1. you will not tighten that bolt and forget about it if you don't fit the washers Lee... you will soon get a reminder
2. mine looked like a barn find under the bonnet last year when Jimmer visited the stand and wanted to have a look  my car always seems to have straw or feathers stuck on it somewhere whenever i turn up at a meet
3. it will be so nice to see this in person soon. been a fantastic journey to follow
4. some nice little bits of detail here, and its great that you still remember some of the things you planned to do from so long ago :)
5. Sorry to hear that Stephen, and thank you for everything you have already done. We have all seen the general decline in community and increase in apathy, particularly around events, with some members posting about events and not even getting a reply on those threads. It is difficult when you have to organise 6-12+ months in advance, and receive no interest until 6 days in advance. I cannot offer any real insights into why this is happening, but myself and the committee are continually trying to find ways to keep the community spirit engaged, and trying to organise events for next year. I hope you manage to stay engaged enough to come along to at least one of them.
6. looks like a great day was had :thumbup1:
7. Maybe a rough guess at what area they came from when you post them up will help, if you can remember
8. have a discounted ticket code here for any members wanting to come along. also, if you give us the ticket stubs, i think we can also claim something back from them after the event.
9. new tyres are new tyres if they unused, regardless of their age. for competition and track use, then how they are stored is important, as it could severely affect performance, especially 'wet' tyres and more so on bikes. this happens a lot with the online discount tyre retailers, as that is why they get offered cheaper than "new" stock but for general car road use, then that sort of age should be fine as long as they are not cracked from bad storage. how many miles are you likely to do? if they are not likely to be on the car more than 2 years, then i think they would be fine.
10. we have to spend some time arguing about the vote first, that the 38 voters do not represent the feelings of the 100's of registered and subscribed members who felt that the outcome was a foregone conclusion and now suddenly realise that we have a load of sheds on display this year
11. As previously mentioned, am closing the poll this evening as of now. Unfortunately, i did not put a closing date when creating the poll, and cannot edit it to close it properly, so it will be a manual close. I have taken a screenshot of the vote counts which will stand as the final result. Congratulations to JaiKai, bird, JoelyP and GSC. Was a hard fought poll, with GSC and AndrewG neck and neck most of the way, and a surprise to see Joel coming along in 3rd place this year. Andrew and Ian, it would be appreciated if you could keep yourselves on standby with your cars, in case of any unforseen issues? For all 6 volunteers, you should have some information from me regarding the logistics of the show. I will keep the thread open for a short while rather than close it, but as said, new votes will no longer be counted.
12. why not hold a vote first to see if there should be another vote?
13. Ok guys, we will close the poll Sunday night 23rd as voting seems to have slowed down. We have a tie for 4th entry at the moment, so will open a tie breaker poll if required when this one closes. Will be in touch with everyone regarding the logistics after that.
14. open the boot, pull the carpet back and check in there
15. i will bring my orange wing repeaters with me so that you can swap the clears for the important OEM look :)
16. i think it’s great that 3 of the 4 cars have not been before. its nice to see more cars of a high standard, but also nice to see people vote differently
17. sorry to hear of your woes, and the subsequent stupid argument down to the nitty gritty items of no real value. some of the lawyers actually encourage this tiny level of detail so that any movement is seen as a compromise, when in fact its just dragging their "billable time on case" by another few hours of correspondence. i think you are right, and agree with Jeff. it's a breaker at best at this point, as the only thing usable sounds like the shell and a few add-ons. as a SWB manual, it could be considered as the more valuable of the models by some, but only within the small Zcommunity, not on a large scale classic car collectible basis. get some pictures, and also go to ebay, facebook, etc and screenshot any adverts you can find for other shells, or breakers, include some completed listings, to give a view of what others have actually sold for. You will most certainly find some for £200-£400 i reckon. this is the same type of activity you would take if you wanted to up the value for an insurance claim on a good car with low payout, just in reverse to give a truer and more accurate valuation of a shell. best of luck
18. give it a couple of weeks :) i messed up a few things settng this poll up lol
19. i thought i had selected multi vote, but obviously not, and cant see how to edit it now without removing and reposting. but even so, the top 4 will be selected, and any tie breaks can be managed by another round?
20. Voting Closed at 20:37 23rd September and any further votes will not be counted. Final results screen-captured and posted later in the thread Poll closing on Sunday 23rd September. 2 months now until the show. While we sort out the stand details and H&S requirements with the organisers, we should sort out the display cars as well :) 7 volunteers from the previous thread https://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?189320-Lancaster-Insurance-Classic-Motor-Show-with-Discovery-NEC-November-2018 : With the stand lighting build, information stands and person space, 4 is likely to be the maximum that could fit comfortably based on the mockups in the other thread. So if 5th 6th and 7th are happy to remain as backups and keep the time free, that would be great. I will be in touch with you all later regarding attending the show, fronting the stand, etc.

Ianl Blue Convertible Clean OEM example

JoelyP Red 2+2 Clean OEM look with custom colour

GSC Yellow 2+2 Clean OEM example in rare colour

Craig Blue 2+2 Last option standby

AndrewG Blue 2+2 Clean OEM example

JaiKai Purple 2+2 Recent groundup restoration and rebuild. 21. Hi Danny, the selection really depends on your capabilities for working on the cars yourself, or how deep your pockets are, e.g. budget for repairs for £4k you could get a really really good N/A that should give you fairly trouble free motoring* for £4k you would get an average TT which would need some dedication to get it to a decent standard for trouble free motoring*, or may have some neglected servicing behind it which might bite you later. *or as much "trouble free" as you can get with Z ownership at least....
22. i cant believe that the period OEM look the owner has gone for is spoilt by the addition of the later model rear lights i can help the owner put that right and do a fair exchange
