  1. this sounds familier... my autobox worked absolutly fine before i took it off the road... four months later... it jerks a bit changing from 1st to second (other gears fine and work) hoping it was strainer but decided to convert anyway :P should you want another autobox for free you can have mine once its out..... just need to arrange yourself delivery or pick up :) hopefully you get yours sorted or you convert to manual.
  2. ok ill take your advice :) halfords foldable chocks strong enough to hold the front in place whilst i put axle stands up rear? or is it better to put ramps under front first?
  3. ok :) i may try raising the rear first though as the jacking point is further to the back.......... but then again..... no handbrake this way :( so should i raise the rear... chock the front... place ramps under rear... then jack the front and place axle stands under? this the easiest way? :1eye:
  4. so 18 inches too high? how did you get the car up as high though? my 2 ton jack dont raise very high. also... i have the car in the garage, rear first. should i use the ramps at the front or back for easiest raising method? (prefer not to start the car by the way)
  5. cool, cheers for the info. i will see if alanz are like this and if not i will have to grab them.... alanz? :gunsmilie:
  6. clearance to do manual conversion :whistling:
  7. sorry i think its the blue light in the background shining off it :red_indian:
  8. the only thing i stil cant get my head around is....... i need the car raised 18 inches (obviously the back ramp wont go that high but i can offset that by raising front more and putting railway sleepers (found some) under the axle stands to get the extra 3inches.. but how on earth do i get the front that high? I'm sure the 2tonne jack cannot raise the front by 18 inches so would i need to do it by stages? i.e raise car on axle stands, place sleeper under jack and raise some more and keep going? still cant work out how im going to the do front that high O.o
  9. cheers pal. i got the axpe stands but where the front jacking points are rather far back i have to raise the front soooo far up.. i know i could try raising it from the rear first but i may aswell be brave, start her up and reverse her up the ramps and then jack the front up onto stands... i would also feel safer underneath knowing i have part of the car on ramps and not all of it under axle stands. i am in the middle of removing dash so i reckon i wouldn't need them until about the 23rd ish. that weekend let me know what you can do :) Damien
  10. http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_175876_langId_-1_categoryId_165727#dtab looking at getting these but are they ok? failing that,,,,,,,,, does anyvody have some i can borrow? :(
  11. even better......... i could have ultra white bolsters and have the seat strip black to match top of dash (the plastic bits or what) :2guns:
  12. look at alanz :) but minus the bits of blue inside.. mine would be outside
  13. thats what i wish to do.. was thinking of getting this in for the seats http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Jet-black-crushed-velvet-velour-fabric_W0QQitemZ370320135184QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Crafts_Fabric_Textiles_SM?hash=item5638ccd410 but would black velour suit a blue bodied car with white dash re-trim? just thinking the black would eb easier to keep clean on the seats
  14. thats exactly what im after but was hoping to get similar colour on the seats :) would black velour seats match with that colour in a blue car?
  15. any idea what i could do for the seats? covers or get some fabric in and try it myself? i like the look of J1mmytt's seats although they are not standard seats. i might have to save up for kat skinz but it might look odd having tweed seats and updated dash trim
  16. hmmm. not too bad but is there anything even more DIY? i will keep an open mind about these though but would like to see if i can go cheaper... not fussed about quality leather... just want the look
  17. as above i am looking to do my interiora sort of light cream colour and to do my seats the same but with blue piping. can anyone recommend a DIY kit? i would prefer leather or imitation but then again i can see J1mmytt's interior is suede and also looks good. going to a specialist at this stage is not an option and would like to keep the costs down by doing it myself. sort of liek this effect but a bit light and blue piping (optional on the piping) cheers :)
  18. nice neighbour couple of doors down has been offering help to my zed whenever he is about as he is interested. found out he curbed the alloys on VXR and wanted to get them fixed. he didn;t leave it there though....... he got himself the fullworks! showed me the alloys that he has repaired and his new shiny professional spray booth and bead blasting tank with gauntlets and all :punk: said if i supply paint he will paint my engine bay skinz and possibly do my alloys.. i mean the alloys i saw in there painted "wow" now i like my alloys as they are but providing he wants to.. maybe in future i should point him towards here as someone who can do the job :) i know he is tempted in a zed and i got him more and more convinced (i think) but then he saw my engine bay open today and i think i did the opposite  anyway........ with a blue car would black alloys look good? :batman: p.s the post was meant to say "for those who like painted alloys" maybe a mod can change?
  19. cheers bud. i will follow this as it certainly is stressful. i am using the front jack mount but as that is quite far back compared to normal cars i still cant get the clearance i need for the front axle stands. luckily i dont have to do this bit until after i fit clutch booster etc
  20. cool matey :) i will look you up on this heheheh so far i am now "following guide" and am removing dash (hard to do when car is in garage and i cant fully open doors) then i will most likely need help raising car as it just looks so dodgy... i will follow others advice and raise from rear next time
  21. yeah! VIDS VIDS VIDS bring on the vids :P
