  1. On Monday my local garage MOT'd my Zed, replaced the front brake discs and pads, plus an oil service - so with a fresh Nissan filter and a sump filled with Shell's finest, my Zed is all ready for the New Year...... .......So as today is Julia's birthday - and the sun was shining - we took the Zed on a little trip to Waterperry, near Oxford. It was nice to blow the cobwebs out on the M40 there - and ease in the new brakes on the country lanes, on the way home 🙂
  2. Today, I renewed my road tax and took the Zed on a little trip to Waterperry - near Oxford.....
  3. On 28th January 1994 L26VOY (as it was known then) was first registered..... So today my Zed hits the grand old age of 30.......! Happy Birthday B5RFS, is "he" is known today....🤩 Seems like a good excuse to share some gratuitous Zed pictures 😉
  4. LOL - no, just coincidence. I do quite like a white sports car/coupe, but I still prefer blue as it's the fastest colour.... 😄
  5. The same dealer also has a rather nice looking, low mileage, Mk3 Supra Turbo for sale..... 1991 TOYOTA SUPRA TURBO Petrol | eBay I always liked the Mk3, having owned two of them before I bought a Zed 😉 Again, no current MOT though - having expired in April 2021!!
  6. Just spotted this UK-spec for sale on Ebay - looks like a tidy example. No current MOT though - it expired in May 2023......... 1994 NISSAN 300 ZX TARGA TURBO Petrol | eBay
  7. Thanks Gary - and yes.... It was not difficult, just fiddly, much like everything on a Zed LOL One needs small agile hands, not sausage fingers; plus the agility to and natural flexibility to squeeze into tiny spaces. I seem to remember someone saying, some tasks are like painting your hall way through the letterbox 😄
  8. Yesterday, I replaced my fuel flap/boot release cable....! The little plastic retainer which gets bolted to the sill (circled) along with the release lever had snapped - possibly a delayed result of fatigue following the sill restoration work back in 2018. Luckily I had a brand new Nissan part, still in the original bag, in my garage! So I had some fun removing the interior trim, tracing the original cable and running the new one through. All done now though, I have the scratched hands to prove it LOL!!!
  9. I am pleased to report that I have fixed the issue..... The little plastic fastener had broken at the release lever. Luckily I had a brand new Nissan part sitting in my garage 😉
  10. Many happy returns Dave - have a great day mate!!
  11. Many happy returns Howard - have a great day mate! Richard🤩
  12. Many happy returns Gary - hope you have a great day mate!! Richard🤩
  13. Thanks Craig! I have played with a few settings and re-set some defaults on the laptop and it's working fine this morning. I might take the laptop into work tomorrow for our IT guru to clean up - I don't want to replace it as it's otherwise OK. Andy, I checked the processor and I already have a core i7 Intel.....
  14. LOL - might be worth doing that 😄 Thing is, I can cope with the 30 meg, it's more than adequate for my needs. It's just odd that the laptop seems to sap the speed out of my home network, my iPhone is fine, so too are the tablets.
  15. ...Just done an online post-code checker - all providers can only estimate max speeds of "between 20 and 40 meg" for my area!
  16. Thanks Andy, 30 meg is about as fast as we can get here, it's a rural area, apparently lacking in the infrastructure for anything better at the mo! I do get the 30 meg though, when testing on my phone, but as soon as I fire up the laptop, the speed drops to almost nothing. Must be the laptop I guess - perhaps time for a new one 😉
  17. Hi folks, I know we have a few IT techies here, so I have a question about internet speed. My internet has been fine for many years with BT, circa 30Mbps download speed, which is probably the best I can get in my area. However recently I have been struggling to access this forum via the web on my laptop. I had BT on the phone yesterday, we reset my hub many times, and each time, it cured the problem, but only for about 10 minutes. We both put the issue down to the hub and BT is sending me a new one tomorrow..... But, what if the issue is my laptop and not the hub? Seems I still get 30 meg when I do the speed test on my iPhone (when connected to my wifi). But, when I connect the laptop to the wifi, the download speed drops to barely 3 meg - again as tested on my 'phone for a direct comparison. Disconnecting the laptop again, my phone records 30 meg, connecting the laptop and my phone records 3 meg??? Time for a new laptop - or is there a way to speed things up on the laptop once more? Any [sensible, LOL] suggestions gratefully received 😉
  18. The lever to release the fuel flap and open the boot has ceased to work properly.... I can no longer release the fuel flap, nor will the boot shut properly - any ideas? Could the cable have stretched or got stuck on something - and how easy do you reckon it is to fix. I do have a spare brand new cable if need be, but I have my MOT on Monday and the tester will need to access the fuel cap 😞 I guess I could pre-open the flap by pulling the cable lever behind the near side tail light - luckily I don't need petrol just yet LOL!!
  19. Today I took my Zed out of the garage for the first time in 5 weeks and went on a little drive..... I have my car booked in for an oil change, new brakes and MOT on Monday, so thought it would be a good idea to warm it up properly 😉 I stopped in Halfords, High Wycombe and happened to meet a fellow Zed owner called Jason - he's not a member (yet) so I recommended the club to him!
  20. Hi and welcome to the club Panos...... .....And yes, Tom is dead right there 😉
  21. Nice one Rob - look forward to seeing you there again mate! Is your dad coming too.....?
  22. Tickets now booked 😎
  23. Thanks Tom...! I will be attending this one - it's only 20 minutes from me, so I'm happy to organise meeting up and driving to the event together 🙂
  24. Agreed - and like Tom, my ballasts and wiring are also hidden behind the nose panel.... So the wires into the light unit look totally stock 😉
  25. A belated happy birthday mate!
