  1. Would it not be easier to add or update from numbers already on file http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=148119 I dont mean add to this particular link in the thread, i will replace that with a new list when its completed or create it in excel to do a constant update and upload as a pdf file. Cheers Graham
  2. Ash it would be good to have an up to date list of common part numbers for the zed, the info is out there but if you have them in front of you on the pc :thumbup1:
  3. Yes Dave, inside the bumper, pass side. The little overflow pipe under the rad cap runs down to the tank, you should see the filler cap just behind the headlight. The coolant is dumped under pressure into the tank and drawn back under vacuum as the system needs it. The tank has a cold and hot depth marks on the dipstick, coolant should be up to one of these marks depending on hot or cold as the overflow pipe hose draws/fills to the bottom of the tank.
  4. Added http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=148119
  5. Run the engine with the heater on full so it opens the valve in the heater matrix, you would have lost a bit of water to the matrix when warmed up, have you still got your overflow tank connected? I didnt reconnect mine after the new engine went in and was losing the same amount each day now reconnected and not losing a drop.
  6. Ticking along mate, have you got yourself another zed yet?
  7. Hi Vinny, long time no hear, how are doing mate, keeping well?
  8. Also check your temp sensor plug on the front water pipes, if its corroded can be part of the cause of rough idle.
  9. I remember the sawdust option lol, but never heard of the tights one
  10. Cool, cheers Jeff, will give it a go.
  11. You must have been flogging the sky deals then lol
  12. I will get some tomorrow and see if it helps, if not then box out i guess, ive not stripped a grearbox before so will have it to look forward too, not lol What treatment would you suggest getting? Cheers Graham
  13. I bought the box from Pyronut, previously bassologist on the forum about 3 years ago, but only fitted a week before JAE, so unsure on the mileage.
  14. Its a little bit more than a small noise, im almost hearing a clatter/rattle sound. Would that mean gearbox apart to get to it? also when cold first to second is a little clunky, but thats a usual zed trait, fine when warm.
  15. A possibility i will have to look into and maybe learn from lol.
  16. Sounds like someone has tried the auto mirror fold mod and failed or there is a short somewhere. If they work off the switch fine then take off the door cards and check the plug and wiring for the mirrors. There are 3 screws which hold the mirror motor plate to the arm, if like one of mine did and the plate cracked then they might have used longer screws to hold the mirror on, but not enough to stop it wobbling. The mirrors should be solid at any speed.
  17. I had a feeling it would, just annoying as it was brand new, what a bummer, you would think buying new oem parts would last more than a couple of months.
  18. Thats great news mate, no greater feeling, well there is lol, but when it comes to the zed, nice one.
  19. Im a bit unhappy:whistling: When i did a manual conversion recently, i bought a complete new clutch kit. I noticed a slight clutch release bearing noise, which surprised me as it was brand new. It obviously has gradually got worse and i find when i come to a stop, im keeping the clutch in to stop the whirring noise as its so annoying. I wonder if i can get to it through the fork gaitor and spray some lithium grease or similar into the bearing or is it shot? I dont really fancy having to get the box off unless i really have too. Cheers Graham
  20. Thats in a sad state, regardless of time constraints i would have got it done, throttle bodies need cleaning too, bit of a mess as a whole lol
  21. I have PM'd him your email address and removed t from the thread. Cheers Graham
