  1. Yeah - but I'd buy a boost controller and chip for that much money!
  2. Indeed - just been looking around and you can get a 24v Makita for 475 quid! Just wonder about some of max torque claims for the cheaper ones: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Rolson-24v-1-2-Cordless-Impact-Wrench_W0QQitemZ8041292912QQcategoryZ30900QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Wonder if that max is only for 0.2 of a second before it blows up. A bit like cheapo Hi-fi saying 400 W (PMPO max power and smells of burning). Still - not a huge amount of money to risk.
  3. Hmmm - looks pretty good! - Up to 160 lb /ft and no compressor to buy. Hmmmm.
  4. Cheers John, What PSI compressor do you have? That gun goes up to 90 psi.
  5. Quite fancy one, but not sure how powerful to go? Would this one (up to 230 ft/lb) suffice for most (simplish jobs) jobs on the Zed? http://www.machinemart.co.uk/product.asp?p=000310096&r=2017&g=103 Thanks, Matt.
  6. Nice one mate. Shocks and springs next? Look forward to seeing (and maybe experiencing!) your n/a. Cheers.
  7. Are there any parts I should buy to replace while I do my suspension? Like bushes, wearable parts, nuts / bolts that shouldn't go back once removed? Not talking HICAS arms or big parts, just stuff to replace once removed. Cheeeers, Matt.
  8. I used to enjoy the "road kill" section! Saw off a MB CLK320 today. OK not exactly fast, but he tried it on and failed miserably! Any more tales of heroics today?
  9. I think I'll give this to midday tomorrow. No new news and I'll start shopping around. Anyone.......................?
  10. I think I've got to give Chris the opportunity to say yay on nay to this before I talk to Luke. Don't worry Tony, I know where you are coming from.
  11. So that's only 4 of us left! Is that enough for the GB to continue? Please let us know ASAP!
  12. Maybe you were never a fat lad. Concentrates the mind.
  13. zclub=a bit quiet ujcc = too many civics and mr2's! Next :D
  14. I think just a bike doesn't always get you where you want to be. When I was 15-18 years old I cycled at least 100 miles per week, including 50 on a Sunday club run. And I was still a fat lad. Took to the gym when I got to uni, 3 times a week, and despite drinking my own bodyweight in booze for the other 4 days a week I soon turned from pear shape (with fooking good legs) into some semblance of a triangle. I don't go to the gym for aerobic, that's just sooo boring, but weights are a different matter.
  15. I've decided I'm not using the internet to it's full capacity. Every day, these are pretty much the only sites I use: 1) 300zx.co.uk 2) pistonheads.com/gassing 3) news.bbc.co.uk 4) google.co.uk 5) ebay.co.uk That's it! Anything else out there worth looking at (I've already seen all the porn)?
  16. Just bought a set of these as well. That price seems too good to be true, but we'll see! Now for the Eibach springs!
  17. http://www.300zx.co.uk/tech/manual/manual/efec/012.gif I was trying to use this to do my Smithy vacuum line kit, but as it resembles a good spag bol it didn't help me much. Anyway, it may help you.
  18. Sounds like a plan. No-one except me has looked at my Zed in the last 2 years. Which is scary!!!!!! How long will your engine mods take? My next work is the springs / shocks, maybe HICAS arms. Maybe I'll chicken out and get Ryan to do them. Oh - and got to get my 99 spec rear spoiler on. Money money money.
  19. Cheers Greg. I'll try and match them up. Was just standing there hoping for inspiration! Couldn't find any pics on Smithys site.
  20. So I won a vacuum line kit in the raffle  No I come to fit it and am standing in front of the engine bay saying ermmmmmmm. Is it essentially all the lines on this: http://www.300zx.co.uk/tech/manual/manual/efec/012.gif Anyone got a piccy of theirs done? Cheers, Matt.
  21. OK I'll wait and see then! Should have a disclaimer on it "not suitable for dirty cars".
  22. Well I heard great things about it, and I got the set for Chrimbo. Tried it today. Rinsed, turned the nozzle to shampoo, hardly any foam comes out. Then it tells you to rub the "foam" with a sponge. Which, if your car was very dirty like mine, means shifting one lot of dirt from one area to another. To alleviate this you have to regularly rinse the sponge (which was icy this afternoon) and because there wasn't much foam I couldn't really tell where I had and hadn't been. Then when I thought it was clean, I rinsed with plain water then ionised water. "Watch the water come off in sheets" it says, well loook at the attachment, just like normal. Chamios territory definitely. It's now 3 hours since I cleaned it and it's still really wet. :headvswal So overall, it saved me no time, :smw: and I got colder hands than with a bucket of nice hot soapy water. Not impressed. Am I using it wrong? :smash: Matt.
  23. I'm on hols next week, won't be able to get to a PC until next Friday evening, so 1st Feb would be good for me too. I've just got the wife saying yes to the springs so can't miss out on this one!
  24. But the eibachs lower a bit don't they? So won't my front camber be out?
  25. So do we need a camber kit and a full alignment group buy as well?
