Finally getting painted
I'll bring my camera Graham..... .....Time to change your signature pic now mate - although I see you have amended the wording...

What did you do to your zed today?
What he said...

Hands up I just been cleaning your Z
Nice work Chris..... I cleaned mine 2 weeks ago, when the sun came out, and have left it in the garage since; just to make sure it stayed that way for tomorrow. I didn't fancy the last minute rush - plus I didn't know the weather would remain fine for all this time!!

Choosing a short shifter
Whilst I do have an auto ZX, I did drive a manual or two when first looking to buy.... ....All I can add is that I understand where Si is coming from. I may (like many of us) be a bit 300zx biased, but it is a fundamental certainty that Nissan got most things on the Z32 right, straight from the box, 25 years ago. I've had a 300zx for 11 years now - and in that time I have had newer, premium branded daily drivers - right up to my latest (superb) new toy - but the Z has always been able to hold its own against them all...!! Monumental cock-up, hugely pissed off - I might miss Coventry!! :(
It always does buddy!! Chill out this evening with a glass of wine or two, compose your thoughts and have a calm and rational chat with the body shop guys first thing in the morning. Hopefully you can sort something out for the least inconvenience to you - which may just allow you to pop along to Coventry; but if not, at least you can go away next week knowing your Zed is safely stowed away somewhere dry until the work is done! Good luck Si.....:clover:

dangerous water temperatures
Yup - what Mike says.....

Monumental cock-up, hugely pissed off - I might miss Coventry!! :(
That is a damn shame Si - I was looking forward to catching up:sad: But Steve does have a slight point - granted, it's not their fault - but they took on the job of getting your car sorted; and no doubt knew there was some reliance on 3rd parties to sort such issues as re-fitting glass etc. So now, seeing as you're the customer, paying handsomely for a top notch paint job, how can they now turn around and say you have to remove your car (knowing full well it is not finished and water-tight) by tomorrow as they have other jobs in. Mate, even if this was the best damn spray shop IN THE WORLD, I'd not pay them a penny of my money with them having an attitude like that! Your car is clearly not finished; nor worthy of being removed from their premises in consideration of the potential weekend weather conditions. At the very least, they need to find somewhere dry and secure to store your car until they can finish off all the bits to your complete satisfaction. You're the customer and, whilst the windscreen company has let everyone down, they are nonetheless a business too and understand that things do not always go to plan. Hence, if not just for the £££s you are handing over, they should have some contingency plan in reserve..... Richard:clover:

Chemical Guys Jet Seal paint sealant
As title - anyone tried it? I have heard some good things about it, so I bought a bottle...... I'll give all the cars a coat of it over the next few weeks and see how it goes! Richard:cool:

Newb - Drooling over z32s
Welcome to the club Garth! Richard:cool:

So last night....
Maybe? Maybe it's simply because of peoples' basic deep rooted beliefs in [a] religion, that all ghosts and sprits are fundamentally evil; therefore the only way to counter that is with "good" That's the bit I question - the God and Devil aspect. The mediaeval attitude that anything questioning all that Christians hold as holy is heresy; and therefore must be evil and attributed to Satan! If there are such manifestations as ghosts and spirits, then any psychic, practicing witch etc is surely just as qualified for the job as a priest! And surely not all spirits are evil and need exorcising.... All my opinion of course - I will keep an open mind pending further credible evidence either way. Plus it's time for my bed:wink: See you Saturday mate!
-
So last night....
I was referring to the religious element, not what may or may not have been exorcised..... Hence my comment that any evidence supporting the truth behind many structured religions is probably less credible than that for the existence of ghosts etc:wink: So I'll not disagree with your comment; what was exorcised may have been real, but IMO the religious bit of the process is mumbo jumbo. In my personal opinion, IE why does it specifically require a minister, priest, etc, to exorcise a spirit?

So last night....
That's the one Steve - we always stay in Boscastle when we're in Cornwall and have visited the museum many times over the years
-
So last night....
Ghost hunter extraordinaire Jeff, to be sure.... Sounds the most plausible explanation to me as well. I have personally never seen a ghost but I won't dismiss their existence, since there are plenty of alleged sightings over the centuries to suggest there might be something in it. I met a really interesting fellow at our hotel in Cornwall last month - an author and president of the ghost club - he's a nice chap, well into his 90s now, but on our last day, he handed us a signed, dedicated copy of one of his books! I'm reading it with interest at the moment... And if you do think there might be ghostly activity in your house, forget the priest/exorcist or whatever - that's just religious mumbo-jumbo and, whilst I respect what religion means to most people, the purported "facts" behind most structured religions are no more (but probably less in fact) credible than the existence of ghosts, UFOs et al. Just get yourself a spirit house for the "ghost" to live in.... Saw the idea in the Museum of Witchcraft....

Finally getting painted
Heh heh..... Seriously; it's looking really good Graham - can't wait to see it on Saturday mate!! Just watch out for those clumsy fat b@stards in their shabby MPVs on the ferry, make sure they don't fling their doors open onto your nicely prepped car... Richard:cool:

What did you do to your zed today?
It would be great to see you AND the car there Si - but don't rush it my friend... You want to make sure you are 100% happy this time; my suggestion, is leave the body shop to work at their own pace and get it done to your complete satisfaction, however much longer it takes. Don't kill yourself re-assembling everything if they do finish it tomorrow, you'll only go and scratch it somewhere or something worse.... Leave the Z where it is, get in your DD and drive up as a guest as opposed to exhibitor. There's always Beaulieau or - if they are holding it again in Sept - that Rare Breeds show at the Haynes Museum!! Richard:cool:
-
What did you do to your zed today?
Yes and yes....!! The colour of Si's car certainly looks better in the second set of pictures.... Much more like it....

Front of my Z
Agreed..... Richard:cool:

dangerous water temperatures
Whilst it sounds high, we are experiencing high ambient temperatures at the moment; so I would expect higher readings on the temp gauge. Especially when stationary.. Many modern high performance cars run naturally at closer to 100 degrees; so, whilst a 300zx is not so modern, I think we worry a bit too much sometimes. These engines are tougher than you think!

25th Anniversary meet - Action required
Good to hear Mandy - hell, even if we might have thought about possibly filling your place, I'd have made sure there was space for you and Zebedee.... I am so pleased you can make it and look forward to seeing you there!!! Richard:dance:
