Guess it all depends on what you want..... an Evo will not be able to overtake an even slightly modded Z on the 0-60 run and after that its a questio of waving bye bye Think about the number of times folk try to get clever with a Zed at the lights Vs the number of times it happens when you are already moving.........I have never been challenged from the lights by anything but on the move, all sorts try their hand.

Just read the report on the new Evo VIII. 0-60 in 4 secs? My Zed will not do that but I wonder whether even the most awesome beasties on the forum would. Bet Maccas' wouldn`t (especially not right now) or anyone elses. What do you reckon is the best 0-60 a Zed could come up with? I wouldn`t have thought that with a road setup a Zed could do better than 4 secs. All that power and those poor rear tyres. Whaddya reckon, should we proud Zedders concede defeat to a poxy 2ltr turbocharged rally derivative?

So true... All you TT owners out there, just try the 0-60 run while keeping your boost gauge on 0. It is scary how fast these cars go without any boost. And after 2 years of ownership I am still too pussy to put my foot flat on the floor......never done it, mind you, I`ve never been overtaken either, at least not when I didn`t want to be overtaken! When my speedo was dicky I took the old thunder to 130ish (private road) and the old girl was asking me how we got to 90mph so fast! I love the Zed!

Anyone care to explain the principle here? Mazdas new RX-8 seems to develop ridiculous HP from its 1.3 litre rotary engine. Seems good to me... comments?

Was talking to the wife about the whole firework thingy. She hails from the States and even over there in the land of firearms at Walmart, fireworks are only available to those holding certain certificates and only from authorised fireworks distribution centres. Agree with all who think access should be restricted. Fireworks are VVV dangerous and the idea that people can obtain them freely is quite disconcerting.

SO very sorry to hear about your suffering. As great as life is, it sure has some srange lessons to teach you sometimes. I went through a series of poor/meaningless relationships that caused me a great deal of pain before I met my old girl. I had to travel over 3500 miles to find her but finally, after all the hurt, I was lucky enough to get her. Think what I`m trying to say is don`t give up. I know its fine for me to say, I`m not the one who has just split up but I have been there often enough. I honestly feel for you and hope that one day you may be as lucky as me. I chickened out of doing mine in the end. Took it to an auto electrician, fitted the TPS then got them to set it to my peferred voltage. The cost? well, sonce it took them all of 2 minutes.....nothing! Boom Boom! Some things can go your way sometimes!

The company I run relies upon the wishes of the few to look after the needs of the many. God knows it can`t be because of the wages I can afford to pay them. Get one. Take your time, make it a good one and spend time on taking care of it. It should gove yo no probs. Had mine for almost 2 years and the only reliability prob I have had is a broken battery. It is vital though that you get a good one to start with. I was lucky, knowing nothing about Zeds and dropped onto a pearler. Not all are so fortunate. Get a good one, take care of it and you will be Zedding until the North Sea is dry. Best of luck

I test drove a Supra before buying the Zed and chose the Zed over the Supra for one important reason: The Zed has prescence like no other car I have ever seen. Not looks, not speed, not noise, just an overall prescence. Look at a supra and you know what it is straight off. Look at a Zed, especially an import with no Nissan badges and it is anonymous to nearly all and sundry. My Zed is lightly modded to 430 ish bhp but why bothered I`ll never know.I`m just not a road (private of course) racer. I simply love cruising in this car and could not get the overall wow effect of the Zed with a Supra. This is why for me the Zed wins. Sure there are faster cars, sure there are cars than handle better, sure there are cars that look better (but not many) but for an overall (so far) £8K investment, I have a car that has more overall appeal (to me) than any car I could buy for under £100K. And no matter how wealthy I become, I will never buy a £100K car. The Zed IS my ultimate dream car for so many reasons and I would not kick mine out of the garage for anything. This is just me and if the supra, Evo or Scooby boys feel this way about their cars then all power to them. Different horses for different courses and all that. Best wishes all Steve

F`ing right! Had a quote of £1450 from Lifesure and had to guarantee a max of 6K miles for it too. After reading on the forum, I called Carole Nash and got a quote pretty near to the 350 mark myself. Also means that suddenly I have full NCB on my daily driver. And CN have also slapped breakdown cover on the policy too, something I did not get from Lifesure even with their quote which was almost £1,100 dearer.

