  1. As above, the reason its best to do it this way, is that you dont know for sure if there is a break in the wires going to the ecu. A dodgy wire on the sensor can give the same code 34 even if the det sensor is ok.

  4. Yes TT water bypass is slightly different.

  6. I think so, the general colour was grey for most cars, but because the blue cars also had the blue dash and interior, they must have dyed the tweed to match. There are a few owners on here who have original blue cars that may have what you need

  8. Lol no mate as Dave said, the left pipe is the bottom hose if you like from the thermostat to the heater matrix, the right hose from the heater matrix going back to the rad. The branches off of the two pipes were/are the feeds for the plenum. In the pic above, they have been looped/joined to each other for ease. You dont need the branches if doing the plenum water bypass.

  10. Plenum water bypass. Less pipes to worry about future leaks. Was originally designed to warm the throttle bodies in extreme low temps, which we are unlikely to see in this country. Easier plenum removal in the future. Daz on my N/A engine im overhauling, i just cut off the branches on the rear water pipes and had them braised to seal, so you are left with an in and an out, simples! Or you could use some hose to loop the branches.
  11. For reference: if cutting the copper pipes at the matrix, i used a bosch multi which cuts using vibration/sonic waves. Cut through like butter, nice and clean and just enough room using the half moon cutting blade.
  12. Lol found em
  13. The only difference between doing it on a manual or auto, is some guides tell you its easier to remove the clutch pedal for more room. A few of us have done this recently with the dash in, do a search and you will find. As Daz said, i found cutting the matrix pipes, easier and quicker. I used 15.8mm (inside diam) hose, cut 2" and 2 jubilee clips per pipe. Use good jubilee clips, not the halfords cheapies.
  14. Beautiful, look forward to seeing them on the car.
  15. Congratulations Dave, you kept that quiet, the wedding that is, not the baby lol.
  16. You could buy a H3 and add an earth to the bulb housing, job done, readily available then from halfrauds :flowers:
  17. Happy birthday mate, hava good day.

  19. Depends where you got them from, the ones i have, you only see the leds on a white ring http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2x-70mm-Car-Angel-Eyes-light-21-SMD-LED-Ring-White-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem1e5fd80f54QQitemZ130457014100QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories The neon tube looks good, but they dont like vibration and ive lost one side. I dont want to be having to take my headlights apart everytime something blows, so leds are more reliable i think for the job. Having said that, i didnt really secure the tubes in with anything, as they seem a good fit, so maybe vibration from not being secured, by hot glue or whatever may have caused it.
  20. nice one. Mines due next week, should fly through this time:x:
  21. Firstly ive got halos, and im changing them to leds. Because they are 70mm they fit inside the projector housing, basically inside the reflective ring, so you wont see them when they are off. The resistors are built onto the board, so plug and play. Projectors dont give the spread that the high beams produce, ie scatter the light over a broader area, although some modern cars have them, would take some doing to get it to look right. HTH These are the neon tubes:
  22. Get a pic up, im sure that the velour seats were blue/grey. The tweed was light grey or dark grey from UK car.
  23. Nice one Martin, i bet you cant wait. Hopefully restore your faith in the car again once its sorted.
