Turbo Pole Positions!
****quick disclaimer***** my post asking if craig could get 600hp and no lag WAS a joke - personally i'm looking forawrd to fitting his turbos and seeing what the baby's can do. less lag is the way to go. However if anyone can provide me with turbos that will get me 600hp at 14opsi and no lag i might be persuaded to change. Regards, Alex

SE RR Day part 3 FFS:D
HI Stu, oh i dont know - she wasnt going in for any engine work, but they ran a compression test on her anyway which wasnt good - i dont understand it - she doesnt burn any oil doesnt loose any water, no running issues, you would have thought that with compression problems you would have had some sympton. I'm not really worried - they are putting on the alu flywheel, vernier pulleys and roller bearing turbos anyway and i'm going to run her at 16psi and see if she goes bang - hopefully i will be at the rolling road day and we shall see what she puts out. if i'm getting 400+ hp i dont have a problem if i'm getting 165hp i will buy a new engine. p.s. not sure if you saw my original post about SE but when i first went down SMW1 was in - you've done a great job, she looks great. Regards, Alex

Which TUBS??
Its just my personal opinion but i think the greddy TD05-16G is a good turbo - now if its lag you want how about the TD06-20G that is over twice the cfm of the stock TB22's - what a monster

How much room in back of 2+2 Zed?

Which TUBS??
p.s. sorry that probably wasnt much help :D

Which TUBS??
hi mike , isnt this the $40,000 question what turbo to buy. this is not an easy question to answer because it all depends on what you want from your zed. Lets face it - with standard cam and standard pistons there are only a limited amount of choices which make sense. As soon as you start changing the profile of your engine there is an almost limitless possibility of options. Now i've opted to to go for a smaller roller bearing T28 with a T25 compressor wheel - why? because of very quick spool up. I'm not chasing the magical bhp but i want a car that is quick of line and quick to drive every day. I've been advised by SE nissan that this is the wrong choice in their opinion - they would recommend a full roller bearing T28 - slower to spool up but provides more oomph when it does. I was hoping to put my zed against Maccas (SE T28's) in the rolling road day but if the compression figures are to be believed on my engine it wont be a fair contest. Very few people have had the fortune or money to be able to have run many different sorts of turbos so it is difficult to make an comparative choice. Now my advice is - sort out what you want from the zed - and make the best guess that you can. Failing that if you are changing the profile of your engine give your engine specs to a turbo manufacturer such as turbo dynamics with a description of what you want to achieve and ask their advice. There are so many variations out there that you can have an almost limitless choice Regards, alex

How much room in back of 2+2 Zed?
fits my two collies nicely - they still get confused about there only being two doors though - jerry seems to prefer the driver's seat. do you think this is dominance issue:rofl: Regards, Alex

BP Performance fuels
just saw this aritcle - anyone know the specs? like any chance of it being 100 ron? the petrol wars are hotting up - but this time it's about performance, not price. BP has launched a range of diesel and unleaded fuels, called Ultimate. The company claims both will offer drivers significantly better engine performance and less pollution. Retail director Graham Simms told us: "If you use BP Ultimate it can be like driving a car with a bigger engine or a newer model. And if you drive a diesel, the reduction in noise can be like the difference between a van and a luxury saloon." Sharp-eyed motorists may have noticed the firm's filling stations recently had mysterious question marks on their forecourt totem poles. From this week, those have been replaced with the price of Ultimate. As Auto Express went to press that had yet to be announced, but is expected to be in line with Optimax, the performance fuel from Shell. Ultimate has gone on sale at 400 outlets, and will be available nationwide by January. Regards, Alex

SE RR Day part 3 FFS:D
HI Steve, yep - the stage 2-3 roller bearing jobbies from TD. It would have been interesting to see the difference because ian is having the SE T28's unfortunately with the state of my engine it wont be much contest my compression test results were as follows: cylinder 1 - 75% cylinder 2 - 55% cylinder 3 - 66% cylinder 4 - 55% cylinder 5 - 82% cylinder 6 - 80% If those results are correct she is sick - and i may need a tow truck on standby:cry: Regards, Alex
