  1. Anyone use the M25 between 2.30 and 6pm on a Friday between the M3 and M26? Got to get to Folkestone for a train to Le Mans at 18.03. Picking someone up at 2.30pm at Bracknell. Reckon we'll make it? Ta.
  2. Got camping tickets!!!! Out of the way campsite , but will make it over to Haux Annexe on Friday night. Will be travelling down with 3 people in the Zed! Luckily I'm driving so I won't be the one crammed in the back.
  3. If it's too late for Zovirax and you have a cornflake, I use J Pickles colsor lotion. It dries it up really quickly; it also stings like buggery so you know it's doing good! http://www.health-store.co.uk/acatalog/Pickles.html
  4. Got tickets Andy? I'm getting a really bad feeling about this now.
  5. Nice one. This is my first time there and it's being organised by someone who doesn't do it very well. We have no tickets to the circuit, we haven't booked a campsite in advance, and will be travelling down on Friday, getting there, maybe between 6 and 8pm. What's the chances of a) getting a campsite within 10 miles? b) seeing any of the action c) sleeping in my Zed in a layby near Alencon?
  6. As title. Anyone going? I'll be going in a convoy with some lesser vehicles and will spank them appropriately.
  7. OK, cheers for that. I suppose I don't want to squeeze the life out of the gasket, so it makes sense really. Ta muchly.
  8. OK it's not a Zed, but I'm just replacing the exhaust manifold gasket on my Rover 820 and Haynes suggest a 45nm setting for the nuts and bolts to do it up. Does this sound right to anyone? That's barely on! Cheers, Matt.
  9. Does the govenment think we are an unending source of money? They are turning the country into a rich mans motorway, where only the great and good can waft down the road in their huge cars while we are stuck in our ecoboxes. The rich can continue on through London where the average motorist has been priced onto the buses or tubes. They are also taking money from the normal working people and giving it to the work shy binner council estate scum with 8 binner yob kids. I hate everything this government stand for. God I'm depressed, think I'll go and sit in the corner and turn myself off.
  10. Don't run it too long, just till the idle settles down a bit. Last time I did it for a few mins, it set the Carbon Monoxide detector off in the house! I had a similar problem when I first bough the car, but a good clean of the throttle bodies sorted mine out.
  11. At the time I was buying - a 200sx or Fiat Coupe 20v Turbo. Now if I was to get rid, a Volvo 850 t5r or Rover Mini cooper. Strange.
  12. I've seen a silver 350z with a bonnet bulge outside a garage in Pinhoe. Is that the one? Usually a Bishi GTO out the front as well.
  13. Yep - sounds good. Doesn't seem to be many Zeds around Devon so it'd be gopod to get toghether, I'll have a look at which weekends I've got free and we'll try and sort something out. Suppose it would be good for any meet to go in the SW meets section. Any SW meets arrangers around? I feel better now anyway, had a curry and a couple of beers, talked to the wife who is strongly against getting rid, so maybe I'll have it a bit longer! BTW any caravanners around? Keep the hell out of Devon this summer! That's all I need!
  14. Course I overtake when there is an oportunity, but I get resigned to the fact that my ENTIRE journey will be nipping in and out, blatting past one or two, then back in then out again. I've driven through France twice and you don't have to search for good roads over there, it's a lot quieter and for some reason you're not made to feel like a criminal if you're pushing on a bit. Last time I belted back north to meet a ferry, leaving an hour or so for getting booze, betwen 80 and 120 for most of the way, where can you do that here? That's the sort of driving I want to do, not in out in out in out, that's for home time and entertaining the wife.
  15. What the point in owning a performance car these days? Certainly around where I live near Exeter. The roads are full of doddery old cnuts, petrol is expensive, hedges are high so you can't see to overtake. A trip down the coast is restricted to perhaps one or two golden boost opportunities. The best roads are restricted to a PC 50 mph. Feck knows why. It feels so claustrophobic. Just got back from a trip out and about, lovely sunny day, tops off, tunes on. Most frustrating drive ever! As soon as I even think of putting my foot down a bit, I catch up with a line of traffic going 40 in a 60 and I know if I overtake this lot there'll be another lot aound the corner. I still appreciate the Zed as a thing of beauty and I've wanted one, probably since mine was built in 1991. I love seeing on the drive , cleaning it, hearing it start, but at the moment it ends there. If I could sell it for 4.5K I'd probably take it and buy a Volvo and potter around with the rest of them. Or maybe even a fecking Daewoo! Or a Kia fecking Magentis. Yours pissed offedly - Matt.
  16. No modifications. Just fits in fine. It's not the most clever car seat in the world, but it lasts from 20kg to around the age of 6! THe Halfords fitter was quite happy with the way it went in.
  17. Just bought a Britax Elite car seat, fitted in the back and front of my (UK) Zed very securely. The only one that would.
  18. Yeah - cheers mate. It's new but not oem. Am going to get a Greddy one off Chris I think. Old one seems to have solved the problem for the mo.
  19. Just overheated twice within 10 miles. Drove home, 4 1/2 miles temp gauge was hot as I pulled into the drive. Put about 5 litres of coolant in. Drove back to work, overheating again, really wet on the top right hand side near the radiator cap, also onside wheel arch very wet. It's a new rad cap, I suspect this is the problem, but could a dodgy rad cap, if it's releasing it's pressure too easily empty a radiator in under 5 miles?????? Or could it be a symptom of something else? Thought there may have been a lot of condensation coming out of my exhausts this morning - am desperately hoping it's not a head gasket. How do I check this? Cheers for any help, Matt (stranded at work - nooooooooooooooo)
  20. Was that your silver Zed bombing it south from Collumpton last Sat? If it was, that was me and the wife in the old white Rover giving you the thumbs up :D
  21. Someone quite a while ago now posted a vid of about 3 zeds with different exhausts. Anyone got it hanging around? My standard one is getting very close to developing a hole, a couple more weeks with the salt shaker should do it :nono: so I'd like to hear the difference between them again. Anyone else recorded their Zed's note? Taaaaa.
  22. 'Fraid I don't know mate, they were just on a big pile by the entrance. JBL's are quite well known for their punchiness though.
  23. You're a bit out of date there mate, Suprnova.org has long gone, as have lots of other Bittorrent sites due to threatened legal action. It was great while it lasted though, according to a mate ;-/ Anyway, http://thepiratebay.org is still going, with loads on there. They are in Sweden and simply refuse to be shut down by the American Music industry. Exeem (not exceem which is a rip off) supposedly replaced suprnova, but I have talked to a couple of people down the pub who haven't had much luck with it. Other torrent sites: http://62.212.84.218/index.php?ip=62.212.84.218 http://www.novatina.com/ http://www.snarf-it.org/ But beware if you bittorrent properly, you upload as well as download, which usually adds to your monthly ISP limit.
  24. Just thought I'd let you know, my local Halfords had JBL gto936 6x9 speakers for 34.99 from about 60 quid. May be good for a cheap upgrade. Link here: http://www.halfords.com/opd_product_details.asp?id=19139&type=0&cat=44 I wanted some, but didn't get them for a good reason (where's the "under the thumb" smiley???)
  25. Thanks for all the relies guys, never broken a bone before, so don't know what to expect. On a slightly different note, for all that's said about the NHS, I've had nothing but fantastic treatment. :hyper:
