  1. Mines a 92, seatbelts in the doors, sack cloth upholstery......label on seatbelts confirms its a 92. John
  2. Vijay, Yes, I know they will straighten it out........Have not heard from them yet, but they are 6 hours behind us. John
  3. Actually James, I forgot to ask them if it was in stock, but they gave me a tracking number, so, unless they gave me someone elses tracking number, it was shipped. (to Illinois) Ah well, Im sure they will sort it out. Thanks John
  4. Do Courtesy make many shipping mistakes ? I placed my first order a week ago (by phone), so last friday I e-mailed them to ask if it had been shipped, they e-mailed back with a tracking number, which I traced on UPS website........I was delivered to some address in Illinois!! It could be they gave me the wrong tracking number, I have e-mailed them and asked them to sort it out. John
  5. Oh thats right....I was not thinking, Mine must be a Import with some sort of conversion as it does not have a boost gauge. I think I need to take it off and see what the problem is, if it turns out that the odometer is fooked then I will contact you to see if you still have the cluster. Thanks John
  6. Andy, My previous car, an MR2 had a sticker on the speedo face, but the odometer was still in km. Does the fact that my odometer records miles means that a full conversion was done. Another thought......could someone just have repplaced the entire cluster with a UK cluster ? If that was the case, and I replace the odometer with a km one, I would be recording now in km ?? Richard, I guess I need to do a bit more research before I buy yours. Thanks for everyones help. John
  7. Richard, not know how these km to miles conversions work, (do they replace the whole cluster or stick some device in to convert?) would putting your odometer in mine cause it to record in km? Thanks John
  8. Andy, Is there a special grease for poly bushes ? I was always led to believe that "plastic" type materials and grease are not too compatible, and, I thought polyethylene type materials needed no lubrication. Thanks John
  9. Thanks David, Did you use type of spray contact cleaner that Maplin or RS components sell ? Where do you spray it ? all over the cogs ? anywhere else ? Do you reckon about 4 hours to do the job ? Thanks John
  10. Thanks Richard, To be honest, I dont know whats involved in switching clusters, I have only had my car about 8 months, when I bought it it had already been switched to mph (speedo and odometer) If I knew more about how they convert the odometer to miles, I would know if there would be any possibility of putting parts off yours into mine. When they change the imports over, do they just put in a whole new cluster? If advice from others indicate that there are parts on yours that will fix mine (while maintaining odometer reading in miles ??) how much do you want for the cluster ? Thanks, John
  11. Thanks Andy, Yes, both have packed up........I guess I am going to have to take it all apart, maybe this weekend, its supposed to get a bit warmer from Monday on. Cheers, John
  12. A while ago I had an intermittent odometer problem, I got some great advice from my post. Now it appears to have packed up completely. A search reveals that it is quite common to have intermittent stoppages of the odometer. Do you think that because mine has packed up completely its more than just dirt in the cogs? How long do you reckon the whole job takes ? In Andy's post he mentioned he had to grind the heads off the Jap security screws..........will I need to do that just to clean the cogs ? Thanks, John
  13. Yas, Its a bit far from you, but I heard there is a good place in Nottingham that does 4 wheel alignment, I am calling them in the morning to get mine booked in. The 4 Wheel Lignment Centre Church View Industrial Estate Church Street Old Basford Nottingham 0115-9420843 John

I thought it was 1992......I could be wrong though. John
  15. Thats a good question Yas, I have been to place that say they can do 4 wheel alignment, and when you question them as to whether they can adjust the rears, they so no, but we adjust the front in relation to the back........is that all thay needs doing to a zed ? John
  16. What grade and brand spark plugs are recommended for my 1992 Jap N/A auto ? My car is stock, except for the K & N Induction Kit, so I am just looking for a standard (platinum I guess) plug, and where is the cheapest place to get them. Thanks John
  17. Your explanation does make sense Alex, your excessive wheel movement, was this with the car jacked up and by grabbing to top and bottom of the tyre and trying to push and pull ? If so that will be the first thing I check this weekend. Cheers John
  18. Alex, I will let you know how it works out this weekend. I am not convinced that a creaking of the upper link arm bushes means that they are loose and that there is play in them. I may be wrong but I have a hard time thinking that a loose bushing would creak, would'nt it be more likely to "clunk"? And, if lubrication cures the creaking, does'nt that indicate that something is actually a tight "dry" joint ? Thanks John
  19. Thanks everyone......some very helpfull information. I have the Halfords rubber & plastic spray, which I will use in all the areas recommended by Jack, and get some of the white lithium grease for the tension rod bolts from Halfords tomorrow. Thanks again, John
  20. Thanks Vijay, I read your link to the previous posts, I'm still confused I must admit. Is the white grease for the bolt that goes through the centre of the poly bush? What is white grease? and where can I get it? Was the Halfords silicone spray in the yellow can mainly for the Nissan rubber bushes? Will it do any good on the poly ones? Thanks John
  21. Vijay, I have the tension rods with the poly bushes, they dont need any form of lubrication do they? Thanks John
  22. Who is Middlehurst ? Do you have a link or an address? Thanks John
  23. I am trying to identify an annoying "creak" from the front drivers side. Previous posts indicate it could be the upper link arm. Is the ultimate test jacking the car up and trying to rock the wheel from top to bottom ? Can the link arm still be responsible for the creak even if there is no play ? How hard are the bushes to install ? Do you need a press or can it be done in a heavy duty vise? Thanks John
  24. Ok, Thanks James, and Jon I was just wondering about Courtesy's service, sounds like there is a bit of money to be saved buying from them, expecially with the current exchange rate. Thanks John
