  1. i wish to do all of these except the battery as i can imagine sending that to the back of my SWB would be a right PITA.. not saying fuse box is really easy to relocate but atleast im staying the same area of the car :) can you rewire battery to boot with existing cabling? i gather moving fuse box to where my A/C use to be would require extra loom etc?
  2. WOW :tt1::tt1: thanks for the good write ups! i will be using these to carry out mine :) cheers matey
  3. with my lpenum removal and gaskest and bits and pieces etc i was looking at the forum on smooth engine bays as i would ideally like to have alot of other stuff out of sight and showing pretty much just the plenum and cam covers. im also looking into getting some skins but i was wondering if any of you knew what in the engine bay could be removed or relocated to make my engine bay as tidy as possible :) i can see some of you have very nice smooth engine bays with little shown and wondered if you could advise on what you did for that result thanks guys
  4. ordered loads of stuff for my engine pull and also got all vac and water pipe replacements ordered. apparently there was a right up on here that shows a guide on where all the pipes to be changed are and how i replace all of them in the best positions. does anyone have access to this? i have used searched but getting tons of results on the forum and getting a bit lost :(
  5. It did die down quite alot but over the last few years it is getting more frequent :( and the routine they use is apparently getting more aggresive
  6. Well other sources say they are reminding us of their presence, some say they test our reaction times to the second to see if were getting better or worse and that this helpful information would assist them in how we operate should they do the real thing. And another source I read states that other NATO forces and ours are doing a very important millitary excercise off the coast of Scotland soon called operation warrior or something. They may be trying to peak at the setting up there that will commence either way,,, to find out they are doing this again like they did before is causing tensions. We won't shoot them down yet sometimes I think we should as they are invading our space and if we were to fly over them they wouldn't hessitate bringing us out of the sky obviously it would do worse if we did shoot them down but still......

  8. cool :) i will just order 3m of all 6 sizes and get some vac pipeing :)
  9. cheers for that buddy :) im just trying to grasp the minimal tools i can buy as i have to pay out alot this month as it is :(
  10. trying to contact you for a few bits of advice but can't pm you as you are not subscribed can you email me at cookiemonster_222@hotmail.com? cheers
  11. anyone? surely others have done this or have access to measurements :)
  12. maybe we can get Jeff or others in the zed know how to read this post and comment :) im guessing jeff has access to engines to find out measure meants of all the pipes i can change (minus vac pipes) basically with the plenum and fuel rail of and gearbox out i wish to change every bit of piping i come across :)
  13. hmmm well that is odd, it might be best trying to re apply as much loom with engine in as possible just incase something isnt seated properly. although she is overfueling so i would start with looking at sensors etc to see why she is overfueling. what i dont have the experience to know is why this seems to flood when the engine is off, hence why i also included heavy floor mat stuck on pedal (dont laugh but my old bmw does this and sometimes my car is flooded) only other thing i can think of is whether either your pedal isnt going back into its position all the way or your throttle part (bit on front of engine) isnt going all the way back causing trickling of fuel but ofcourse i wonder if im very wrong here because surely with no power to car when its off the fuel pump wont be pressuring system to get fuel to the piston :( i would say its due to overfueling but mine overfuels due to o2 sensor and doesnt flood engine to the point where it wont start anybody else care to take a guess for tudor as to why his car is flooding when off as im guessing this is the case or when its on idle before he turns off?
  14. yup :) was hoping others new the size so that i didnt have to wait until plenum was off to find out and order :) i want to order now :p
  15. just a thought but is your car overfueling? can you smell strong fuel smells from the exhausts?
  16. it's ok matey its all good advice you gave anyway even if i wasnt subscribed :) plus i do it all the time to other people on their posts (not reading properly) as i rush through too fast :P one of those mysterious things................................ unless your like me (an idiot) hehe
  17. i wouldnt know what to suggest apart from: *heavy floor mats (this has happened to me in other cars) *SParks not firing properly and building up fuel to the point they get flooded *worst case scenario and probably unlikely water flooded cylinders possible HG failure what does the oil look like? after you have dried the sparks does it fire up immediatly or is it a slow starter usually? when your car is running does it run smooth? the reason i ask is they can get wet when not firing properly so it would be a good time to start looking at the connections and the spark plugs themselves to see if they are dying etc hopefully someone will agree but im sure you will get better advice soon :) try not to worry though like i do with everything as most of the time these things are fairly simple niggles (my car had loads and getting most of them solved ---- SLOWLY)
  18. lol :) i agree that is why i subscribed :hammer: i was saying he isnt subscribed and so i cant pm him :p
  19. Hello, do you have a contact i can reach you on Andy? i wish to call in regards to polishing as im still not making head to tails with your posts (im not with it at the moment) just wish to find out the bare essentials i would need to buy as i have money ready to buy tools but have no odea what i can get away with. i know you already made a post but im not good with writing and find it easier on phone calls. i would of PM'd you but your not subscribed :( cheers matey:angel:
  20. hello, want to order new silicone pipes today as i wish to do all the important bypasses when my plenum off but i also want to replace ALL bits of piping needed whilst down there, turbo water pipes, radiator hoses, PCV etc i was told to find all the sizes in diameter needed and wondered if you all knew? i think i need about three lots of 3 meters of silicone and i think there are 3 different sizes???? cheers:batman:
  21. hi matey, this is exactly the problem my car has suffered since buying off an old member on here. Sanat is also aware of the problem and can back me up. Normal driving is fine but when i get on a fast road and boot it after about 6-7 seconds my car does the exact same, according to garage near me who does zeds it was a boost leak as pipes werent on properly, he said he tested it and it was fine but as my car is about to be converted to manual i haven't tried myself yet. just a side note,,,, my autobox has recently started to get stiff when changing and makes the car jump so no idea wether that effected car under full throttle (hoping it was boost leak) Hopefully you find what is wrong but i will post if my car still does it after my list of things being done Thermostat Gearbox conversion, all pipes changed and all vac pipes replaced Speed converter removed (getting heavy steering 80% of driving) gaskets replaced FMC returned to side mounted intercoolers silicone air intake pipes replaced. if after these my car stops doing it ill post at the potential problems but if you find out sooner please could you update me too? :) good luck solving the problem as ive had mine for months and also gotten to a point where i want it sorted
  22. just bought a few bits for my metal polishing task up ahead. when the sandpaper is refered to wet and dry, does wet mean the way its made or is it that it is asking me to add water to the sandpaper? the reason is i am following a guide for polishing the plenum and not sure what wet sandpaper means, the guide also says the plenum must be wet whihc leads me to believe i have to apply water myself for wet sandpaper? can anyone in the know advise?
  23. re - edited my post which pretty much covers what you just said :P i will atleast see how far my old man's driver can get it but if need be i can hapily get it and pass it on. my wife likes cambridge and so will easily like another excuse to go there for shopping and day out just comes down to how soon you need it as i know if i was buyign something i am not too good with waiting
