  1. Popped into my local body shop to discuss the bumper repairs..... ......And booked it in for Tuesday May 7th. I'm just awaiting the verdict from Admiral's engineers now - they have accepted liability on the third party's behalf, so they just need to agree the repair costs.
  2. Nice one Chris - look forward to seeing you and your Zed later in the year mate!!
  3. You'll enjoy it mate. I love the Island, it still retains its "Old-England" charm, no matter how many years pass by..... We're going back in September - by strange coincidence, they have a two day classic car show, the weekend we arrive 😉 I am going to message the organisers to enquire about participating - who knows, I may be able to get us a club display area for a handful of Zeds!
  4. Then finally back to Yarmouth and onto the ferry home....
  5. Also saw a raven in the wild, for the first time - I've only ever seen them in captivity (or at The Tower of London) before... He was probably a juvenile, given his size - and quite tame too, most probably on the look-out for food, as it was near a beach cafe LOL
  6. Saw a nice old P4 Rover at The Spyglass Inn, in Ventnor - my Dad used to have one of these..... 🙂
  7. A few more Zed pics, this time from my camera...........
  8. Many happy returns Craig - hope you have a great day mate!! Richard & Julia 🍻
  9. Nothing today (yet) as we're heading out to our local village food festival..... But yesterday, I gave my Zed a good wash, as it got a little grubby after the IoW trip. Oh, and I took some pics for the insurance company's engineers. It'd be rude not to share a couple 😉
  10. Last Saturday, Julia, The Zed and I took a little trip over to the Isle of Wight for a few days.... The weather wasn't too bad - it only rained as we were leaving..... We got given a good spot on the ferry both ways and our hotel was empty apart from us, so my Zed also had the whole car park to itself 😄 The Zed attracted quite a bit of attention too - when we arrived at Lymington Ferry Port a young lad of about 10, out with his dad, was really taken with the car. He knew exactly what is was and asked if he could take some pictures. Then two guys in the car behind us in the queue got out to admire the Zed. And then when we were parked in Seaview on Monday, a group of young guys passing by stopped their car and got out to look around it too!! We also met up with an old forum friend - Groover (Graham) and his wife Julie. He still has his yellow Zed, although it's been off the road a few years now. He does have a couple of donor Zeds, so hopefully will get his car up and running when he gets some time 😉 So the important bit - some gratuitous Zed pics; albeit thy are from my phone, until I upload the ones from my camera later this weekend........😎
  11. Great tip mate, thanks - I have just ordered a set of these, definitely handy to have around the garage 🙂
  12. Hi and welcome to the club Aubrey....! Very nice looking Zed you have there - and I definitely like your colour choice. Nice alternative to the stock Nissan blue😍
  13. The Committee would like to wish all the club's members and their families a VERY HAPPY EASTER 2024!! Enjoy the long weekend folks - and get out in those Zeds......
  14. Yup - sure does.....! Now the car is a little dirty, you'd never notice the damage 😉
  15. I reported it to Admiral on Friday evening - and fortunately she is also insured with Admiral, so it should not be too arduous... Hopefully!
  16. Ouch!! Fortunately I had all my sills and lower panels replaced back in 2018 - all is clean below the bumper 😉
  17. I didn't mate - I am sad to admit, I almost lost it with the women driving the Focus.... I got out of the car calm(ish) enough but when she accused me of braking too hard, I really let rip.... I only backed off when she finally apologised.
  18. Crashed.... 😞 Someone managed to drive into the back of my Zed this afternoon.... They were a little too quick pulling off a roundabout. Still, the damage is only superficial - just a rear bumper respray and a tiny dent below the NS back light, so the area between the bumper and light will need painting too. Their car came off worse - but the main thing is, no-one was hurt.
  19. Happy birthday Lee - hope you have a great day mate!! Richard😎
  20. I have always been a big fan of Chemical Guys products - after our former forum valeter, Peach, recommended Jet Seal. So much so, it's still my go-to paint sealant today. I always give the cars an annual coat or two in the spring - and then lay a wax over the top. Well, I tried their Blazing Banana spray wax a few weeks ago - and I'm pleased to say, it is also brilliant. It's not a proper long lasting wax, by any means - but more of a top-up after washing, or as a last-step-protection product. I think this is definitely better than Auto Finesse Glisten, my previous post-wash spray. I have no pics of my Zed after using it (yet), but here's the daily driver. These were taken when I got it back from BMW's body shop, after I had already laid on two coats of the aforementioned Jet Seal. I washed it a week later, then gave it a quick once-over with the Blazing Banana.......
  21. To all our members from The Emerald Isle, a very happy St Patrick's Day....! Enjoy the craic.....🍺
  22. Nice......😎 ......................But you could have hoovered the footwell before taking the "after" shot... 😄
  23. Many happy returns Joel - have a great day mate!
