  1. David, I did mine couple of months ago, very easy job, I did mine on ramps with a hydraulic jack (with a block of wood) taking the weight of the autobox. Mine did not cure the vibration, so the centre bearing replacement is next on the list. Good luck John
  2. Mine had a crap tint on the rear window, prob not was a factory job. But I had to remove it, I tried all the remedies, amonia, amonia mixed with sugar soap, in the end it was down to removing with a razor blade tool. Which is why I am now without a defroster, I will have to get a second hand back window fitted. JOHN
  3. I was thinking of getting a autobox cooler from Zcentre, in Luke's instructions he says it replaces the engine oil cooler, and then you use the old one for the autobox. But the n/a does not have a oil cooler does it ? If it does'nt, can you simply use his kit for the autobax ? Will the fittings & brackets he supplies enable this ? Thanks John
  4. Jeff, about the guy you mentioned in Birmingham for window replacement, his prices seem cheap.......if you can ever get him to call you back, he is totally unreliable. John
  5. Is a turbo autobox same as n/a? I am trying to figure out if a gasket for the autobox oil pan for a 1991 turbo will fit a 1992 n/a. Also, are the import boxes different to the UK ones ? John
  6. Just got some Castrol Differential EPX 80w-90, it meets API GL5 so it should be ok I guess John
  7. Thanks Andy, I will check all mine. By the way, I bought a new tyre from Kwick Fit the other day, I was surprised when they had torqued every nut. John
  8. What oil should I use for the differential ? Just the standard stuff that I can buy at Halfords will do. Is it normal 90w gearbox oil? Thanks John
  9. Is torqueing the wheel nuts really critical ? If so, what is the torque? Thanks John
  10. C1397-51X90 Can anyone please tell me if this part number (for a transmission gasket) is listed as fitting a 1992 import n/a autobox sump ? (the one without a drain plug) Thanks John
  11. Emmision laws do vary in the States......California has the strictest, always has. They had pollution restrictions back in the 60's before the rest of the USA. At that time it was just a pcv valve. John
  12. Will the glass out of a UK tailgate fit a Jap import? I ruined my defroster scraping off a tint that had gone wrong. Now I have no defroster, what are my options? If the glass is bonded in, does that rule out removing a glass from another tailgate and fitting it in mine? A UK glass would be better if it would fit, as I understand the UK ones have the defroster inside the glass instead of stuck on the inside like the Jap ones. Thanks John
  13. Jim Do you reckon it will be safe to re-use the one week old gasket again ? I would have thought so, in 1 week it wont have got brittle or stayed in a compressed state. Thanks John
  14. Those bulbs, from PIAA, do they fit the Jap spec cars, or do you have to do the mods to the terminals ? Thanks John
  15. Thanks Paul, I only ordered one gasket.......they are over £20 each. What I could do is not to overtighten the bolts, run it for a few miles only to get the oil blended, they remove and refit the pan with the correct torque. I wonder, do people with the turbo just drain it and not clean the strainer and magnet ? John
  16. That could be it Bilky......I new some have em and some dont. John
  17. Jack From what I understand they normally dont have a drain plug, although a couple of people here seem to have drain plugs on their imports. John
  18. Thanks Danny...........I will check with him now. Thanks John
  19. I will have to look at the workshop manual and see if the filler tube extends down into the reservoir.......... John
  20. After been told by my local nissan dealer that the autobox sump gaskets are back ordered (from overseas) and will take 5 weeks to arrive (mine been an import has no drain plug) I was wondering if anyone has ever sucked the fluid out through the dipstick tube ? Thanks John
  21. By the way Stuart, your step by step article is super. John
  22. I have not decided yet Stuart, I was looking at the ones on Zcentre, not sure if I will do the rear spoiler first though. Thanks John
