  1. Tested the wood ramps tonight, works great, loads of room to crawl underneath. (Pic enclosed) Cant wait to try them out hopefully this weekend fitting the Tension Rods I bought from Simon. Thanks John
  2. Just built a set of wood car ramps, low slope, 60" long, 10" rise. 5 pieces of 2" thick x 9" wide wood, each one 9" shorter than the one below it. Cost £33 in wood.
  3. What did it cost Pete ? John
  4. I have seen some of the nice body kit parts on the Zcentre page. Is something like a rear spoiler easily installed ? How is it fitted, is it bonded on ? Do you then mask around it and have it sprayed ? Thanks John
  5. Willie, Yes, Im sure the other side will follow. In hindsight, I suppose I should have gone with poly bushes. What is the purpose of the silicon fluid inside ? There is nother inside that rotates, or does a cavity filled with silicon inside make the joint a bit more flexible ? Thanks John
  6. Fantastic!! Thanks Mate..........looks great!!!!!!! John
  7. Thanks Mate.............pic being sent now John
  8. Thanks Andy, I decided to just do the one side that is leaking, with the genuine Nissan bush at the moment. Thanks again, John
  9. I guess I will forget it..........even a 14k jpg (which was rejected cause it was too big) looks cr*p John
  10. I took a digi picture of my car to use as an avatar, in Photoshop I have shrunk it down to 34 x 25 pixels, a resolution of 10 pixels per inch and its still 13k in size. How in the world will I get it to the required 5k max ? John
  11. Thanks Simmo, If I had know you had a couple of rods a week or 2 ago I might have been interested. By the way, how much for the pair ? John
  12. Thanks, then that will be my job for next saturday morning, get it off the car, take it to the garage before they close at 12, wait while they do it, have it back on the car by 10am. Thanks John
  13. How much time should I allow for removing one tension rod ? I am replacing the drivers side one. I bought the Nissan bushing from Mike F and need to figure out how much time to allow to remove it and get it to the garage that can press out the old one and press the new one in Thanks John
  14. Im so dumb...........I should have looked at the earlier posts (including my own) this post is refering to the plastic 'gutters' at the base of the winsdcreen, I did mine, I did take them off and sanded them, primed and painted them, looks good. Somehow I thought this was about the thin ones on the pillars and above the door, etc..........I must have been half asleep or half drunk!!!!!! Sorry for the confusion John
  15. Yes, they are not expensive, but does anyone know how to fit them ? And do they look right ? Sometimes stuff like this has a habit of not going back right. Thanks John
  16. Yes Andy, but the entire circuit is gone. I am looking for a complete new defroster. Thanks John
  17. My recently purchased zed had a crap back window defroster, visibility was poor due to tiny blisters, sort of similar to the appearance of orange peel. I had to remove the film by scraping off the film with a razor blade. In doing so a lot of the Nissan defroster element (jap cars have a stuck on defroster) was removed or damaged. Does anyone know if there are any companies that can install a new stuck on defroster that will look good ? or know where I can buy a good one to install myself. It does seem outrageous to replace the back window just because of the defroster. Thanks John
  18. Bob, My cheap subwoofer with built in amp did not have a built in relay so I had to add one. It only had the 2 speaker outs, a ground and a live. John
  19. I would have thought you should install a relay, attached to the subwoofer and wired to the battery direct, and activated by the electric aerial signal. Thats what I did with mine, relay cost about £1.50 and about 25mm cube in size. John
  20. Attached is a pic of it closed. John
  21. Hi, Attached is a pic of it open.... John
  22. Thanks Jeff, I guess I will have to look around for an engineering firm in Derby to press it out and fit the new one. John
  23. Has anyone ever fitted a new Nissan bushing to the tension rod ? I understand its a hell of an interference fit, and requires a heavy duty press. I was wondering if warming the tension rod end (not to hot to damage the seal or silicon in the bush) and freezing the bush might make allow it to be installed using a hefty bench vise. Thanks John
  24. Thanks Jeff, Can you actually see the rubber around the bearing, without removing any parts? Thanks John
