as the title says, finally got round to picking up my conversion kit last weekend :hyper: now i just need to figure out how to do this on my drive :headvswal i take it i need to knock up some ramps about 18inches off the ground :eek: any ideas how the best way to do this would be? how much do you think a mechanic would charge to carry out this job? obviously it would be easier to pay someone to do this as they have ramps but is it possible to do this myself and a mates help?

that is Captcha :) forum generates an image of letters or numbers (sometimes even math-matical questions which cannot be copied. i ran my own Legion website for AION and so had to inplement this myself aswell. Unfortunatly the amount of time managing the forum beats the time to play the game.... i now know what kind of work Kim and mods have :bow::bow::bow: so i think i will put some praises out to the mods ........................ i agree. a CAPTCHA system should be put in place to stop automated registrations... unfortunately it doesnt fully stop someone manually registering..... Best thing to do is Ban IP address as that will dwindle down alot of spammers from same location EDIT* just checked Vbulletins features and it does offer *Captcha *User banning (by name & IP) might be worth implementing it? :)

mine runs better now than it did. engine runs fine but unfortunately coolant leak from a pipe at back of engine means i don;t risk driving it. Hopefulyl have better access to it after i do my manual conversion (get parts on sunday) :dance: probably be march when i put it on road again so might aswell do it myself... just have not worked out a way to raise car high enough to do the job as its on my drive and i don't know if axle stands will get the car that high other than that it still starts first time, every time at the flick of the switch

nice.. a competitor to my old HD4850 :D i never use laptops for gaming anymore as ive been through 3 and 2 of them had dedicated cards... just don't like the heat :( desktops for gaming from now on :) shame NVidias cost too much as i like the look of their GTX series. can match the performance with ATI for less money :(

i'm afraid not si..... but it does come with cabling and a box for you to spunk in!! I don't think i will be getting rid of it anytime soon :) i thought about SLI over crossfire but ATI has a modest price and my X48 board is crossfire supported only. I will try good ol nvidia again in the future. Originally SLI did not support multiple monitors whereas ATI crossfire did, i run two monitors with gaming and sometimes show tv on the second. But Nvidia finally patched and supports it so it adds more options for me next time if it did perform sexual favours then it would give my wife something to be jealous of HEEEHEEE cheers mate. well i have always wanted to own a super pc. i built my last one fairly descent but i thought this time i would go a bit further. thing is i wanted to go up even more on CPU but this money is aside for my car as i am picking up the conversion to manual on the 9th (well the wife is as she has a conference that way) i am a bit too hyper but its probably the only time i will get to do this as a super spec as its costs too much to keep doing... so i ma going out with a bang and keeping modest in future :mac1:

Might have a HD4850 available soon as i have just purchased two of ATI's FINEST HD5870's, can't wait to crossfire these bad boys.... both HD4870's going into wifes pc which is still good will post up soon if i do decide to sell. i will only ask peanuts as it would most likely be lying around anyway. My mate is getting an I7 extreme but at £600+ i think ill wait a year before upgrading this average quad.Can anybody share their experience with an I7 extreme? is it worth it or should i overclock the Q9300 and wait a while longer? sometimes i feel like building his pc and shoving my quad in :( just don;t have it in me to be like that..... darn it! if i do let the HD4850 go i will prob ask for £40 as it is a non reference card from sapphire with an uprated cooling system (usually £100) but it has been used for 10 months... !gb model with 800 Stream processors and stock running clock of 650 MHZ (prefer to keep them stock)

hi mate, sorry for long time until reply. I did have issues with getting car there in the end and went local. the garage was good but i asked to get water leak fixed as it leaked badly after a little drive. i mentioned to the garage that they will only find the leak after a test drive but they didnt see the leak and left it , that is fair as you don;t fix what is not broken. After picking car up i could see that the leak was there still and it is hitting the exhaust manifolds (only on harder drives) Obviously this is not exactly garages fault because car was not MOT'd and therefor its not fair for him to test drive it and risk his licence. just wished i went zedworld in the end as they might of found leaking pipe straight away. I have a manual conversion kit im picking up in two weeks to fit over the winter. once that is fitted i will book MOT at zedworld and get them to do the pipe that is leaking. I think car will be off road until march at this rate as i have no idea how i am going to drop the Gearbox to change it without a ramp. :headvswal

eeeerrr i'm not sure. all i know is there is one each side and if they split or don't have enough grease on (or something like that) they will be failed for MOT. was told to jack car up. remove wheen and undo size 16 bolt and a pin. something like that anyway

i know these won't pass the MOT so i am going to pick up new ones from MJP. how on earth do i do it by myself?

ahhh i always thought it was a seperate test than the cats test. what pipe is it and does it actually work?

want to do an MOT asap but my drivers side O2 sensor is lazy. been told its better when warm but there is always the possibility of failing. Mine still has cats in.............. is there anything i can do to get it through MOT? some people reckon it could still pass, other say to unplug second O2 sensor and the ecu will try to give it an average reading in its place and others say to undo a pipe on the balance bar. ooooohhhh errrrrr. is it hard to change an O2 sesor on the driver side?

The Alpine tyre R does look good and my uncle is a carpenter who waid hell provide mdf for boot build if needed. is 200 watt strong enough for the very occasional song with a tad more bass? my mate had a sub and amp and the amp burned out lol... think its was fusion or something like that. I really am new to the amp scene and so have not got aclue when it comes to amps... everyone else i know keep saying i need 1000amp+ but when i see 200 - 300 w amps i start to wonder if 1000+ is overkill?

thinking about treating myself to an sub and amp. don't want anything mega heavy just like a bit of bass with my music every now and again. can anyone recommend a sub and amp package? if i get 400w sub do i need a 400w amp? i don't know how you measure out a reliable sound system. was looking to spend around the £200 mark or very near. Please could someone point to me what would be a good set up? links are acceptable aswell if you only have the time for a copy and paste :bow:

cheers for the advice from you and everyone :) i am going to have to ring insurers later i guess :) I did pay them up front and they told me how much ill get back if i cancel (6 months worth) and it is quite an amount. they did offer to change the claim to another car (abviously want the money) and so maybe i can get them to accept this change and they can keep my money for another 6 months

nor does mine i just checked now. the thing is i looked at DVLA website and the list of things you must inform them about like engine displacement changes etc does not include transmission anywhere. How would insurance find out if it was an auto? the thing is i though a transmission mod would be things like fitting paddle shift, making gears bigger etc, and that technically this is not a mod as it is a standard manual gearbox and just a swap. surely if the V5C does not need to know then insurance dont need to know? i'm confused lol :confused:
