  1. That is a sad loss indeed. Terry Wogan was an institution - one of the true TV greats... RIP Sir Terry, you will be missed.
  2. I'd agree with that though - again, depending on the quality of their work.....
  3. My tuppence worth.... £600 sounds expensive - I guess the painter is not confident of his work!! I have a TK3 blue Zed - and have had some paintwork done over the years. I have used 2 different body shops and both did a superb job of matching the colours. Last summer, I had both my front wings replaced (I supplied the parts, the garage did the removal and re-fitting); I had a large dent repaired in the rear OS wing and a scuff repaired in the rear bumper. I also had the rust on the OSR wheel arch removed - they cut out the old section and welded in a new panel I bought from MJP. They painted the rear OS wing, driver's door and both the replacement front wings. They also had dent-buster remove the dings from the driver's door. All that came to £900 in labour and paint! I'd find someone else to do your bumper mate...
  4. Sounds good....... ......Seconded....
  5. LOL - that'd be the swear filter then..... And just [don't] try typing that well known town in North Lincolnshire.... But back on topic, there are not many folks called Algernon, Egbert or Cuthbert these days.... ....And as for parents who didn't give enough thought to the names they gave their kids.... I knew a couple of the surname Ball who had twin boys - they named them Terrance and Horace. So Terry Ball and Horry Ball....!! A friend of mine worked with a chap called Dick Ramsbottom.... And let's not forget poor old Richard Head or Wayne Kerr......

  7. It is indeed sad to see its production end. The Defender is an iconic vehicle; which has earned its place in the motoring hall of fame.... But citing emissions standards due in 2020 - really? In the Defender's 67 years of production, it certainly has not continued with the same engine!! Pop in the new JLR 2.0TDi Ingenuim engine from the latest Disco Sport, Evoque and XE and I'm sure it could be tweaked to deliver the same "go anywhere" capability it always had, but with the same green credentials as a modern car. It is just progress - time catches up with everyone and everything in the end.... Hopefully the replacement will be a worthy successor - and at least it won't be wearing lederhosen!!

  13. Ah well, all these red zeds start to look that same these days..... Must be getting old and senile... Richard:biggrin:
  14. Hi and welcome Stewart! That car does indeed look familiar...... ......I think it might have passed through JaiKai's hands at some point - and it formerly belonged to a chap from South Wales; whose name I forget..... Richard:cool:
  15. Many happy returnZZZZZ Richard:happybday:
  16. Many happy returns Sandy! Richard:happybday:
  17. Thanks for the heads up mate!
  18. No - it's thicker mate. The second number is the oil's ability to withstand shearing at high temperatures - it's the "40" bit that counts at operating temperature. And a "40" grade is what Nissan recommended (as in 10w40 or 5w40). A "30" grade will be too thin once up to full temp! The first number is the oil's ability to circulate from cold - the lower the number, the quicker it will get round the engine from start up until warm. In the UK, a "10w" will be just fine, as our winters are not severely cold.
  19. Agreed - probably the best front end mod IMO.....:bow:
  20. Yup - what he said.... 99-spec is another favourite, but I'm not sure it works on the SWB
  21. No worries mate - that's why I suggested you might want to take advantage of the "services to members" section before taking the full trader's plunge:cool:
  22. That's nice work there mate...... ......You are certainly going to get a few requests over the ensuing months! Naturally it's too early to think about being a fully fledged trader - but you might be interested in this facility - if you want to see how things go... http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/forumdisplay.php?166-Services-to-Members-(by-members) Richard:cool:
  23. Seconded...
  24. Agreed...... .....But he hasn't disappeared; he got himself a sex change and appeared on "The Apprentice"..... http://metro.co.uk/2015/10/28/ruth-less-the-apprentice-fans-are-upset-ruth-whiteley-has-been-fired-5468075/ Sorry Daz - if you're reading this - just jesting matey.....
