  1. You basically have a timing of 15deg, when an auto is put into drive the timing changes to 25deg, so by pin 44 on the auto ecu is used in the manual conversion, so that when in neutral the timing is at 15deg and when you put it into gear the goes up to 25deg, you can get a manual ecu so you dont have to bother and correct some people dont bother anyway. It doesnt affect the idle as it should be 15deg regardless, auto or manual in neutral. The write ups in the tech section explain what you need to do or show your mechanic :thumbup1:
  2. Older....older...well i never :lol::lol:
  3. Thats is cheap i pay around £230 for my N/A in a safe area of the country too, not like you scouser boys :lol::lol: will deffo give them a call when the renewal is due :thumbup1:
  4. Happy Birthday Paul, have a great day :thumbup:
  5. Happy Birthday Sean, have a good one :thumbup:
  6. No problem bud, thats what we are here for :thumbup1: when you do get sorted and go to set the idle, get the engine up to temp, plug in the consult and you are looking for around 15% on the iacv at idle.
  7. I had a similar problem a while back with my maf, when you get a replacement, also re check your TPS and idle air ratio, you wont get any realistic adjustment on the idle air with a knackered maf, so dont mess it with it till youve changed it lol, the reason for the erratic idle is the idle air control is trying to compensate and failing miserably :biggrin:
  8. Ah so i could insure one on a classic and leave my daily as is? cheers Ian will look into that :thumbup1:
  9. You two lesbicans at it again :lol::lol::lol: So how do your no claims stand in the equation? Mine is a daily driver with the other one still sorn at the minute iirc i could only use my NC on one vehicle.
  10. Yes definitely the maf is dead, with the maf disconnected you would not be able to go above 2500 revs either
  11. I think some people are under the impression that a zed is a normal car you can just run with no investment or tlc, a zed can be a money pit or can be a good purchase after investing a few hundred quid, its a labour of love and not just an everyday run of the mill wagon lol
  12. Not great news, but if the rest of the car is really good then its not the end of the world to get the rust bit sorted, i think these days you are going to be really lucky to find a second hand zed with no rust whatsoever unless its been cared for or refurbished by a member here in the club, ive seen a few on ebay now that ive never seen in the club, it seems people that have had one stored or left to rot are suddenly deciding to sell and not being truly honest in the description.
  13. Create a classified ad more people will see it as a for sale ad then.
  14. As above its the remote clutch bleed nipple and pipe, most do away with the long run of pipe in favor of a braided hose direct to the slave from the master cylinder.
  15. Happy Birthday :punk:

  22. Thats fooking painful, i had a big speaker drop from the back of the van on to my big toe and i felt the same, sick lol, couldnt do anything to ease the pain for a good ten minutes and ended up losing my nail, so i can feel for you bud.
