  1. one thing that im glad i was sold is the Random Orbital Sander.... really is the precision of a normal sander with the speed of a belt sander.... really is amazing! it is a pig and i even got my mates Dremel kit. but trying to sand in between the gaps is proving a pain and so having to do by hand :( ive got until friday really as my car is ready to pick up next tuesday :) WOOOHOOO!! D2 are doing an absolutely fantastic Job!! I can't recommend them anymore as i am blown away by darren and his assistant carl. Smashing guys who Really know their stuff on the zeds. Ive always heard other so called zed mechanics from around my way trying to give advice that doesnt add up or have a go fixing my car and not solving problems but darren and carl know their stuff! All i got to do is give them my plenum, MOT the car and then darren is going to diagnose my wide open throttle problem. will be nice to have a properly working zed for once
  2. been a bit busy today and started doing my plenum as i couldnt find no-one else who would do the work (even offered good money) i can see why no one else wants to do it though but here are some pics so far.......... as you can see i still got lots to do and still got to use paper with more grit than 240. (got various grades up to 1200) but i am excited that it is coming together :)
  3. at about 6:50 am going down Mersea Road, Tried to flash you but ended up doing allsorts like indicaters. flash and wipers trying to find the main beam switch :wheelchair: lovely looking zed you have there
  4. ok buddy :) i shall come and give you a visit when i get my car back next week :)
  5. I didnt know what amps to have. Only want something modest and wont have speakers too big so i can still keep a bit of boot space
  6. that is very kind of you :) Only problem i have left is figuring which speakers to put in build and wether i need amp and what sort of amp. Im a dunce when it comes to sound systems Will pm you :)
  7. ok guys, i will give that a go instead :)
  8. can someone recommend some speakers that fit in the doors? Some wally fitted in 6x9's before i bought it and they are too deep and hardly seat in properly? not too worried about rear speakers as i dont think they are too bad, i think the front could do with an upgrade though
  9. As above i can get hold of some MDF really easily via family but can anyone recommend where to get the rest of the materials? i'm guessing i need some sort of carpet some glue or staples? i will also be putting in a LED 300zx logo that lights up in the boot area at night just for myself so i can have a bit of fun. I have a few ideas and designs, some tacky and some quite good but basically i am wishing to get either an LED strip and design it into a funky 300zx logo on the boot floor or cut it into the floor. gonna try some ideas out and see if it ends up too tacky!
  10. cool :) and on a good note Fully comp on the jap import. 6000 miles including business use for all, modification cover and even given tip sby a canadian about getting the isurance cheaper and missing the increase penalty for paying monthly :) A good night to say the least
  11. Looking for a boost controller but don;t know what it needs. Does it Have to be Dual solenoid? any brands i shoudl stay away from? also, if anyone has one they are getting rid of PM me :)
  12. cheers for your help buddy, i believe the bit about the clutch being stiffer when not easing off the accelerator is what he mentioned to me i remember him quoting (when accelerating it will be stiffer than decelerating and changing gear) he said that depending on what im doing when changing gear it will sometimes change. looks like he is going through with what you explained so i am not worried anymore :)
  13. thats the one. he said vacuum storage. thank goodness for that. yeah i have the auto balance bar for now :) he still reckons it will be a bit stiffer than normal though
  14. he said something about the servo missing. not sure whether they are the same or not :( I remmeber somehting bulky on the pedal at the top black and round and had a resovior or somthing the other side of the firewall that connects so im not sure exactly what garage meant. All i know is he said i have 3 options. 1, dont have it, 2 find oneand fit or 3 he can hook up to something (didnt quite hear) but he said the pressure will change alot, somehting like the clutch pedal will be stiffer upon accelerating or decelerating and will constantly change. will have to call him tomorrow.
  15. havn;t got any and will only sell as part of the conversion kit, which i already have, Some people have said i dont need it as its not that much heaver than non turbo and will get used to it.
  16. cheers buddy, I managed to phone him but he doesn;t have one at the moment. He reckons i will be ok without it and that i can cap it until i do find one if i still want one. He said the clutch is only a little bigger than the non turbos and they feel fine without the Booster. Any of you experience driving the zed without the clutch booster? My beemer has a stiff clutch so im hoping its similar
  17. cheers buddy, ive done a wanted section but cant find andy300zx on ebay :( My BMW is stiff so im hoping its no more stiffer than that. i dont mind stiff aslong as i can drive it comfortably and in traffic without too much pain
  18. Just found out i have no Clutch Booster and glad i pay my £20 per year as i need to ask wether it is managable? WIll it be too stiff and should i leave it out? As you are aware its hard to find one without getting it from Z1 (my last choice) got some piccies up though! well chuffed apart from missing a clutch booster to whihc the guy who sold me the conversion said it had it. I thought it was the fluid resovoir, I was told its the black circular thing but i remember that being attached to the pedal so it cant be that missing
  19. just went to the garage and the work they have done is absolutely Superb. i cannot fault it one bit. Only problem is my Manual Conversion is ready to go in and they realised something i didn't.......... Got no Clutch Servo for the booster :( Iv'e heard the clutch is managable without it but as my wife would be driving it aswell i really would like to locate one of these in working order. Does anyone happen to know if they fit from another Zed car or any ways around this? Cambelt has already been done and waterpump so not looking to take much off :( Cheers all (can;t wait to be at a show next time )
  20. sorry to hijack, Pete you have PM :) On the SUbject of the post though, I really do hope that you can get it solved ASAP
  21. yeah i did :) luckily it was £660 from Bell as jap import with mods declared. but at the cost of my wifes 10 years no claims bonus (protected) But considering im only 24 with no claims bonus myself and driving since 06 its not too bad. Sky was £1000 for the same
  22. Got a £560 Quote and thought it was good but then i reliased i chose EU spec Import. Now i know that my car is a Japanese Import but what defines a EU spec import? A car that is EU built or a car imported that is accepted by EU standards? Seeing as they are pretty much the same car minus a few details would any Jap cars come under EU import? I thought ALl of the zeds were imported one way or another anyway?
  23. yeah well my Mileage meter stopped working aswell so i always thought it was a Speed sensor :) DO the gearbox's store them? If not then ill have to order one to go in my Manual Gearbox
