Slick 50
167,000 miles now. Simmo, I know that the Oil one has been discussed and the final conclusion was waste of money because the chemicals they add are already in the good quality oils.

What Internet Browser do you use?
I generally use Microsoft's one but I am turning away from it. For some reason some pictures dont show on sites. Like before, the icons at the sike of the posts telling you which ones are new post didnt show up. Virtually every web site has some picture that doesnt load. If I install Windows from fresh it starts working perfectly again fir about 2 months and the it goes back to not displaying stuff. I Have all the latest patches installed. I use Opera sometimes and I am started to favour it all the time now. I never get any errors like I do on the MS one and the download tool is much better. For example, I was trying to download a patch for a game through MS Internet Explorer and it kept timing out. I thought that must mean the site is busy or gone down. I then tried the same link in Opera and it downloaded at 87kbs. Quite a difference from timing out. But this isnt the only download this has happened too. A number of downloads have timed out with Internet Explorer but then worked fine with Opera. So I just wondered what you lot use. Stuart

Slick 50
Uh-oh! Hssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss "RUN!" KABOOM! That is the fuse bing lit! ;) Any ways, I'm not on about the oil additives but the fuel decoking one. I know that you a little is good because it helps seal the valves and such. Anyways, I have used Injector cleaner a few times, the first time it did make a difference as I dont think anything like that had been used on it before so the injectors where probably a little blocked. A few days ago I put Slick 50's fuel treatment in and I was wondering if any one else has used it and what they thought of it and did it make any difference? Stuart

Rotary Engines
I also hear that you should red line a RX7 every now and then to get rid of the carbon deposits at the end of the rotary.

Overheating
There is a thread on here from a few years ago when some one went to Nissan with their car over heating and was told they needed a new head gasket or something. Basically it was a few grands worth of work. They then went to Hiteq further down the road in Wigan to see what they said. After 30 seconds of a mechanic looking at the engine, he walked to the back of the garage and came out with a rad cap, replaced it and said it was free of charge. The car worked OK from then on. Stuart.

What is a Crossmember???
I am sure a cross member is the peice of chassis at the front of the car which goes between the right and left side of the car.

Overheating
Mine stays steady at 65ºC and goes upto 80ºC on a hard drive. Do you have your old rad cap? Was there anything wrong with it in the first place? If not try putting that back on and lets hope that clears the problem. Does the radiator have any leaks in it at all?

Bad Ebay Transaction...
Can you tell me what happened in the end then? I cant be bothered reading it all ;)
-
Overheating
A simple thing like a rad cap can cause this problem. When my car was over heating, I could open the rad cap and nothing would happen. It was just very hot water but no shoot out. I think in the end it was a faulty thermostat, as 3 weeks later the car would not warm up at all. How ever I must say that according to other people 107ºC is not over heating. The fan will come on at 105ºC and on hi-speed at 110ºC and I cant see Nissan making the fan come on when it is a few degrees away from over heating. I wonder if the thermostat has gone completely balls up, and once it gets so hot, starts to close again? After changing mine the temperature never goes over 80ºC. Stuart

Power increase?
To increase your boost presure you should really chip your ECU. Increasing your boost with out chipping your ECU could cause damage. The cheapest way to increase the boost is with boost jets. Problem then you wont know how much the boost will increase too. But "Safty Boost" will still work if your car starts to detonate. The best way is to get a boost controller. Then you can change the pressure from inside the car to what every pressure you like. How much money are you wanting to spend? Stuart

Rotary Engines
I wonder why people debate the size of the engine. I have heard people say you double it or something so I have seen the engine written down as 1300cc x2, 650cc x 2, 2600cc. I went watching the old Norton bike at Oulton Park a few years ago. Quite a few now. The bike was out doing a final lap of Oulton after the death of Steve Hislop.
