Seriously, you don't know how right you are. I sometimes can't tell if a car is actually trying it on or not. I just breathe on the accelerator and breeze past.

after i picked my zed up from SE i took it well easy down the A12......

....at the M25 roundabout i pulled up alogside a porsche boxter s at the red light .....

....at which point he starts revving and inching forward, so i thinks to myself "oh ok then"...

..the lights go green, afer 10 seconds or so of me going fuuuuuuuuck i look in the rearview mirror and he was about 500 yards behind me.

I get that feeling too, I think I'm driving gently, keeping revs down etc and "the kidz" are revving the cogs out of their engines but can't quite keep up.

 

Sometimes I ease off just to let them think they can keep up with a zed and then blip the throttle just a little........

 

Most of the time I ignore them, they are quite happy tearing around town at 50mph plus but would probably 5h1t their nappies at proper 150mph on an empty motorway, sorry officer, I mean private test track!!:D :D

All you TT owners out there, just try the 0-60 run while keeping your boost gauge on 0. It is scary how fast these cars go without any boost.

 

And after 2 years of ownership I am still too pussy to put my foot flat on the floor......never done it, mind you, I`ve never been overtaken either, at least not when I didn`t want to be overtaken!

 

When my speedo was dicky I took the old thunder to 130ish (private road) and the old girl was asking me how we got to 90mph so fast! I love the Zed!

I've not noticed the racing thing so much - but I have noticed the respect you get from other users, or rather the lack of it. In the Z no bugger lets you in or leaves you any space, and they all drive much closer behind than they do in the Leon. Only cars I've got into any argy-bargy with have been "proper" even though there are millions of Nova boys in Bolton.

 

(At first I thought maybe the rear view magnified more than in the other car... but after a week or so of glancing behind I became convinced people really do drive right up my ass. It's like it's illegal to drive at less than a ton when you're in it.)

 

Sitting in traffic yesterday (2 1/4 hours to Sheffield, ridiculous) and I let a three gap car open in front - couldn't see the point of moving forward that far when there was another 800 yards of traffic before the lights - and someone drove round me and then had a little rant and gesticulation in their mirror! On a two-way B road I might add. I just smiled sweetly.

 

Needless to say I drove straight past them two sets of lights later when they picked the slowest lane. :rofl: Tossers.

I take it you was caught up in the congestion traffic, I was in there too waiting to get to the wednesday-Barnsley match what a cock up with them turning the lights on as well at the same time . To top it all we lost as well after playing them off the park.

I miss the raceing bit:cry: no one will even try it when i'm in the zed, i used to always get picked on in the celica! ever tryd to keep up with a ferrari in a celica? you have no chance, passed him at 120 then he booted it and that was the last i see of him!

 

Still thats a differant matter with the zed, had a ferrari overtake me, so i said to my self i'm not haveing any of that and booted it, had to stop when he relized that he could not out run me and started to drive dangerously!

I seem to get challenged every time I leave the house recently! There's a a series 1 Renault Clio Williams that must live locally, as I keep coming across the feckin thing, that always insists on tail-gating me...so far I've just made a point of cruising at a moderate speed just to annoy the hell out of him! The funniest so far has got to be being harrassed by a Volvo Estate:eek: :D and perhaps the most satisfying has got to be being challenged by a Boxster (must of been the standard one) on the way back from Billing...my first big name kill, ahhh happy memories...;)

Yep i get tail gated loads,most of the time i dont mind,as i think they just like to look and watch,prob thinking to themselves,"what is it,shall i go for it etc etc,"normaly i slow down very steady,say at a roundabout ,just in case they leave the braking to late!,but have to confess to being a bit wild with a bloke during the summer,saw him coming,weavin in and out till he got to me,streatch of road was 40 limit,built up area and the mobile cameras love to be there,me stayed at 40 him doing everything to pass,but oncoming traffic meant he had no chance,to say he was close was a fookin understatement,never has anyone ever been that close,just a few inchs,saw him mumblin and cursin,so at roundabout saw which way he was going,me went other way,shot round roundabout,ended up 3 cars behind him,followed him for a few mins,he then stopped at paper shop(believe it or not he was still in road becouse lazy sod could not be botherd to park up properly)i shot in front ,stopped,got out as he was turning to go in shop and nutted the ****in twat(it was messy:D )told him while he was dazed what to expect next time and the quality of his drivin,then i drove off,i must admit to this day it realy cheerd up what was at the time a shit day:rofl:

I had a Beema tailgating me on the A12 at about 70. As soon as the car in front of me moved over I dropped it into third and floored it, he started flashing me from way back so I slowed down just incase he was a rozza.

 

He pulled along side and started bidding for my car.

He really wanted it but I had to tell him it was not for sale.

I took his number plate though because if I do sell it later the money he was offering would be double what I would get from the Auto trader lol.
