  1. maybe the problem was started by the Hyundai driver who tried not to park in a parking space? ;)
  2. i saw his car, and him out polishing it, around Easter time too when i was on a bike tour over there. haha, it is in a prominent position when you travel along there after all...
  3. As we were on the standby list this year, we have been allocated a very small stand, presumably from a cancellation. The stand space is 3.5m wide x 10m long, which means unfortunately it would be very difficult to find a way of putting 3 cars onto it without going outside of the boundaries, which is not allowed, and if we could squeeze 3 into that space then they would be very tightly packed together with no space to move around them. Length 4,305 mm (169.5 in) 2 seater 4,520 mm (178.0 in) 2+2 Width 1,790 mm (70.5 in) 2 seater 1,800 mm (70.9 in) 2+2 Stand 5-522, hall 5, bottom left. http://www.necclassicmotorshow.com/sites/default/files/clarion_nec_classic_motorshow/pdfs/cms_2017_floor_plan_as_at_21.09.17.pdf

  6. echo-ing Joel, those are some great times and positions. although not a runner myself, my brother and plenty of friends are, and i know the commitment you must have put in to get there  as i said, not much of a runner myself, your 6 year old could act as my park run pacer
  7. where is he going if he was already in heaven?
  8. thought so. i am in Chatteris, you would know Ryan and Leonnie (my daughter) then ;) welcome in.
  9. hi Jake, cmmoc? i'm sure i have seen your car on the modnats stand previously.

  11. people that automatically brake into a bend no matter how slow they are already going
  12. After previous discussions about selecting or voting on which cars should attend, i am surprised that more subscribed members have not offered their cars for the show? Come on guys and gals, volunteer your car if you think it should be shown, and then let the members vote. While not pristine and with an aftermarket spoiler, mine will scrub up well and could do with the extra attention to detail that i would give it if selected, as long as i don't open the bonnet  So i will volunteer my own car as well, considering i will be attending and manning the stand over the weekend anyway. I won't be upset if i don't get enough votes, because i know it is nowhere near the concourse standard of some other cars, but i would at least like to offer some competition, and so should we all!
  13. ok, if it's jumping about like that, i guess the auto-ranging is trying to determine the best value to show. but i understand the pain, because i had the same problem with some injectors not giving a value when i was tracking down a problem in the past, even though they were working fine, so we couldnt use it to determine the fault, as the faulty injector gave a value.
  14. with digital meters you should be able to set the range you are trying to read at, or have auto-range. where 200 is the range 0-200, not that 200 is the lowest value you can read, but the lowest range you can measure. what value do you get when you try and measure it?
  15. i think it will also be the 20 year forum anniversary
  16. everything is looking great and all coming together nicely considering you were running two big projects, great job
  17. the caliper is bolted at a fixed distance from the hub which is the right amount to fit the standard disks. if you want larger disks, you will have to move the caliper outward from the hub to accommodate them, there is no getting around that?
  18. i will consult the family oracle when i get home, but i should be good for this too.
  19. hi Mike, long time no see. how are you doing? didnt miss much at JAE, noone goes anymore. there are other better shows and events around...

  23. Fixed fog lamp switch connectors as a fuse in the footwell blew every time it was switched on, forcing lights to main beam. Turns out, 2 of the 4 connectors had been swapped around, but looked ok depending on which way up the switch was... Must have been working for the MOT last month, so can't see how this has happened unless the garage had it apart for some reason? Also replaced a blown HID ballast, possibly as a result of my mucking around with lights today to fix the fogs, tracking down the fault. Also, disconnected the aerial, since it's bent and only extends a foot or so, and the bezel won't unscrew to replace it, it has been superseded by a dab one. Garage that MOT'd and serviced it last also seem to have reconnected the stock boost solenoids, maybe over zealous in putting it back together and didn't take note of what wasn't connected... Forgot to unplug them today so will be sticking with stock boost until I can be bothered to open the bonnet again, lol. Might need a pointer to where the passenger side one is located.... So a lazily productive day, haha.
