after i picked my zed up from SE i took it well easy down the A12...... ....at the M25 roundabout i pulled up alogside a porsche boxter s at the red light ..... ....at which point he starts revving and inching forward, so i thinks to myself "oh ok then"... ..the lights go green, afer 10 seconds or so of me going fuuuuuuuuck i look in the rearview mirror and he was about 500 yards behind me. was he racing me...I'll never know
  6. i agree with scoops - just a tad lower makes it look all the better reagrds, alex

  9. jeez - you should have said i had my hands on one of those less than 1 week ago ~~~~> hand to pocket ~~~~>pocket to post box~~~~> ~~~> posty to you~~~~> bobs your uncle SE have these things lying around - whats the problem? Regards, Alex
  10. be careful of that road bud - they have mobile speed cameras on the bridges - if you see a white transit on or at the side of the bridge --slow down regards, alex
  11. ummmm just to stop you talking to yourself phone SE and say "could i have a 5 bolt gasket for a T28 please" Regards, Alex
  12. hi konrad, it sounds completely correct to me - it has exactly the same effect as reducing the weight of the flywheel - less power is lost - due to the engine not having to rotate so much mass around. It should have a bigger effect than changing the flywheel because the mass difference is more. ok so the weight difference may only be 7-8 kg but if you change to an aluminium flywheel, cf propshaft and aluminium underdrive pulley you might be saving a significant amount of weight that the engine has got to start rotating before the power even gets to the rear wheels. All this means a free revving engine, better pick up hence turbo spool up, and a lighter car. - and......... ....as nelson said "nice to see mass reduction given it rightful place" PLUS its a single piece so better feeling of the power transmission because the single piece cf doesnt twist as mucj as a steel and certainly not as much as a twin piece PLUS because of the composite nauture of cf it naturally dampens down transmission vibration. Regards, Alex p.s. just suppose these figures are correct aluminium flywheel turbo spool up 100 rp quicker alumium underdrive pulley turbo spool up 100 rpm quicker cf propshaft turbo spool up 200 rpm quicker divorced wastegate downpipes turbo spool up 100 rpm quicker vernier pulleys advanced cam timing turbo spool up 300 rpm quicker. Roller bearing turbos trubo spool up 500 rpm quicker. do you see where i'm going with this :D
  13. hi konrad , good call - i emailed these people over the weekend to see if they were interetsed - maybe andyz has a 2nd hand propsahft we can borrow. regards, alex
  14. yep - i'm well up for it after missing the last one
  15. is it just the three of us then? Regards, Alex
  16. HI Mike, welcombe back - how was you holiday? You seem to be selling lots of bitz off your zed - does that mean she is in for a total overhaul? What are you going to do go on spill the beans  Regards, Alex
  17. hi mac - its difficult to tell because i replaced the turbos at the same time and replaced the flywheel with a fidanza. as a package i think it is going to work really great - very responsive. There are obviously some issues because i am still running a standard mines ecu but give me a few weeks and a custom map and i'll post the torque curve. Regards, Alex
  18. yep i run the car like that - can you get a cover to fit over vernier pulleys - If SE are comfortable then so am I Regards, Alex p.s. i agree - they look great :D
  19. yes - the heated water that flows through the radiator to cool it also flows through the heater matrix to provide heat to the cabin. as was previously mentioned you can just by pass the heater matrix but you wont get any heat into the cabin. To give you an example of price, i had mine replaced by a garage, the heater matrix was about £150 but the total bill was getting on for a grand. It's just one of those really really annoying things that can go wrong with your zed. Not to depress you any further but check you oil. The heater matrix will eventually go on the zed, it is a commn problem, but it can be symptom of a head gasket problem. If the head gasket is faulty it can pressurise the water system which in turn can blow the heater matrix. i'll keep my fingers crossed for ya' Regards, Alex
  20. yep
  21. I'm afraid that sounds like the heater matrix to me - welcome to soggy left foot brigade Regards, Alex
  22. ohh ouch - ok so im still interetsed but at those prices i will be amased if we get enough people for a group buy. are there any alternatives? preferably in the UK Regards, Alex
  23. Hi Stuart, i was looking for some inspiration about what to do with my engine bay when i came accross your post in which you stated you didnt know what to do with your fan shroud or belt covers - i cant help with the fan shroud but what about these....... Regards, Alex
