  1. We have 2 traders on here; supported by the club and recommended by our members.... They are JeffTT (Zedworld) near Birmingham and Jimmer (Powerzed) near Bristol!
  2. Got to be worth it though.... When it comes to specialist works on these cars, you can't be too careful; whilst a decent local garage can do the routine oil and filter changes, fluids, brakes etc, you really have to get your car to Jeff or Jimmer for anything more complex!
  3. Pricey maybe - but the knuckles on those Bosch ones are not nearly so large and ugly as they are on the cheaper versions.....
  4. He's in the Bristol area mate....
  5. Looking good though Gray..... Richard:thumbup:
  6. That's good news mate..... And, as you live in Somerset, how about getting yourself to Jimmer's place to make sure it's done properly!! But always go OEM for such crucial components - I remember Jeff posting a thread comparing the OEM water pump to an aftermarket one a few years ago. Differences were amazing - particularly the size of the impeller. Considering how vital cooling is to a VG30DETT, the impeller on the aftermarket one was noticeably smaller than the Nissan part!! Richard:cool:
  7. Cheers Gaz - all done now and back home as good as new! Bloody good job the guy did too:thumbup:
  8. Nice work Gaz....
  9. Nice one Mandy - thanks for your continued support....
  10. Agreed - on both counts..... .....And coincidentally Josh lives in Redcar too......
  11. The geographic location of Parliament should make no difference on a tiny island like ours.... Each country has it's administrative centre in its capital city - which is part and parcel of why it became the capital city over the centuries. France is far bigger than the UK, but there are no problems with it being governed from Paris in the (relative) north of the country - and France has different regions which were like independent fiefdoms back in the day. Canada and Australia are larger still; yet there are no issues with them being governed from Ottowa or Canberra respectively. The USA works on similar basis to the UK; central government in Washington but with each state having its own laws and (sub) administrative centre - here we have London, but Wales, Scotland and NI each have their own devolved centres of administration in their respective capitals too. Scotland already makes many of its own laws - and did so before Brother Blair devolved power to the individual assemblies back in 1999......
  12. Exactly mate..... They have one either side of the entrance. Now someone fit and strong could just about shift them further back - and into the centre of their drive (effectively blocking their entry); whereas someone quite old-ish (like the owners may well be, given the impression I get from looking at the house) would not have the strength... I would guess.....
  13. It's a "smart" repair as opposed to a full panel respray - he's just painting a small area approx. 20x10cms. And he's very local to me - no call out fee as I'll drop it at his house Saturday morning....
  14. Welcome to the club Joseph!! Richard:cool:
  15. Welcome to the club mate! And yes; what Lee said above - imports only have front fogs, a rear must be fitted retrospectively for MOT/legal reasons in the UK; and on a separate switch with a "tell tail" light to show they're on. Hence the OEM fog light switch should only work the front fogs - which are wired into a relay to come on only when the regular lights are on; not completely on their own.... Richard:cool:
  16. 'Fraid so mate... It's not too bad - about 4 scuff lines in the underside section of the rear bumper just behind the wheel. You can't see it when looking at the car from "normal" height, but you can from wheel level; plus I know it's there..... I have got a good smart repairer on the case though, it's an easy section to mask off and re-touch owing to the contours of the bumper. £75 for cash, being done Saturday.....
  17. Bloody hell - it's miles out, since you mentioned it....!!!
  18. Driving along a tight single lane road this morning (as I do every morning) I was confronted by an over-sized truck coming the other way, in the darkness of the tree canopy, with no lights on.... Sure enough, it's a pain in the arse itself - as the truck was clearly too big to use this road (signs at either end) - but at least he was driving considerately and pulled to the side in effort to let me pass. However, there was no way I'd have passed without scraping the side of my car against the bushes to my left - so not an option for me! Instead, remembering there was a driveway a few yards back, I reversed toward it. Only to find out the hard way, that the f***ing c**ts who live in the house had placed 2 boulders in their drive. It was dark, the boulders were below the scope of my parking sensors so I only realised they were there when I felt the crunch - and ended up scraping the rear bumper of my new SLK. Why do that - FFS, you live on a single lane stretch of road; it's bleeding obvious that your drive will have to be used as a passing bay sometimes so why be such c***s about it:mad: And before anyone says, "at least it wasn't your Z" well, as the lesser of two evils, I'd rather it had been; that's 20 years old so the odd scuff repair is acceptable now!! But ideally, it should not have happened at all - these fookers need to be shown the error of their ways.....:death: Richard:no:
  19. Seconded.....
  20. Don't believe all Alex Salmond says mate - the oil, I believe is extracted mostly by BP (B for British); and let's not forget where the investment in the infrastructure to drill for it came from. So if Scotland truly wants to go independent, then what if BP takes its investment back to [what's left of] Britain etc? Good luck folks - and they'll be no need to turn off the lights when you leave the UK as they'll most certainly go off of their own accord when the power runs out... Seriously though; I don't worry about this issue myself - however all I know is that all the 4 constituents of the UK, whilst they have their regional pride and differences, are certainly a formidable force together and it would be sad to tear apart such a strong 307 year old union. As for Alex Salmond, IMO he is taking the stance for independence, not for the good of the Scottish people, but form himself. So that he can be a fully fledged head of state. Just as David Cameron says, this is not like a general election; wherein you can change things in 5 years time - this would be irreversible.... Think about that, when you go to the polls!!
  21. Ahhhh..... That explains why I saw a couple of Lancasters flying over the Solent on Sunday. I was on the 13.20 IoW ferry from Yarmouth to Lymington when they passed... around 13.30-ish!! Richard:thumbup:
  22. LOL - looks like it's made from balsa wood....
  23. Welcome Si..... ....And I'm sure someone will respond to you re Japfest Finale... Richard:cool:
