  1. i want this wrapping for my cam covers and throttle body cover :)
  2. not too sure about the u-bends on the piping... looks like the hot air would go straight back through plenum lol but then a closer inspection reveals a little pipe coming off them........ but surely that would mean that hot air is also going TO the intercooler.. wouldnt this setup make intercoolers pretty much the same as non existant i might be miles off but its the first time ive seen something like this (due to new on the car scene and not from proffesionalism - moreso lack of) for those who DO know what is going on here. care to explain to others like me what this setup is for?
  3. cool beans............. will be doing this too :) just wish i could also polish the steering resevoir but can see that wont come out the same.. so guess ill have to get a chrome one
  4. if i am really careful. do you think i could polish the intercooler pipes and the side of the intercooler? not the fins but the outside walls of the mount. cheers
  5. after doing hard work i treated myself to a well earned KFC! YUM YUM on the way at the junction next to the radio station on new london road i saw a red zed turning right :)
  6. well i paid similar for my heap and paid 3k for my last zed which was a perfect example... also the money you would save with insurance would soon pay the diffeence. in my case 2 years would pay the difference although my last zed after being converted had 49k miles :) so you more than likely right :)
  7. seeing this car makes me realise i should have kept my old black zed... that car was original and in MINT condition.. nothing was torn or ripped, all the seals were plush. even had all the blinds and the jap flare, even had all the stickers that the car had when it came out of the factory.... LESSON LEARNT!!! but sticking to post, if i had the money and started out all over again i would snap this up in an instant without any hesitation! good find si :)
  8. i know i have a HKS exhaust but tahts all i thought.
  9. well i must admit it was a pain as pipes everywhere. but drivers pipe is on wrong way round and so sticks out too far to put mesh on and protect it (and i realyl hate mesh)
  10. i have less than that as the garden is just one huge decking area :( mis judged how much i wanted when i explained to the gardners buahahaha
  11. also... im polishing my plenum and wondered if i could polish the intercooler hard pipes? i take it there isnt a lot i can do to make the intercooler look cleaner and more appealing?
  12. i don't disagree with HKS but if someone who fitted it didnt do it properly... thats more of what im getting at. but taking your advice i guess i should leave it on there then :P i don't mind either way but i just want what is best for the car :)
  13. a week ago i would of totally don eit,, i did post up i would swap. but if these are better than i though then maybe i should wait until i get baz's oem and compare the two when running to find out which ones ill keep :P dont want to make the zed worse but if oem mounts do a better job for a stock car then id probably look at re posting
  14. no idea, the previous owner had it done before i bought it :( as for the colour choice the previous owner loved Mg's and so got mg trophy blue sprayed on.... just a shame so little effort was put in anywhere apart from outside of car
  15. would you say this has better airflow over the oem side mounts... and would this hinder air flow around engine bay too much?
  16. hehehehehe did you get my pm?
  17. well when i see others they appear to have gaps on the intercooler which allows better airr flow.. this one doesnt look like a lot of air gets through :(
  18. yeah i used the diagram :) i dont have ramps so might have to get some made up
  19. p.s look at the bad respray finishes (lack of) on the parts that are revealed... such a shame but guy two doors down form me have a proper spray machine and mentioned that i just have to supply paint..... cant wait to give him the engine skinz :)
  20. here you go funkysi..... now do you believe me when i said i think i should revert to oem side mounts for the time being? :dots: these things look worse than i thought :helpsmilie:
  21. could this also make the mileage clock stop? mine stopped going up and im hoping its just a solder job
  22. did you raise one end at a time? i put chocks on behind the rear wheels and hand brake on good but as i was raising the front.. all sorts of noises happening put me off going further :(
  23. ok well i started to raise the car after getting bumper off (too me ages) and i just didnt feel safe. i jacked it up where it said and after already lifted the car very high from the front i still didnt have clearance to get axle stand under.... was a bit worried and left it for today :) Journal will be up in 5-10 mins :P
