  1. I did not notice it when I bought the car, but part of the rear window glass of my 300zx has small 'bubbles' within the laminated glass, which does affect visibility. I guess there is not way to get rid of it is there ? How much is a new rear window for a 300zx import ? Thanks John
  2. Thanks Andy, I'm off to find a competant wheel alignment place now John
  3. Thanks again Paul, I should have known better than to ask Kwik Fit Cheers John
  4. I just came from Kwik Fit, I went to have the front tracking done, his chart list a UK 300zx having toe -out (no listing for import): the 300zx manual on cd (from Zcenter) list it as 0 - 2 mm TOE IN. Which is it ? Mine is an import, 1992 non turbo. Thanks John
  5. Thanks Paul, I off now to get them balanced, and have the alignment checked. But would I feel this through the steering wheel if they were out ? Cheers, John
  6. My newley aquired 1992 N/A 399zx import seams to have vibration felt in the seat back, worse I think around 60 mph. seams a bit more than my old MR2. The engine is very smooth, no vibration or juddering from the steering wheel. Is this normal for a 300zx ? Thanks John
  7. Van, Nope, not me....... regards, (one of the many) John Dixon
  8. Hi John, I could not get 'John Dixon' when I registered a couple of days ago, so I reversed them. John Dixon
  9. HI, After having my ZX for 2 days now, Im looking to improve the sound system. The previous owner had cut away part of the twin unit console to make room for a big Panasonic VX999MD radio, cd/md player. Its one of those about 5" high chrome jobs, sounds great, but would look better in a 1955 Caddillac than in a all black ZX dash. There is not even a trim to go around it, I guess because the front swings up and out to access the Mini Disk. Anyway, I guess I can live with that (for the time being) but I want to add a subwoofer/amplifier, like one of those "tube" jobs. Whats the best way to wire it up? One I looked at only has 2 wires to got to the rear speakers and a 12V plus and minus. That means its on all the time ? Anyone got any tips/suggestions ? Thanks, John
  10. Robtor, will your parts fit a Japanese 1992 non turbo (auto box) car ? How much do you want for them ? John
  11. I agree Geoff, I bought the 300ZX from a dealer, but the previous owners name is still on the vehicle registration. I have sent a letter off today to him asking him if he ever had the cam belt changed. I fugure he would have nothing to gain by lying, so if he says its been changed, it should be good enough. John
  12. Thanks Jock, I may attempt it myself after I carefully read the instructions John
  13. Thanks for your replies. Jock, is a cam belt change something that could be done in a weekend? I am reasonably mechanically inclined (I rebuilt a 1968 Corvette engine...but back then there were not miles of pollution equipment and gizmos to contend with.) John
  14. Found it james........thanks John
  15. James, I dont know what I could be doing wrong, but I dont have a links button at the top of the page ? John
  16. Having just bought my first 300zx, (import, non turbo) 1992 with 53,000 miles, I am wondering when it would be due for its first cam belt change (assuming it has not had one) and what would be an average cost. Thanks John
  17. Hi everyone, I just bought a 1992 (import, non-turbo) 300zx, and would like to get my hands on a manual/or CD. I am prepared to pay for it, can anyone tell me where to get it. I look forward to exchanging valuable information on this forum. Thanks, John
