  1. To their credit..... They did say a week at least but lo and behold if I didn`t get a call at the office earlier to tell me it was in.....woo hoo! So I bought a multimeter and naow have both sitting in me garage while I work out if I have the bottle to try it myself. My Zed is pissed.....don`t think it likes me very much right now:(
  2. Dunno about Andy but maybe a good present for you might be a spellchecker. BTW Mr Moderator, when the hell am I gonna become a suscribed member? I sent my cheque months back, even before the forum became a club! Sorry for my ascorbic tongue....its been a tough day.
  3. Yeah and manuals are better cos they have five ratios? Joker! Anyways, with lock-in, autos have more selection than manuals! BTW, I will be converting to manual early next year (thanks Jeff) because I think my auto is on its way out and I hear manual boxes last longer. I will miss the auto though. Somehow my car feels happier with the auto box than the manual I test drove.
  4. I like it better with the line...... Damn good job we`re not all the same or there would be a bunch of clone looking Zeds out there! Hope it goes well
  5. Oh yeah...forgot to mention that you will need a perspex cover. Luke does em with or without a brake light. Sorry for not mentioning (slinks away with head in hands).
  6. I change my oil every 8 weeks (which for me means around 300 miles max) and if I leave it much longer, I get very much the same response.....my oil stinks. To add to this, I don`t use the turbos much (30 year old grandad you see). When was the last time your lube was changed? Maybe its just down to this. My Zed don`t use or leak a drop but it is very hard on its oil.
  7. Nope. Deffo....certainly...absolutely....at least I think so Just had my low level spoiler fitted (phwoar!) and that awful rubber monstrosity removed. I needed no skin, the holes were just filled and sprayed over. Can`t see it would be any different for yours. TBH I thought the skin was just for owners who decided they did not want a spoiler at all. Could be spouting a pile though.....just what I thought. HTH Steve
  8. Think you are right Danny I`m on Netscape in the office and had problems just as described At home I`m in IE6 and have had no probs at all Best of luck Steve
  9. Thanks Danny! Can`t do this Sunday as Nissan said there are none in the UK and have to order from Japan (YAWN!) Bottom line is that they said it would be a week. I`ll mail you when it shows up if that`s okay....as I said, any and all help appreciated. I`m still planning to buy a conzult from you anyways. Thanks again Steve
  10. ermm....well......yup Got the tech article from tt.net. Will ignore my stupidity and forge ahead Thanks Steve (any encouragement welcomed as this will be my first DIY job on the Zed)
  11. ...change the TPS without buggering up my Zed? Will I need a Voltmeter afterwards? Or does merely asking this question mean I am too clueless to give it a crack in the first place?
  12. Hey.... FG stuck my 99 spec front bumper on and did an unbelivable job of fitting and blending the paintwork in. I would recommend Frank deffo and will be using him again. The shop associated with Zedworld put my new rear low level spoiler on and a very good job was made. I have noticed (on very close inspection) two tiny runs but overall a very very good result. If you didn`t know any better, you would think the spoiler was standard on the car which ain`t bad, especially considering the mess left behind after removing a 13 year old oem rear spoiler. I am happy and would certainly use again. Never been to PPS HTH Steve
  13. The issue with Slick 50 etc is that after use your engine will require slightly higher revs to get the same power output. Looking at the articles, I chose to take this option If you want your Zed to be all out power then don`t do it. However, if you can take having to put an extra 50-70 revs to get the same output while knowing that your precious engine and turbos are protected at startup then go for it. IMVHO, the pros outwiegh the cons. I have had no problems with my slick treatment to date. Hope all gets sorted for you.....
  14. finally got my idle probs nailed down to the IAA unit. Had a chat with Luke and he reckons its a common failure.....maybe worth a pop if all else fails.
  15. Tell me about it. When you can get a Conzult unit better than the one Nissan use for the price of 4 hours labour, what can you say? Was quoted (ahem) £394 inc VAT for a new IAA unit. Got one from Andy Z for £40. And when you stroll into a main dealer in search for a Titanium key to be told (in order) i/ I need to get shot of "that old thing" and get a 350Z ii/ Titanium keys were never issued for the 300ZX HELLO!!!! The SOB even had the brass neck to ask me if my car was a Nissan after I wandered in and said I wanted a part for a Z32 NUFF SAID!!
