Baston Car & Bike Show - Sunday 30th June
Hi all, I got sent this link yesterday - looks like a decent show. It's on Sunday 30th June at Grimsthorpe Castle, in Lincolnshire - about 20 miles north of Peterborough. It's probably too late to organise a club stand, but we can still get Pole Position Parking for ยฃ10. I'd be up for this - anyone else....? Craig, or Pastor J, maybe, as it's in your necks of the woods ๐ Baston Car & Bike Show - Sunday 30th June 2024 (bastoncarshow.com)

Ozzie
Hi Ozzie - and welcome to the club! The best Zed mechanic there is, is Jimmer at Powerzed - but he's 100 miles from you, just off j18 of the M4 near Bath. It's a long way, but most of us make the trip there once a year ๐ Not starting could be anything from fuel delivery to an ignition fault - there are many electrical senders, sensors etc.... Whereabouts in London are you? Richard

NEC 2024 - volunteers needed
Good day folks, I am pleased to announce that The Club has once again been accepted to exhibit at the NEC Classic Motor Show this November. Classic Motor Show | The UK's Premier Classic Motor Event (necclassicmotorshow.com) It runs from Friday 8th November to Sunday 10th November..... Our stand is in hall 4 - number 4-595 - coincidentally, the same as last year! It's 6m x 12m, so we can accommodate 4 cars comfortably; the exact plans will be determined nearer the time. But for now, I am looking for volunteers to exhibit. It's always a great show and you'll get to have your car on display to thousands of visitors - but it's a full-on weekend. You have to deliver your car there at a fixed time on the Thursday morning, the day before, and you won't get to leave until late Sunday evening after all the visitors have departed. Ideally, we'd like you to remain there and help man the stand for the duration - but shifts can be organised, just like we have done in previous years..... I appreciate it is a big commitment - but you will have the privilege of exhibiting your Zed on the world stage, in one of the very best classic car shows of the year - and everyone who has exhibited, has thoroughly enjoyed the experience! We also have an Air BnB booked for participants about 15 minutes from the venue. We are still debating on whether the club will contribute towards the accommodation costs this year, but for now, we need volunteers..... If you are interested in exhibiting your car, please register your interest in this thread. We need 4 cars, plus one in reserve. Once we have enough interest, we'll put it to the vote in order to select the top 4 and go from there. I know there are some great Zeds, both inside and outside the club - and we will be reaching out on our FB pages - but I would like to extend the privilege of exhibiting to fully subscribed members only. So if you are interested, but are currently not a subbed member, you know what to do....... ๐ Ideally, we'd like to represent each style on the stand - LWB, SWB, convertible and modified.... But ultimately it's the members' choice - providing we get the volunteers! Thanks for your support, Richard

I agree, the thick-end of ยฃ30k is a lot..... But it is nice to see an unmolested UK-spec manual with under 43,000 on the clock ๐ฎ

Yup - same here, constant 20 degrees.... Although if it gets too cold, I might turn it up to 21 LOL ๐

Looking really good Raj.....! And you can't beat having a Zed with working A/C ๐ Although my advice - don't just whack it on in traffic, or when you get hot, leave it on all the time; I do. It's lack of use that will eventually cause the gas to escape into the ether. Jim fixed mine over five years ago and it's still blowing out icy cold air whatever the weather.

What did you do to your zed today?
Nothing today, as the weather was a mixed bag. But yesterday, I did this..... ๐
