  1. Failing that a sharp chisel+ split it.
  2. Use the three part ones. An amazing diference over stock, easy to fit by hand (still need to press old out though) and cheap too. Look thru old threads, you can see what solid bushes did to mine+ many others cars. Even with the rose jointed type, you need to be careful, lots have broken/failed,Pricey though.
  3. My name was because i'm so errrr.petite. :D :D
  4. My new one faffed about under 2.5revs, felt gutless. I've 'un-greened' all the electrical connectors i can find+ so far so good.Done 200 miles too.
  5. You have checked the wheels are torqued up? You wouldn't be the first with loose wheels.
  6. If you change the ebay postcode to the pickup postcode, then search for transport, you should get a good deal. Always cheaper if you+ seller are flexible on dates/short notice pick up. I've paid 65p per mile not long ago!
  7. Yup. It sure does. Last august £55 filled the zed up.£50 today+ its not even three quarters full. I've voted labour before (theres a soon-to-be guilty secret for people), but no more. talk to my old transport manager, after 20 successful years, he's had enough, he can't compete with foreign lorries on an even footing, because his fuel costs are crippling- thought all europe was meant to be the same now  I work in a better job than 10 years ago+ earn the same money :hurl: , meanwhile everytime i turn around another tax increase appears, all the roads around here have potholes+ then to cap it all i have to pay £395 extra tax, oops sorry 'home information pack' on top of 1% of money i don't have for moving arrghh boil boil :headvswal  Pis**d off? nah not me
  8. You have got a new £10 radiator cap..........have'nt you? I had a similar thing with a honda legend, it just spat water out seemingly randomly.took me ages to suss it :smash:
  9. I took my new z tt to work today+ dawdling through 30mph traffic, it started to smell of petrol. Theres nowhere to pull in so, so i stopped ques of cars to check+ saw a 'wet' fuel line, i just kept tootling along with crossed fingers.bloody misery! In desperation, i called the aa from work, who duly came out + fixed it........but broke an injector wire at the same time  So home on 5, 3 hours of fiddling+ headsratching, morepain+ misery. Then whooom.I've fixed her+ Its off on 6, burbling, spinning the wheels + making that glorious sound.:hyper: Funny how i instantly forgot the burnt arms, cut fingers, scratched wrists+ would do it all again tomorrow

I am working towards getting mine tip-top again, although i have toyed with the idea of a professionally sprayed flat matt black zed.....

Yup. Sounds like my new tt lwb toy, scratches, dents, big holes in the rear seats for non-existent speakers, scuffed wheels.........oh yes+ the most gorgeous sounding twin kakimoto pie booming out the back. Just good fun to drive, while i bring it up to spec
  12. Nope. It was in its own space, between the lines, central betweeen them.
  13. We went to hammersmith apollo the other night for a concert, when we came out some twerp had keyed her door ,wing + rear quarter. This despite the fact we had parked in the middle off the bay.ho hum. Anyhow, are paint pens any good?? ( jet black car), the guy in the shop claims after polishing, it will not notice. :smw: I tried chips away+ another, they want £70 for an inch long scratch.....these are huuuge scratches.
  14. I'm looking at a modded zed, with a foobar engine. So, what will i have to spend just to swap a good engine in its place?
  15. Get more than you need, i cracked the first one putting it on, they are a very tight fit. 2nd one was a Lot easier to do with a drop of grease.
  16. Yes you do.It will run without them, but not well.I believe it affects the spray pattern. You need to be looking inside the fuel rails, to see if the busted up parts are there, or whether they have now dropped into the engine. Mine had broken into 3 bits+ i retreived bits from rail with a long match covered in vaseline. If they have gone onto engine, you just have to hope they will be thrown out when it goes, unless you can remove them somehow. afaik, courtesy nissan are the only people to do these....cheap as a cheap thing too, get too many as they are a tight fit.
  17. They were from zcentre, i just cut the old ones off + bolted new ones in.( you have to measure between bushes on old one+ set new ones the same. If you have a look at them, you will see what i mean.
  18. My zed tt has felt 'loose' and floaty for a while now, i put new upper arms on, new tension rod bushes, shocks,arms,bushes,balljoints(- what a toss job that is!) At each stage it felt better, but still loose. I finally put new whiteline adjustable anti roll bar links on the back.Strewth. Bloody thing is transformed :) doesn't hop, skip, stays flat on roundabouts, WHY didn't i do this first. Brilliant :hyper: £25? 20 minutes :wack: Just do it, if you are running about on 15 year old links!

My best mod so far is a pair of whiteline rear anti roll bar links. Mine was all over the place, especially on rough roads + i'm gobsmacked at the difference.Hanlding transformed! 20minutes+ £25 very well spent...
  20. Its difficult to reshell, without tools, equipment, lots + lots of space, mates with understanding wives +a patient one of your own.Worth it to get away from rust for years though
  21. Sods near my sisters used to swap crooklocks from one car to the other :slap: You can only slow a good? thief down + try to put off the amateurs.Putting a 'alarm fitted' sticker helps, but not the make as that only helps them. Hide an ignition/fuel cutting switch by making it visible ,but describing another action on it is good :p
  22. Mines got an **** type alarm, sometimes does this, but the hijsck/flash lights/panic? mode still goes+ stops. Bloody annoying, but think its a relay inside the alarm.
  23. I used a gentle twisting + pulling motion, not hard though, + a pair of good 'swan neck'(plumbers) type pliers, with rag between the jaws and the square connecton block. I've done it a couple of times now+ it works a treat, if you are gentle. Drop of vaseline on the 'o'rings makes them go in easy.
  24. Hmmn, A budget for a zed.Think of a number double it, then add a bit for luck...then add another credit card for 'just in case'
