Starting problem...
Nice one Mark, i think we all at some time have had the odd brain fart after doing any major engine work, i remember when i changed my engine, it ran like a bag of shite until i found a couple of vac hoses under the throttle bodies i had missed and a couple of loose connectors. At the time you think the world has ended and it has blown up, sometimes you got to step back and retrace your steps and be methodical and it all comes together in the end :thumbup1:

Starting problem...
Did you put the fuel pump fuse back in? Next to the brake master cylinder green fuses.

van plus zed insurance
Done Dan and by the way you are unlikely to get a joint insurance involving a commercial vehicle, i know its only car based, but it is considered a van and therefore is a commercial vehicle and not likely to be able to use your no claims on both. I had this problem years ago when i used to lease vans, had to have a separate fully comp insurance and paid a fortune for the privilege:thumbdown: Any pics of interior yet? no hurry as im off on holiday next week, but just when you get the chance :thumbup1:

Plasma glow dial faces
I have had EL dials in the past, the white faced ones, but i much prefer my UK clocks as an update instead lit nicely with LEDs.

flashing power light.
You may be getting an intermittent problem with the box or ecu,But what i will say, that came to mind when you mentioned your headlights, there is a multiplug behind the drivers headlight, i would check the pins in the plug for corrosion, you may have nudged the plug when fitting the bulbs which would have caused the problem you are having as part of the autobox loom goes to that plug. Image is for wiring to a manual conversion, but shows the plug

hids
In the tech section, basically allowing the dipped beam to stay on when using main beam  Easy quick solution is to ground to earth one side of the hid feed (ground/earth) and although they will come on when you flash, they will stay on with main beam on.
