trim on T-top & down windscreen
Armour All should work well, in fact, Vijay's suggestion of peanut oil does make sense, the sun has bleached the carbon black (pigment) out of the plastic, many types of oil will darken the colour. Probably will have to be re-applied several times in the summer months, but well worth it. Had Armour All been used when new maybe the strips would be perfect today. John

trim on T-top & down windscreen
I just realised..... back to black is that tyre blackener, I had some left, just tried it, works great, dont know how long it last tho, off to Halfords to get some more now. I looked everywhere for the wider (25mm) electrical tape, RS components is the only place I could find that has it. John

trim on T-top & down windscreen
Regarding the trim on the T-top (the one that is about 3 inches away from the intersection with the window, and continues down each side of the windscreen to meet the bonnet) does anyone know how to restore it back to black again ? It appears to be fading to a greyish black with white-ish cloudy areas. Thanks John

Leaks at T-top to window area
I think he means where the rubber gasket of the T-top meets the rubber gasket of the body, in like a dogs leg fashion, at least thats where I think the problem lies. I have just done mine, will wait for a good rain to see if it worked. Cheers John

350z feature on Top Gear
Well, I just watched the 350z on top gear, I cant believe he gave it such a bad rap. Maybe the Renault engine is not as good as the old Nissan, but surely all the other things he said cannot be true. John

Leaks at T-top to window area
Robin Maplin is a bit more expensive, £2.99 for 50g or £3.99 for 70g, but thats well worth it if it stops the leak (not a serious leak, just a few drips, but over a long period, enough to wet the passenger seat.) Thanks John

Leaks at T-top to window area
Thanks Robin, I looked at Maplin website, they have the silicone grease, I will be there when they open in the morning. Thanks for your help. Regards John

Leaks at T-top to window area
During heavy rain I get leaks at the junction of the T-top to window area. I have inspected the seals, they look ok, I lubricated them with that Holts Rubber Lubricant. Are there any 'fixes' for this problem, any mods to the lever mechanism that would clamp the tops tighter ? John

Toad alarm - triggered by leaks ?
My toad alarm goes off in heavy rain, I do have a small drip from the passenger side T-bar, do you think this is enough to set off the alarms ultrasonic sensors. The alarm was on the car when I bought it, can you dissable the ultrasonic part of the alarm (for when its raining) I dont have the manual, and Toad's web site is useless John

TVR vs Z
Im old enough to remember when the 240Z was first introduced. I was living in the USA at the time, and somewhere around 1972 all the car magazines were raving about this new sports car, the 240z. I wanted one, and was desperate to get rid of my Jaguar E type before the clutch went completely. The 240z would not be availaable for about 3 months, so in desperation, I settled for another new entry into the market, a BMW 2002. The 240z hit the market soon after I bought the BMW, at about $3500 (the BMW at $3200) I kept the BMW about 6 months, (it resembled a shoe box on wheels) and bought a Corvette. The point is, the 240z was an absolute bargain. The auto magazines and the industry over in the USA realised the potential problems with the way the sheet metal body panels were designed, with simple butt joints and spot welds, serious traps for moisture. However, this simplicity of design was inevitable given the low price. At the time, the was no other sports car around at anywhere near the price thats was as good as the 240z, and was the car that launced the Japanese industry in the sports car market.

Interior clock on 300zx import
I cant find any information that suggests that the clock is on one of the fuses, (either the fuse panel in the car or the one under the hood) - does anyone know if the clock is on a fuse ? Thanks John

Interior clock on 300zx import
Hi Andy, I took the clock apart, but there is only one circuit board inside. And the 2 resistors are number R100 & R101, are these the ones ? The part number on the outside of the clock is: 25820 40P00 229-A 30062 These resistors look awfully small, I dont know if I trust myself on such a small board. What do you charge for soldering them ? Thanks John
