  1. Just fitted a pair of low beam (H3) bulbs I got from the States, less than £8 (for the pair) including air freight, even in the daylight they are miles better than the Bosch Xenon I fitted about a month ago. I got them off EBay John
  2. Thanks Andy for the detailed procedure, will do it New Years Day, its supposed to warm up by then. Thanks John
  3. Thanks Andy..............Is that considered high pressure ? Does not seem like its very high. Will most fuel line tubing do the job then? Thanks John
  4. Thanks Mac, Thats a lot lower pressure than I thought. I looked on the internet to try and get some idea of the requirement......one company was listing their fuel injector type hose with a rated burst strength of 750 psi. Regards John
  5. Eventually I will get the braided ones, they look great. In the meantime, if I replace mine with standard fuel line, what pressure should I be looking at ? One local motor factors said he has line that is rated up to 150 psi, is that enough ? Thanks John
  6. I am going to replace the fuel lines in the engine bay, what inside diameter is the tubing ? I will see if my local Blueprint dealer has braided tubing, if not I will buy the standard rubber variety. Thanks John
  7. I switched from an MR2 to a ZED this summer, and Im glad I did. The MR2 is a nice car, but the ZED is a much better car, more solid, (heavy) and if you drive long distances, a much more comfortable car. John
  8. Stuart, do they improve enough to justify the expense ? John
  9. I did see an improvement when I bought a pair of H3 Bosch Xenon bulbs from Halfords, about £16 a pair if I remember correctly. John
  10. I have a Toad alarm on my car, I have had the car 7 months and not a single problem. I think Toad are one of the leaders in the car alarm buisiness. John

Stuart, My petrol cap hisses when I unscrew it, is it supposed to ? Thanks John
  12. I have cleaned the throttle bodies, the idle speed is not very erratic, sometimes it just does not want to go down to 700, stays at 1000, and then, may eventually go to 700 John
  13. Andy, how do you get at the feed tube to the idle valve to clean it? What do you have to undo to get to spray some carb cleaner in it? I am having trouble finding it on mine. I see a small pipe connecting to the passenger side throttle bodies, then it disappears around the side, underneath other stuff, I cannot see anything at the back to undo (to spray with carb cleaner) Thanks John
  14. 50% of some light = more light Stuart I found the xenon bulbs to be worth making the minor mods. Plus they are cheaper than the Jap 2 prong ones, makes sense to change in my opinion. Cheers John
  15. Geoff....yes they do, but being as zed low beams suck, it is advisable to get higher powered one , you can get 50% brighter xenon bulbs (H3's to fit UK zeds or modded ones) for about £6 to £8 each) these you can get on the internet or from Halfords. John
  16. Thanks for clearing that up Andy, will give it a try over Xmas holidays. Thanks John
  17. I cannot see how you can solder a conection to the body of the bulb, even if you scrape some of the plating off. If you do a search you will find a way to simply ground the headlight assembly on an existing screw - the other end of the wire has a spade terminal that plugs into the vacant part of the headlamp plug. John
  18. Problem is WillieO, that sometimes it is idleing at 700, so I dont want to lower the idle speed, I am just trying to get it to idle consistantly at 700. Thanks John
  19. Thanks everyone...........Will do it this weekend. Regards John
  20. Thanks Stuart.............fantastic Regards John
  21. Over the months I have read loads of replies from people suggesting checking the electrical contacts of loads of different areas, most of them I have not a clue where they are or what they do. It would be so helpfull to myself and others who are new to Zeds if someone could post a photo of the engine bay with arrows pointing to all of these contacts and switches and contacts that should be checked once in a while for corrosion. Does anyone have such a photo, or could make one up. It would be much appreciated by myself (and lots of others I imagine) Thanks John
  22. I have cleaned the throttle bodies, but sometimes my idle speed (engine completely warmed up) does not fall to its normal 700 rpm. Instead it stays at about 1000, sometimes falling to 700 or 800 if the traffic lights stay on red for a long time. Has anyone got any suggestions? Thanks John
  23. Thanks Nick, I will give a try tomorrow. Regards, John
  24. Nick, Sometimes I can smell petrol when mine is running, I checked all the hoses, all seemed ok. You mentioned the temperature sensor switch contact, Where abouts is it.......maybe mine needs cleaning. Thanks John
  25. In general, how often should the PCV valves be changed? John