  16. Anyone here had failure in one of these? Right now, the Zed can vary from 1900-800rpm at rest. Plus, the engine can rev as much as 3.5K before changing up with very little throttle. Sometimes ot changes up normally and other times I have to put the auto into hold just to get the car to change up at sensible revs. Does this sound like the IAA unit to you? Luke seems to think so but I`m not sure I explained the problem very well to him. Any help VVVVV much appreciated as I do not want to think it is the box starting to fail......I only got the car back on Saturday.
  17. Gotta go with you there. Got the Zed back today and a tit top came past the opposite way, stopped, turned round and hung on my rear end for 15 mins before stopping me. His excuse? you're gonna love this one.....possible reversing light failure. HELLO!!! I was going forwards.....might explain the lack of a reversing light! First time I`ve really benn stopped in the Zed too. Still, didn`t care......I'm a cheshire cat lookalike right now
  18. It always good to be outranked ;) In case tolerances aren`t in limits though, Tamworth is fairly close Gio: Hope yours is up and rumbling soon!
  19. In light of recent threads What is the one defining thing that makes you grin most about your Zed. My starter has to be this: Pulling into a supermarket car park about 3 months back. Two guys getting out of a twin exhaust modded Ford Ka mouthing.."What the fu*k is that?" My fave.....the anonimity....folk just do not realise what they`re messing with.
  20. At this short notice and with your location, the best chance you got is Jeff at Zedworld (on the traders forum) He is pretty good at pulling miracles out of the bag. I`m off down there tomorrow to get mine back.
  21. I love the fact that where I live there are NONE (apart from mine) I am a happy grandad when driving most of the time but exactly HOW GOOD does it feel to wait until the prat in Beemer/Merc/Scooby/whatever makes his move then plant the pedal and see him left for dead. I LOVE that.....LOVE it. These cars are the best. 13 years old and I would not swap it for a brand new Ferrari. I wouldn't. I love my Zed. It is the most unfeasibly fast, heavy, fast and drop dead gorgeous car I have ever owned. God bless fossil fuels, ma they live forever so I can still kill th opposition when I`m a great grandfather Yours sincerely, one infatuated Zed owner who is getting his back from Zedworld tomorrow)
  22. £103 +VAT Quoted from Inchcape Nissan Telford Just on your behalf........ Thought I`d try to see if Nissan main dealers reckless profiteering days were over (quote was for a J-spec BTW)
  23. The fact that I have not had mine for weeks...new seats and rear spoiler being fitted. Its about my luck that we have two heatwaves in one year and I didn`t get to drive my Zed roofless in either of em. BUG*ER! I really did not like that!
  24. Had an unbelievable experience when taking the Mrs down to the New Forest for our anniversary two weekends back Travelling down a dual carriageway and sees a sign saying that the outside lane was closed 800 yards ahead due to roadworks. You know the score....titwads ananymous then immediately speed down the shortly ending lane in order to get further ahead in the queue. About 200 yards before the outside lane ended, I was sitting behind an old Pug 305. The traffic slowed to a halt and the old boy driving the Pug swerved out into the outside lane. "Idiot" thinks me, assuming he is going to try the outside lane dodge. Anyways, the traffic starts going again and he returned to the inside lane. This confused the pair of us to hell until the trafic slowed to a halt again and...yup...the PUG swings out into the outer lane directly in the path of a Beemer screaming down the outside. Mr Meemer manages to stop (somehow) and old boy in pug starts waving arms, fingers, etc. Mr Beemer was bout to get out of his car and lay one on the Pug driver just as the traffic started off again. Following this, the Pug drove in the middle of the two lanes just in order to stop Mr Beemer and his bretheren from getting any further ahead....for he next 180 yards! I have never seen anything like this before......talk about an old boy with the courage of his convictions. If his actions weren`t quite so dangerous, I may almost be impressed.
  25. I have a Canon BJ-10 and have had this problem before. I just replaced the pront head. They are quite cheap compared to the price of a new compact printer. Got mine for around the £32 mark and with two free cartridges too. Not sure if Canon were so kind with all their bubblejets. Might be worth a try though.... HTH Steve
