Mine had an irritating misfire at full throttle every now and again, a clean of all power leads+ earths to means its smoooth running now + a lot more responsive.

I've been looking around+ apart from the odd dubious looking site, the prices dont seem to have dropped much. Anybody know where to go for a good deal?

I sold my old red mint TT zed +After a lot of searching driving + dissapointments, i bought something far more sensible + useable for everyday driving. A black TT zed. :tongue: Makes me smile when i drive it, look at it, or talk about it. :rofl: Try a 4.4litre manual bmw, or an audi,or a jag. Then keep the zed :hyper:

I think a lot of this is how a zed is set up + running, i've had three.One uk + two jap, all manuals, all took the same daily hammering/tootle to work. Funny thing is, my first two were low 20's mpg, this one is between 25-30++ mpg , it does get run hard through the first few gears at least once a day. Admittedly, i do try and avoid towns+, but i use it everyday+ as often as i am able. :dance: All stock, except jwt filter .

Misfires are a bitch. My redzed just started doing it + after pulling off all the injector connectors+ ignition connectors + a thorough clean....it didnt work.Must admit, i wanted to beat it with a hammer at that point, but through that process i found that the missing cylinder had power to the injectors+ a healthy spark,with good compression, meaning a dead injector. One new 2nd hand injector(£30)+ a bottle of cleaner+ it was faultless for a long time.Try pulling off each coil in turn, seeing if it runs worse.oh yes+ use search.:dance:

I dont know why, but my old zed would smoke if you let it idle for too long then it would smoke if started up again soon after. Never smoked under any other circumstance.I'm led to believe the oil pools into turbos+ if the seals are worn its drawn in.I'm willing to be proven wrong though :smw:

I would advise everyone with an import+or modifications to check their policys, the engineer even commented on my re-leathered seats.

After a bout of emailing+ letter writing to my broker,they have decided to pay out + keep me insured.but, only if i keep car unmodded. :rant: Gutted to lose my kakimotos, but at least i'm not going to have any hassle in the future(could of had to declare i had insurance cancelled,which bumps premium) Damage all fixed now, off to zedworld tomorrow for cambelt etc How it looked :-

The £270 was for the year, which they say i'm not entitled to be refunded with :rant: Couldn't there be a nice clear 'is this car an import? or 'uk official model' Uk spec is a grey area.My old zed was exactly to uk spec,belts, bumpers,ecu etc,but was a jap import. :xxx: Seriously though, what the hell does it matter,as long as they have a legitimate mot?

They now say its all my falult, as the A* assume its 'uk spec', surely any car mot'ed in the uk is uk spec anyway, but anyhow they wont do anymore.thats it.finito. God i hate this kinda thing, the fact i wasn't there, she even said to sw*nton insurance(hers), 'its all my fault, he was eating his dinner indoors'. No grey area, her fault, she pays, but now feck all happens. I even asked before i claimed 'will this affect my insurance in any way shape or form? 'No' will i have to re-insure? 'NO' At least i've got a hire car, which i now have to pay £50 towards+ my £500excess + the £270 i've paid for 2 months of 'non-insurance', then try and get re-insured. A bloody diesel freelander,oh please.shoot me....its even got a sports gearbox pffft. aaargh

Hi. Without prejudice. I got bumped into by a neighbour last week, only dented the wing. The woman who hit the zed said 'i will ring my insurance', i rang mine (the a*) who organized a hire car. All going well, until a letter arrives today 'vehicle claim not accepted, vehicle uninsured' :slap::headvswal They are saying that as i got the insurance through 'c*mparethemarket.com' , who dont have a tickbox, or any indication of a uk,or imported car, that i failed to declare its an import.Would i like a quote for new cover :mac1: How i didnt swear at them, i dont know. So, i'm stuffed, i've rung + been polite,been firm,lost the plot+ shouted, but still i'm not insured. :hurl: Any ideas what i can do from here?

No, but i had endless aggro with dial a phone, who took 3 months money before cancelling .Only way out was special delivery parcel, containing a strongly worded letter to their 'field manager'. I also take delight in posting their junkmail back to them stampless + then they pay postage.Childish, but it was satisfiying at the time!

Ok, i have been reading up on changing the belt via search + can't find any mention of the 'push-pull' tool that is used to setup the tensioner, before checking belt tension, according to workshop manual. Is there a simpler way to tension belt correctly?
