  1. I know, but still...300 miles
  2. The tension bushes were sqeaking last month, so i got them on a ramp, an mot tester looked at them + squirted them with lubricant, then my tension rods start knocking intermittantly, back on the ramps- no cracks or anything visible.Sod it, i'm working 6 days a week at mo. so i will leave it. Three hundred miles later.......... :xxx:
  3. Cheers for the advice guys... tempted by znuts idea, the mrs said 'your van could back into it  MARIO-you are sooo in trouble when she sees that'
  4. We are looking at another house move :hurl: . Thing is, right where we want to widen + extend the drive is a lamp post, has any one had one moved? , or most importantly know what it costs? The house is in cambridgeshire + i've had a google or two, but am still in the dark? £500? £1750??.I need the extra room for the zeds wide doors :p cheers! :duffer:
  5. The mrs in law was hit by an idiot driving on the pavement a few years ago. After a long stay counting hospital ceiling tiles, she took a further 2 years to get most of her mobility back. Because she is a pensioner, her third + final payout, without going to court+ more years waiting was.......£5.5k. Wooey, nearly covered our lost work, months of constant care, fuel, vets bills(she was walking her dog)+ a whole multitude of other crap. Not that we wanted, nor expected nowt, nor are we bitter-pah! :slap: , or mad cos he's still driving :slap: :slap: . Anyhow, a younger friend hurt when scaffolding collapsed, not to any similar extent got £168000....... just shows what a good solicitor can do. I think people should get something for being hurt by others actions. As for the mortgage, you can get loans at close to mortgage rate over thirty years.Handy to pay peanuts, till compo' comes through. :hyper:
  6. I cant find anything obviously wrong with the zx(broken spring, loose mountings), but i get a clonk on the last bit of braking. The tie rod bushes are supposed to be poly, but they are black with what looks like rust leaking out of them. Its driving like something is loose, cant see any cracks around underside of arm mounts either. Any ideas?..its been a bad week, supposed to of sold it + got another by now, but the guys stringing me along :slap:
  7. I just had bridgestone touranze er300 's fitted to the front of mine. No slips, floating about+ proving great on these greasy/ flooded/ icy roads...touches wood quickly. :hyper: Price? £129.68, fitted for the pair! 225/50 r 16 (rated 168mph, for high performance)
  8. Just unplug injector, clean off the green gunk, then try it. Do a search, missfires are very common. mine did this intermittantly at first, then had a dead cylinder. turned out to be a fecked injector. good luck!
  9. Thanks.Bugger.Which arm bushes?
  10. Arrgh.I've just checked mine. They were fine when i was doing the belts under it 3 wks ago.......now they are smooooth on the inside.Shocked, thought my tt being standard height, wheels, etc,etc they wouldn't go like that?
  11. Thanks andy. Mjp.Thought as much, he's been great before.
  12. I'm trying to keep my tt stock, or close to. So, as it says :p , where should i go, for the best prices?
  13. Sounded like a blowing exhaust in the video?
  14. Blimey. Could of written that first post myself! I've always been a petrolhead, used to do a bike or car show most summer weekends.I just ask about car/bike + see what reaction i get, sometimes people cant shut up about their toys! Some just want to show off+ not chit chat. I'm still fairly new to these, so if i see anyone next year, expect a lot of dumbarse questions :slap: Always working 6-7 days now though, but i will try
  15. My mate has a zx12r 'streetfighter' style. 'i don't need mirrors, they all look pants' One 120mph speeding fine later.....d'oh. :x:
  16. Yes, but I want my £90 a week fuel bill to be cut + i can save my for holidays- he says optimisticaly.
  17. Well for her, it was gocompare.com, but for me confused.com was best. Still worth spending 15 mins trying the main 4-5 sites.
  18. The mrs has been looking for her car insurance. We tried two different comparison sites, £330 + £475,same cover. This gobsmacked us.We expected maybe a few £'s difference, so we tried 5 'comparison' websites in total. The cheapest prices we got were £330, £475, £425, £360 .........then £155.O.k., legal expenses was another £22, so £177. But £153 saved in a quarter of an hour.Brilliant, :hyper: i've only ever bothered with one site before now. :slap:
  19. I actually wish to stay working at the same place, just hoping to reduce my outgoings. I only get 20 days hols a year...including bank hols
  20. Ok, at the moment, i work as an employed temporary worker, for a recruitment agency. I am led to believe i would be better off being a sub- contractor for them + being self employed,as i could then claim my fuel + tool parts back then? Does anyone know if this is correct? and if so, how do i go about it?
  21. The mrs just gave me a tesco's 5p off per litre voucher. Yaaay...oh, hang on, that means she binned over £50 in there on girly goodies.Ho hum.
  22. Pah. Try an xjs 5.3 jag. Watching the trip computer get into double figures was a rare event. It Often did 60 litres in 120 miles  .
  23. If you can, take a couple of wheels off + or disable it. Anything to stop it driving off without you!, you don't want to know how many of my vehicles have sprouted legs. Even drove my old banger to somerset, stopped, took a suitcase out, locked the car+ came out ten mins later to a dry bit of road+ no car. Insurance has never coughed up enough(despite me trying hard), but at least I got something..
  24. Bet that was er.'exciting' lol. Is yours an auto?
  25. Your telling me! Never felt really depressed just because my car wasnt working, before the zed.So happy, i even cleaned 'her' car.Musta been a weak moment.lol.
