  1. To do the drivers side window switches: i use a 30cm flexi strip, made by prism( halfords, maplin or ebay) and wrap around the switch housing, facing in. Either hot glue or insulating tape to hold in place. The common you get from the door( screw just under the handle) and feed a live through the door from either ign ring light feed or from the light pod feed. The pass door uses 2 smaller flexi strips (that are sold to highlight the outer door handle) from the same sources, wired the same, except you can get a live feed to the door by tapping into the glovebox light. If you want them to dim with the pod dimmer then the live feed needs to come from the light pod or auto selector light feed if applicable. You can now buy the blue 12v T5 bulbs from Halfords in pairs, for the ashtray light, direct replacement. HTH Cheers Graham
  2. Where the felt on the front of the targa meets the front of the roof, tends to squeak over bumps, not squeak more a plastic rubbing noise, still annoying tho.
  3. Good luck to both of you, new job, new people to meet and a whole new social circle. Its all very well having the same job for years, with all that entails, but there's a lot to be said for fresh starts. All the best Graham
  4. Tulip wanted to see the led dash, she didnt see the link and as the post was last week doesnt show unless you do a search
  5. For Tulips viewing pleasure
  6. Hi Paul I took mine apart to recover, the only thing to watch is that it works like a roller blind and is wound up like a coil, careful when taking off one end, or you will twist your wrist lol. Cheers Graham
  7. It appears that the clocks have been replaced with mph ones, but the speedo is still reading in kph, you will need a kph to mph convertor, available from ebay at about £20 or z centre for £65, should cure the problem Cheers Graham
  8. No Probs Mark, i bet you thought i'd forgotten you eh.
  9. You will find that there are dry joints on the speedo board. The signal from the speedo, to the ecu will be intermittent which affects the power steering. If you have a kmh to mph convertor (little black box behind the clocks) that may be defective. You will need to take out the dash clocks to access the speedo board, not difficult, just time consuming. It is a common fault on these cars, but not dangerous, just annoying HTH Graham
  10. I only ever tend to see them when im not in my zed, the guys working with me say, theres a zed, i look round and miss it, good that they are not a common sight though, makes you appreciate that you have a rare-ish car.
  11. Hi Andy, not at all, everything i do on the car is for the good of the members, if they wish to make use of it. Lets face it, you dont need my permission, its not like its patented or anything lol Cheers Graham
  12. check the wires/ connectors to the ptu, which is at the front of the engine just below the left air intake. Maf (air flow meter) may need a clean ,but be careful as the filament is very delicate, and most likely cause is the temp sensor (yellow plug) on the water pipe front of engine, tends to have corroded conection, give a good clean, there are several other items it could be, but elimante these first. And welcome to the club, there is a ton of info available here Good luck Graham
  13. Cheers bud, ive tried to keep it uniform looking, but without going over the top. Cheers Graham
  14. I had a lightened underdrive pulley put on when i had my cam belt done, only problem, i get sometimes is belt squeal when cold, when i get my lightened flywheel on with the manual conversion it should be balanced and stop the squeal
  15. Who did the pods? :slap: Moi Ive done loads for other members too

  17. same here with the alarm, the funniest thing is when they try to open the door before taking the seatbelt off, nearly hang themselves, i know its probably not funny to them but i still piss myself. ( import obviously) lol
  18. Outside lol, now theres a thought.....only jokin Its only in the passenger door, cos i obviously know where the drivers one is lol, ive had a few passengers in the past that were scratching around for the door handle in the dark, which is why i decided to do it in the end. I have taken a short vid of my interior with everything that lights up, just need to find a way of uploading it.
  19. I used an smd led, which is flat, i dremelled out a hole in the plastic cowel for the led housing, ran a live feed through the door and through to the light pod, where i got a live from the lights feed and inserted a momentary push button switch to turn on. I will do a write up soon as i think it will be quite a good mod for many.
  20. For those of you who have ever had a passenger in your car at night and they can never find the bloody door handle
  21. HDMI cable does the vision and sound in one cable
  22. hdmi lead, but the sound card on the laptop needs to be set for sound out, otherwise you will only get the pic on the tv and sound from the laptop HTH
  23. Doing the led on the handle cowel is not too bad a job, but you would still need to run a live feed through the door, past the glovebox, behind the radio console to the light pod, then splice into the light feed. Not hard just a bit time consuming. I will do a little write up on how to, so that anyone wants to give it a go themselves will be able to follow the guide easily.
  24. i will take some later when its dark, so you can see it in its glory, it would probably be too distracting to leave on all the time with the side lights, but with a push button, works perfectly
  25. Ive put a low profile led in the passenger door handle trim and wired to a momentary push button under the light pod, as at night a passenger can never find the bloody door handle, when pushed it lights up behind the handle, giving a nice glow.
