more rare; or members sell up and move on, it sometimes leaves a void in certain areas of the country. The TV region is a case in point. It was set up as an experiment a few years ago - and it worked for a while but has since died a death - hence I'm thinking of merging it back into either the SE or SC; where there are more members and (hopefully) more regional events. Possible area changes
Hi Avon, Somerset and Gloucester members, I want to let you all know that I have been looking at some possible area changes this weekend. I am considering merging some lesser patronised and represented areas, with others that are (perhaps) more active - in the effort to try and encourage more regional meets. Consequently your area has come to my attention as you have been without an active REO since Murt sold up and effectively "left" his the position. It is a similar situation in Devon and Cornwall, where they have not had an REO at all for some time. I am thinking of merging the two areas under the heading "South West" and would like to gauge your thoughts - and whether anyone would like to take on the role of REO for the new "South West" area; and given the size of the new area, 2 joint REOs would be equally acceptable. Let me know what you all think. Hopefully we can improve things for everyone's benefit, moving into 2014!! Richard:flowers:

Hi SC members, Just to let you all know, I have been looking at some possible area changes this weekend. I am considering merging some lesser patronised and represented areas, with others that are more active - in the effort to try and encourage more regional meets. I'll not say anymore until I have spoken properly with your REO, Howard, but watch this space. Hopefully we can improve things for everyone's benefit, moving into 2014!! Richard:flowers:

New Lambo.....
Yup - thing is, auto-boxes have come a long way in recent years. And with modern traffic conditions (and I'm not just saying that because I'm getting old:lol:), but an auto-box really is the way to go with cars today. BMW, Merc and VAG all make such good auto boxes, that in general, the autos are faster than their equivalent manual counterparts. And with their manual "mode" coupled with the paddle-shifters occasionally fitted, at least you can have a "manual" involvement if you want. Although having used it a few times on the SLK, I have to say, the car can do it way faster than me..... Its 305 horses can pull it from 0-100 in 12.2 just by stamping on the loud pedal - that's over 2 seconds quicker than a stock ZX TT manual... Richard:)

a massive thanks to jimmer
Top work as ever Jimmer.... .....And yes - definitely (on both counts)... Richard:cool:

New Lambo.....
So did I Gaz - and I certainly love the "new" one..... Traditional Porsche front end, with a touch of Aston Vantage at the profile and rear. I'd certainly have one of those over a 911.....

New Lambo.....
....No, not for me; but the replacement for the Gallardo.... http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/lamborghini/gallardo/84904/lamborghini-gallardo-replacement-called-huracan?_mout=1&utm_campaign=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_source=newsletter Looks nice...

Is this serious?
My thoughts too; as Znut says, it's most likely condensation..... ....But if you want peace of mind, like Mark suggests, check your coolant for oil traces as well. If the car is not overheating or losing fluids, there's nothing to worry about!! Just clean the oil-cap and drive your ZX over a few longer journeys!! Richard:cool:

Media player
Can you play it via your PC - and connect the PC to the TV with an HDMI or VGA cable?
-
windows info
Try JeffTT or Mark Derby mate - failing that, Baz might also be able to help you:wink: If you have broken your window, then it's probably cheaper to claim on your windscreen insurance. They will have to source the OEM Nissan part to match the existing windows - whatever the cost - leaving you with just your window excess to pay..... Richard:cool:

Wide arch wheels
Very nice..... ....But as you say, with such a deep dish, you'll certainly need flared arched wings to accommodate those rears!! Richard:cool:
-
Wtf!
Me too.....

new owner , hopefuly :)
Hi and welcome Adrian - that looks like a tidy car for the money..... ....But as Gary says, you need to check it over thoroughly before you buy!! I don't personally know the car, but we have a few members in Sussex who might be able to meet you there to take a look. One of our moderators, Sussex Stu, is down that way.... Richard:cool:

Red Lyon Christmas meet
We are on the case Steve - nothing has been declared publically yet there are still loads of issues under discussion between the committee and the NEOs/REOs. We also brought Lexx on board as another NEO, precisely because we have bigger plans for events; not just next year but beyond. We are going to have a dedicated event; as none of us wants to see the anniversary celebrations tacked onto JAE, Zedfest. Japfest or any other existing event. Although naturally those events will also feature a level of anniversary celebrations as well; not just for the Z32's 25th, but 2014 is also 45 years of the Z full stop - the 240z appeared in 1969!! We are also producing 25th anniversary commemorative stickers - and may even enlist the members' help by way of a design competition; but more of that later. If you want to help out, it will be gladly accepted; your local REO has naturally been enlisted so far.... Richard:cool:
