  1. Ammar, OZ Saturns.......thats what is says on E-Bay Thanks John
  2. Thanks everyone...........you have convinced me! I have just located a pair of Goodyear Eagle F1's at a tyre place about 8 miles from me. Balanced, fitted for £102 each, thats a damm good price isnt it ? John
  3. Thanks Stuart, Now I have to weigh up if they are worth £350 (alloys and tyres with 5/6 mm tread left) Minor curb scuffs on 2 of the rims though Regards John
  4. Hi The owner of the alloys assures me that they are a universal bore diameter and will fit the 300zx. Offset he said is 40mm. Will these tyres be ok on a zed ....FRONT WHEELS ARE 8.5X17 AND REARS ARE 10X17. FRONT TYRES ARE 235 45 17 AND REARS ARE 255 40 17. TYRES ARE MATCHING FULDA EXTREMOS. The 235 fronts and 255 rears are larger than my standard 225's, whats the implications of using these larger tyres ? Also, what is the '8.5' fronts and '10' rears refer too ? Thanks John
  5. Thanks everyone, Too bad about the bore size, looks like a nice set of OZ alloys. The seller reckons they will fit a 300zx. He advertises them as 'Supra/Nissan/RX7' I suppose its possible that OZ made them with the larger bore to fit all 3 cars ? Anyone know what the minimum bore size should be ? Thanks John
  6. Tony I took the paint off down to the plastic, I guess thats why I need the primer. Will try again, this time with primer John
  7. Mac Yeah, I know what you mean. A car dealer always gives the the bullshit that because its not stock its not worth as much. (even though he will still try to sell it for more than a stock one) But to an enthusiast, a car like yours will be worth loads more than a stock one, and lets face it, if you decided to sell it, I'm sure there would be loads of enthusiasts standing in line to buy yours. John
  8. Thanks Jock I was trying to do it the lazy way without primer......I should know better John
  9. Hi, Im not having much success painting the scuttle trims (the wide ones at the base of the windscreen) the paint just not seam to 'take', no matter how clean i get it, in parts of the the paint simply 'runs away' giving the 'orange peel' effect. Anyone got any tips ? Thanks John
  10. Dave Thanks for that advice. Would the centre bore problem also be present in 17" rims ? Offsets, one reply to my post said '35' is this mm ? or did he mean 3.5" ? Thanks John
  11. Hi Mac, Just been checking out your car pics, that is one absolutely fantastic car. Every detail looks true perfection, I especially like the details in the engine bay. The hours (and money) that you have obviously invested in your car have been well worth it. Happy, safe motoring Mac. John
  12. I dont mind paying about £100 per tyre, fitted and balanced John
  13. Thanks Paul Sounds great, I shall have to go. Are there any cheap places nearby to sleep for the night ?...(sleep off all that nice cold lager) Cheers John
  14. Ooops...... They are listed as fitting a Supra, RX7 Thanks James
  15. Will these alloys and tyres fit my 300zx ? any problems ? FRONT WHEELS ARE 8.5X17 AND REARS ARE 10X17. FRONT TYRES ARE 235 45 17 AND REARS ARE 255 40 17. TYRES ARE MATCHING FULDA EXTREMOS. Thanks John
  16. I did not say I was going to put shit tyres on it, but there are better all round tyres than the F1's. Lets face it, you dont drive every day, going to work, going to spermarket, as if your on the race track, get real. Michelin, pirelli's or Continental's are much more practical. John

  18. I did not trust myself spraying the paint on (bit too much of a breeze today) so I masked off the areas, sprayed some paint into a jar, and brushed it on, brush marks dissapear, dries smooth and shiny. Looks great John
  19. Matty I GOT IT FROM HALFORDS JOHN
  20. Thanks Grant, I bought the Plasti-cote yesterday, I will have a bash at it right now, its not windy out now, and with some masking, should be great John
  21. Can someone point me to a link that describes what Billing is all about, can you buy things there, opening times, etc. Thanks John
  22. Thanks everyone I think I will stay clear of Eagles, I want my tyres to last more than 6 months John
  23. Which is a good all round tyre, (one with good wearing also) and does anyone know the cheapest place in the Midlands (not too far from Derby) to get them. Thanks John
  24. Grant, When you used 'back to black' on the trim strips, did you remove the strips to paint them ? If so, how do you get them off ? John