Stop messing around and just buy a new TPS. I did this two weeks ago and it solved very one of my engine niggles. I also installed an new IAA unit for good measure and now my Zed is idling as smooth as can be. Each case is unique of course and my TPS connectors took a hell of a lot of cleaning but with the new unit, my old thunder is sweeeeeeet once more. Can`t wait until it comes out of its wrappers next year to try it out on the road.

Lets be honest here....no porka owner has the guts to take on a Zed on the road...the cars are too similar in their ethos and it would take a damn well modded porka to take out a Zed. Respect in all camps...apart from the hairdresser sort who seriously thought her boxter was a match for my 13 year old heap. Yeah right! Best of all was a hazy "baby on board" sign in her rear window that I saw while turning into my lane. Baby on board? The bitch was trying to keep up with me at over 100mph! Baby on board? Takes the pisss Fair thee well...

Arse! Bring it on Pork I`m not into the whole Pork Vs Zed thing.....different cars for a different purpose IMHO but this lame Zed tosh you keep spouting really winds me up. About 300 yards from my offices used to reside a 2001 Carrera 2. About 3 weeks back, the owner of this fine automobile thought he would have a stab at my Zed while I was innocently driving home. Short to say that at the end, the guy pretended to turn down a road (I know he don't live down) because his porka couldn't take my "tired" old Nissan. That man now has a 1998 import coming from Japan in 4 months. Nuff said. He made a bucket of money getting shot and will still be riding in the cockpit of the finest rwd supercar ever released to the public.

I have a stage 3 auto import. I happen to be lucky enough to live near to one of the country`s finest MOTEC sites, offering full skidpan, test strip and rolling road testing facilities. My car has had its 0-62 mph tested over an average of 3 runs the overall figure being 4.56 seconds and maximum power at an average of 423bhp at the flywheel. As much as I can say really. If you try to fully excercise a Zed on the "normal" open road, chances are that you will mangle it. This is a straight line supercar that handles itself through the swirly stuff. If you wanna know that you are driving a car that no-one can overtake on a straight road, get a Zed. If you want a car that no-one can overtake on urban or country windy bits, get a ferrari or an evo. Personally, I just love cruising in the Zed. An evo is so fuvk ugly you can recognise it. A ferrari there is no mistaking but not many people know what a Zed is all about and more importantly what it can do to you if you p*ss it off. Nuff said.

Been looking at ebay uk and am really worried about the price of these things lately. Almost anyone with a spare grand and a half can buy a supercar it seems. Not having a go at the principle, just that even after driving rwd cars for 6-7 years or so, my Zed has plenty of surprises up its sleeves. To be able to get hold of a brute like a Zed for so little surely means that we will be seeing more and more write-offs and ever escalating premiums as a result. Or maybe its late and I`m a bit moody......?

Anyone here? I just can`t believe it....maybe you were just passing through but it is so good to see another Zed so close to home!

Would like to say thay I`m married to am American and well..yup Stereotypes fit both sides of the pond on the whole but there are a few over there that are utter stormers! My best mate in America is the editor of a newspaper in PA. He is the smartest guy I have ever met and utterly human with it too. Others are so typically American it makes me cringe, including my wife`s twin sister who refused an invitation to come over earlier this year because of possible repurcussion of the 9/11 thing. Some are stars but in my (extensive to date) experience, most are pretty much of the opinion that if it don`t happen within the US then it don`t happen. Take care all! Steve

Just wondering..... anyone here been roadkilled by another car? I usually rely on the Zeds awwsome looks to scare them off but just now and then a lesson has to be taught to the boxter and M3 brigade etc....etc.... You ever been had by one of the competition? As yet I have not m time will come suppose but I would love to be trashed by a Zed more modded than mine rather than a Porsche or Lambo. Be honest here guys.....
