  1. i did spend 2 hours today putting new discs+ pads all round. Then put extra mats under the boot carpet to stop a bit of noise on the motorways-what a difference.lovely.
  2. Yes. be prepared to work on it yourself, or pay garages regularly. It is possible to run one without selling a kidney + some are boringly reliable. The bit that bugs me is shops and 'specialists' never seem to have what you want 'on the shelf' + have to order the part.can still be quick though. some keep a zed as a second car, i drive one most days+ try to have access to a 2nd car.
  3. 325. if its half as much fun as my old 525, it will be ace.And not bad on fuel. Then again i had an xjs 5.3 v12, anything at all is 'not bad' after that
  4. Not slanging or owwt, but just based on my experience of working on older cars+ seeing old cars with dead cranks from oil supply problems. i repeat, should not be a problem in a well looked after engine, benefits are obvious.
  5. Yup, thats me. Its a uk, with the nice jap spec bits too + good cloth seats. Comfiest zed ever!
  6. Think this stuffs ok on a well looked after low mileage motor, but i'm not a great believer in any flush if your engines old + or over 'low mileage' it can lift all that horrid varnish + deposits that build up + deposit it where you dont want it. Far better to put a cheap oil in, run it for a short time, dump it out then put good oil in. modern oil has detergents in anyway.
  7. They are addictive. Would yours be a grey one?
  8. Try a louder stereo. hee hee Mine was noisy when left a few days, then quietened after a long drive.
  9. I had a twin kakimoto set up, had no baffling at all in the ends. Sounded utterly superb when burbling along 'short shifting',even better when revved, suppose it was too loud when idling to clear the screen.but hey?
  10. Its an old zed, they've all got fleas, only difference is quantity
  11. The last thing that is would be a 'cheap fix'. Mines not smoking+ cheaper than that+ is a cheap fix.- see £1500ono pistonheads advert-shameless plug!
  12. cool thanks, had thought about that+ thought it may take too long, but hey.I'll just rent a garage locally + then i will have room for another!
  13. I used to buy and sell all kinds of stuff, books, car bits, cars bikes+ allsorts. Lately i've had enough, i tried to sell my bike, sold 'buy now' to a nigerian scammer, then again to a us scammer, then high bidder was 'unable to pay' I finally sold it through local ads. This on top of being charged fees+ final value fee each time. Foolishly i put my zed on there , as i need a quick sale. Now they just 'pulled' my advert, due to the words 'i'm not easily offended, make me an offer' Tiresome. Sod em, might just put another ad in the local rag. :slap:
  14. I wish you Good luck with it, always liked these big boats. I saw the pics at rimmerbros spares of huge warehouses full of parts in india. A lot of it back here now, looked like enough for another 25 years :D I've had sd1's, last one was a 'take it before its scrapped' deal. Ratty 2600s manual, had 226000 on the clock and ran really smooth. Not far off the go of a v8 + a nice sound from the carbs. Everything worked, most of the time, just the usual saggy headlining.Never seen a car before or since with so much surface rust+ no holes.Went to a guy in wales who had 14 more...
  15. Bit of rust, bit of filler,no treatment, then paint.Bake in sunshine for a while, and thats the result.
  16. Nice birthday pressie.glad you got it, bet it sounds nice with those pipes.
  17. From the docs, its nasobec aqueous.
  18. tiptronic is alright,Quite fun bouncing up and down with ease.oooer.(i'm such a child :wack: )usual hassles if you use it too much + or believe audis 'fit for life ' oil bull****
  19. Any chance of some bigger pics please?
  20. I get recurrent bad chest/ flu symptoms, mostly caused by my sinus's getting bunged up+ inflamed/infected. nasal spray works for me no bother.
  21. Cool. get zedding then!
  22. i bought a zed last month with no logbook , did a text check+ rang dvla peterborough(my local one, like you no police interest) book arrived just over 3 weeks after purchase. If its taxed/sorned you are ok, if its not its a load of hassle as cant be taxed till logbook/reminder is in your hand. With a signed dated receipt , i dont see any problem.
  23. I saw a turbo hayabusa bike a while back, used an ice charger + water injection in the inlets. Only makes 550 rwbhp from 1299cc......
  24. i did that trying to get myself under a zed dashboard. All my weight on the corner of the sill, instant pain+ then couldnt get out.oops. Times all that helps....apart from copious amounts of alcohol.
