  1. Audi RS2? If you can find one - they are around 15K. Friend of mine took me out in this S2 the other day, felt nearly as fast as my stock z, but with a lot more room inside. RS2 has another 100 BHP on top of that (315), does 0-60 in 4.8. 0-100 in 13.1 And it's an estate as well so labradors are an option.
  2. This Sunday I'm about to do my first lot of stuff to my new Z. Had it about 2 months now, has done 60700 miles, and am going to do some stuff myself to stave off some cost of the next MAJOR SERVICE. So I'm planning to change the oil, using Castol RS 10-60, new filter, new sparkies, at 13.50 each (bloody hell WTF) and change the manual gearbox oil. Any of u here have any tips to make it all go smoothly? I intend to replace the pluggy wotsits when I change the oil (sorry I just had my work crimbo dinner and am vocaburarly challenged) and the pluggy wotsits when I do the g/b. Any tool sizes would be good to know. And another thing, since owning my zed I've never seen another! I get more recognition when I drive my Rover 820 to work. Where are y'all?
  3. Connect both PC's via a CROSSOVER cable, this is important if you don't network through a hub. Took me a week to find that out when I did mine. I have Win98, networked over TCP/IP. I think you right click on Network Neighbourhood, click properties, go to TCP/IP networking properties, assign a random IP address, up to 0-254.0-254.0-254.1-254, eg mine is 100.100.100.100 and my other pc is 100.100.100.101. Give them a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. Give your PCs a name eg PC1 and PC2 and a group eg HOME. Press OK then let windows do it's work - you may need your windows disk for files to be copied from. If you have a firewall - you'll have to configure it to let the other PC in. There are lots of websites around dedicated to networking, put in 'peer to peer network' and 'crossover cable' in a Google search and you should get some. Linux is easier. With XP you may need 800 more mouse clicks.
  4. Was travelling down to Yeovil from Bracknell between 7 and 9 ish in the evening. Mine's got a private A plate on it temporarily, as I've just bought it off someone. Also if the passenger was looking a bit apprehensive - that would be the wife. Can't stop booooOOOsting whenever I have the opportunity. Saying that, I usually remember people passing me on the inside (or on the outside even thse days) - bloody cheeky IMHO.
  5. Thanks - very useful. Will try changing the bulbs before I worry about relays or other bits. Still that's an hour job for me, whilst turning the air blue. Cheers.:)
  6. Had my 91 Z TT for - ooh about 6 days now, a UK supermodel with big curves, 58000 miles, FSH. Dream of 3 years finally come true. I have a couple of probs I'd like to sort though. First, after a weekend of boosting around on Optimax, it's started to idle around 1800 rpm some of the time - sometimes it doesn't. Previous posts suggest resetting the ECU and cleaning stuff, so I guess this isn't normal. Anythink simple I can try? as I am, when it comes to looking under the bonnet. Secondly, headlights. Bulbs OK, Fuse OK, but offside headlight, only the 'rectangular' light shines, no round light. On high beam, everything on the offside (except light on bumper) goes out! Any help appreciated muchly.
