LOL. yeah, it's about time I coughed up my sub....

Film I think.

I am sure a cross member is the peice of chassis at the front of the car which goes between the right and left side of the car.

Oh,

I thought it was one of those endurance games they have on Japanese tellie!

(ouch!):D

I think the cross member supports the tension rods & suspension bits, front axle?

Arthur

crossmember maybe its the new sub section for members of B.O.B for cross dressers lol seriously i think a crossmember is part of the chassis even though it can be bolted off it can support the engine mountings and or the suspensions

Sorry to take this off topic:rolleyes: but can it be replaced easily?

Mike How rusty is it????

Can it be wire brushed then rust treated and undercoated ??

OMG, not sure I should thank you Vijay, ignorance is bliss and all that , I noticed it reported on my MOT, I think I'll have to take a look myself and see how bad it is :(

Mike

I have to say if my member was rusty, then I'd be cross.:D :D :D

  !

Herman , if you need a hand ((,,,applause,,,)i thank you) , give us a -e- got friend who is an MOT tester with a ramp...Let us know.

It might be surface rust you never know,,,fingers crossed:bow:

LOL you REALLY don't want to take this on yourself unless you have some VERY good tools! The cross brace is welded to the chassis legs so you'll need an air hammer to seperate them. The amount of stuff which has to be removed is unbelievable - problem being that you have to give clearance to make the new welds.

Good luck!!! You'll need it ;)
