'Evening all, Just bringing this to the top again, as we may need a reserve car for the show. Whilst this is a big commitment - your car will have to be on the stand from Thursday morning, right through to Sunday evening without moving - you don't necessarily have to be there all the time in person. But you can if you want..... We already have a couple of volunteers to man the stand (thank you guys - you unsung heroes know who you are 😉). We have a house booked from Wednesday, if you do want to stay for the duration - the cost will be shared between everyone attending, so it won't cost you £££s Come on folks; we have some great Zeds in the club - and this is a brilliant opportunity to have your car on display at one of the most prestigious shows in the UK. You'll enjoy it, trust me 🙂 Richard

Hi and welcome to the club - and I second what JP said..... 😉 I'm still a Mercedes fan at heart and will always love the old school coupes and roadsters. I had a selection of SLKs as daily drivers over the years - my last being an SLC43AMG, which I had from 2016 until I jumped over to the dark side and bought a BMW during lockdown LOL.... I remained a member of the MB owners club until 2023, so kept my interest alive reading the Gazette each month!

Don't give up hope yet Lee..... You have your unit now, so may be able to perform the engine swap in time. Confirmed exhibitors are Johnno & Tom. Sadly Andrew cannot make it this year (we'll miss you greatly sir - especially your enthusiasm and interaction with visitors). JP yet to confirm - and I'm waiting on Ian to advise if he can assist with the stand.... And of course bring one of his Zeds along too 😉 So we're still on the lookout for back-up exhibitors, if anyone is interested 🙂

Thus far we have had the following offer to display: Johnno Tom Andrew Joel With Lee hoping to bring along his Zed, but still coming to man the stand anyway..... I took my Zed on another little trip to the Isle of Wight a couple of weeks ago, which just happened to coincide with the IoW classic car show. Whilst I didn't participate, I did visit the show on Sunday 8th and met up with Groover that afternoon... Suffice to say, there were a few exhibitors staying on for a few days after the show, so there were one or two classic cars milling around at various attractions that week. Like this rather nice Stag at Appuldurcombe House. Any excuse to share a couple of Zed pics LOL 😉

Nothing today - but yesterday, I took my Zed out early for the Sainsbury's run and then went for a little drive in the autumn sunshine.....

As it's still raining, I may just go out into the garage and fit the PTU now..... 🤔

I received my little Z1 order this week...... I bought a brand new PTU and harness - I had to instal my "spare" one back in Feb, so thought I'd best get a replacement.... Also thought it's time to get another oil pressure sender, the current one has started to behave intermittently.... I then ordered a new harness and gaiter to go with it. But I didn't stop there - I bought a new internal O-ring and gasket for the oil filter tree.... I thought, why not replace the lot at the next oil change? I also thought it was time to reinstate the Nissan badge, but they only had the replica - albeit attached the the Fairlady Z logo.... Shopping on Z1's site is so addictive - or is it just that I have a problem LOL And if anyone wants the Fairlady Z part of the badge (free of charge, naturally), please drop me a PM and I'll post it to you 😉
