Just to take this back on topic for the benefit of Pig - the thread starter..... This matter is being watched by the committee - and DKB, whatever you might say in your defence, the fact is Pig has paid for an item he is yet to receive. You claim to have posted out another set of shocks - which sounds admirable since it would leave you out of pocket - but in the event of no other evidence to the contrary, Pig remains the victim here. Not to mention the question raised by other members regarding back door trading..... I mean, why would a regular member happen to have another set of shocks to sell? That issue aside, as said previously, what happens outside the forum is of no relevance here - but a trade gone bad, conducted on this forum IS our business. Gary has warned you regarding your aggression towards the innocent buyer - so instead of going on the attack (or defence for that matter) just do the right thing. Make 100% sure Pig receives his purchase - however many sets you *may have to* send out - or refund his money right away. Simples. Richard

Winter has arrived in Scotland
Sorry to see that mate - but luckily it just looks mildly cosmetic; I hope you get things fixed up. And it's nice the other driver is not making a claim too - so often today the less scrupulous will bang in a whiplash claim before getting home!! Good warning on cheap or worn tyres too - remember folks, those 4 little patches of rubber are all that connect you to the road. You may save a few £££s, but decent tyres will save your life one day - I know what I'd do.... Top man mate - and great club spirit!!! I did have a red nose panel too but threw it away only a month ago....

Well said...... .....and good call for starting the thread Gary. Richard

NEC Classic Car Show 2014
CLUB ANNOUNCEMENT!!! Many of you might already know, but next weekend (14th to 16th November) hails this years Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show at the NEC in Birmingham. And to continue the celebration, that is 25 years of these fine cars, this club has secured a small stand at the show!!! It has all been organised at short notice - and being a small stand we will only have 3 cars on display - but damn fine cars they will be!! Roobarb, Funky Si and JoelyP have very kindly agreed to put their Zeds on the stage to represent this club and raise the profile of the Nissan 300zx.... They, along Craig, Groover and I, will also be manning the stand at various shifts over the weekend; so if anyone is planning to attend, please feel free to drop by and say hello!! Discounted club tickets are available - however to comply with the organisers' rules on publishing the discount code, we can only show it in the subscribed members' section. For more information, please visit the following link! http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?179345-Important-announcement-NEC-Classic-Motorshow For non-subscribed members, the official show website is: http://www.necclassicmotorshow.com/

Goes without say matey..... I probably will be though...

Ongoing poor brakes
Mate, my point was that posts like "300zx brakes are crap" does not help toe OP who is looking for a solution. Z32 brakes were certainly not crap when the car was new; and stopping distances were more than comparable to similar performance cars of the time - including the Supra Mk3 and 4, Mitsi 3000gt, Porsche 944/968/928 and more. Sure, big brake upgrades will be a major benefit; but for someone not willing or able to spend £1000 on an upgrade, you can achieve very good results by fitting (professionally) refurb'ed callipers from the likes of Bigg Red etc. and aftermarket OEM replacement discs/pads made by Brembo for less than £500 all in. I agree that braking systems have moved on in 25 years - but the OEM set up, IF working as Nissan intended is more than up to the job of hauling the car to a stop; even when compared to similar powered/weighted high performance cars today. Maybe you have just had a bad experience with yours - as many members drive modern high performance cars too - so are more than qualified to say that not all ZX brakes are rubbish in comparison! Nice work Bodymech - as ever...

Ongoing poor brakes
Sorry Dan - but that is just rubbish! I currently have a 15 month old SLK350 AMG Sport and the brakes are excellent..... But the brakes on my ZX are pretty comparable to be honest.... So don't think you can tell me that I have never driven a car with "proper performance brakes" as I have owned more than my fair share of new high performance machinery. As said before, most 300zx brakes are just worn/tired/knackered. When new and working properly, the ZX brakes are just fine. FACT! I have driven ZXs with tired and worn callipers so I understand why you'd think that - but the OEM set up, if not worn to buggery after hauling a 1600kg car to a halt for the last 20+ years, is actually very good when in proper working order!
