  1. this might muddy or clarify things: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/aftermarket-hid-headlamps/aftermarket-hid-headlamps
  2. This. Although it might be and/or, will have to re-check the wording, which means that UK cars "might" get away with it. i will leave my ballasts in place, and just put halogen bulbs in for the test. it cant fail due to hid bulb and ballast being present, just for being in use.
  3. Sorry to hear that Ashley. I offer condolences on behalf of the club. If nearer the time you still think the convoy will be a nice gesture, i for one will be glad to attend.
  4. Indeed! I wish i had had the foresight to sort this out on my previous visits :( like the ones on the right in the picture of the MID4? :tt2::whistling:
  5. Everything you need for a plenum pull?
  6. Nice one. Are you interested in the zip line/climbing through the caverns as well Ian?
  7. i thought we all had these in our tool boxes? only the best tools should be used on our cars, right? anything less is just cowboy?
  8. you can get the extra night at a pro rata price of the deal, assuming we get 9 rooms for the deal i think
  9. While reviewing some of the calendar events, i have seen the opportunity to arrange another club event, as was also mentioned on the original thread. Original thread is regarding the wedding convoy at Beaumaris: https://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?188140-Son-in-law-of-a-300zx-fairlady-owner-in-need-of-some-help-possibly My plan is to arrive Friday night, to enable a full day Saturday of driving/touristing, and then join the wedding convoy on Sunday. I have previously stayed at a B&B on Anglesey which i would use again, and the owner is a bit of a car guy too. http://www.taldrwst.co.uk/index.htm (01248) 430291 Michael Happy to find a hotel or other location elsewhere, maybe on the mainland, but this was my initial thought. The plan for Saturday: After breakfast, a Snowdon route taking in one or more of Llanberis, Beddgelert, Capel Curig, Betws-y-Coed, stopping for lunch somewhere along the way, aiming towards Blaenau for the afternoon. These are some great mountain and valley roads with great views. If the weather is not too brilliant on the day, then we could reduce the driving in favour of activities and visit the Anglesey Transport Museum, Tacla Taid, before leaving the island: http://angleseytransportmuseum.co.uk/ In the late afternoon, i plan to stop at Blaenau Ffestiniog and visit the Slate Caverns. I intend to book the Zipworld Caverns experience for me, wife and son, which is about 3 hours of fun. This is about £65 each, but we missed out last time i was there. If anyone else wants to do that, i can try and sort out a group booking. October bookings are not able to be made at the moment, but i am watching the booking site every day ;) For the less adventurous, there is also the normal Slate Cavern tours which are well worth a visit. The cafe here is also pretty good, if we wanted more driving and later lunch before the Caverns events. https://www.zipworld.co.uk/location/detail/blaenau-ffestiniog https://www.llechwedd-slate-caverns.co.uk/ Then, an evening drive back to the B&B, dinner somewhere (or can also be arranged at the B&B), ready for the wedding convoy on Sunday. The weather "might" be wet, and will get dark early, which is why i plan to drive and see the sights in the day, and do the caverns in the afternoon/evening. Who's in?
  10. well, i dont think we will get a sudden run on friday-sunday votes, so i will confirm with Paul that we will do Saturday to Monday.
  11. designed to go over the top of the perspex strip? so you could refit the perspex strip, and paint it black to match the car rather than be perspex, so that it blends in?
  12. 13th May? will post on the calendar thread and check my diary :) are you applying for the club Chris?
  13. isn't that lettering one of the concourse show inspection items? reducing your possible points tally

  17. As discussed on the club weekends thread, please use this thread to sign up and discuss. Saturday 26th to Monday 28th May The proposed agenda for Sunday will be: 2-3 hour drive and stop for lunch. 1 hour drive and stop at Lakeland Museum for a couple of hours. 1.5 hour drive back to hotel. Will update the proposed route on maps later, but the plan is to follow Tony's suggestion. However, as Tony advises, this will depend heavily on weather, as the mountain passes may not be fun in the wet in a zed. So we may spend more time at the museum, or take more main road routes. Depending on what time people arrive Saturday, then we can arrange something for the afternoon/evening if there is any interest. Depending on what time people plan to leave Monday, then we can arrange something for the morning if there is any interest. The Fat Lamb, Crossbank, Ravenstonedale, Kirkby Stephen, Cumbria, CA17 4LL Please call Paul directly on 015396 23242 to book yourselves in, the club is not handling the bookings. There is a group deal for 9 or more rooms, but no more than 1/3 of rooms booked can be singles. The deal includes breakfast and evening meal for both days. The evening meal is from a special menu, not quite the main menu. £250 for 2 people for 2 nights. £155 for single room for 2 nights. There are 12 rooms, but if we run out we can look for an additional venue close by as well.

ok, i think Saturday to Monday is going to be the best combination for many of us, so will probably go with that, but will sort a vote on a new thread just in case. I hope to arrive saturday afternoon, and will have to leave first thing monday morning as i am off on a bike tour of scotland that week. So we also need to agree on the agenda for the weekend. TonyB, i will PM you about the route details.
  19. sorry Trish, but as Gary said, the subscriptions system is all automatic. committee only get involved if something goes wrong or payment is not done through paypal. i am also sorry and saddened that your first thought was a negative one, that it was done deliberately, and that you felt the need to attack us, rather than enquire what has happened. :(
