  1. :D Yep get a spray that your missus may use for ironing or spaying flowers, spray water on THE CAR, wipe on, wipe off, even shine, very good Daniel San.
  2. On the recommendation of this forum  bought some yesterday. Blo*dy Brilliant Stuff ! The Zed hasn't ever looked so good. (Doesn't show very well, but that's cos it's shining sooo much! and my digi camera is also sh*te) If you have some, I'd recommend following the instructions and spraying it with water and giving it a final polish, makes it really even. Buy some!
  3. Thought it was a switched earth  , but I could well be wrong. I did a bit of measuring with my voltmeter, and got 2 pins that were permanently live, ie withought the lights switched on, and thought the earth switched to complete the circuit when you turn the lights on, activating the relay. I've looked at the wiring diagram, and apart from reminding me of spaghetti, didn't do me much favours. Cheers, Matt.
  4. Hi mate - it was the one in the engine compartment, but soon realised the holders come out the BACK of the plastic frame  Found the easiest thing to do is undo all the clips and slide the plastic thing off the front. Cheerz, Matt.
  5. Just saw the back of your Zed going up the hill by Sainsburys as I was going in. Anyone here?
  6. My OSF dipped headlamp is not working. Bulb OK, fuse OK, tested Relay - OK, but the earth does not switch "on" when it should do, hence the failure. It's a black and pink cable which disappears from the relay pin "1" with all the other cables down the front of the car. Anyone know where that little cable goes next? To another wiring connector? To the H/L switch directly or somewhere else? Any help appreciated. Cheers. Matt.
  7. Am not getting any power to my LHS Headlight fuse. Can the individual section with Horn, RHS, and LHS Headlight be pulled from the front of the fuse box? Have tried taking out the white slidy thing , pulled back the clip, but it won't budge. How are the wires attached at the back? I'm worried it I pull to hard I'll feck it up. Cheers, Matt.
  8. Most people have an inflated opinion on how well they drive, so they drive fast 'cos I'm a good driver me. That was me until I went to a couple of track day/ rally schools with professional drivers and realised how sh*t I was at controlling a car at high speed compared to them.
  9. I love 50 Zones in roadworks on motorways! Get a huge a mount of traffic up yer arse by going EXACTLY 50, when it ends, into 3rd and foot to the floor. Funny they ain't there any more! Good sport.
  10. Nigel, which make/model is it? My wife is due in August and although we have a huge Rover for most of the time, it'd be nice to know it would fit in the Zed as well. Cheers, Matt.

LOL! HUUGE alloys and drum brakes - my particular favourite.

I've never read anywhere that the Mitzis are any good as a drivers car. Words like unemotional and robotic spring to memory. Performance Car magazine wouldn't even list it because they thought so poorly of it. Zeds better Zeds best.

Devon Eh? Me too, near Exeter and Chopper, who's in Torquay I think. Not many more I know of. Mini Devon meet of 3 Zeds?
  14. Cheers guys! Found it in the end.Job went OK. Needed 1/2 litre approx. Only bad thing was when one of the diff fluid bottles exploded as I squeezed it in! Messy and very gloopy, lucikly missed my brake discs. Connections to oil cooler OK, definately a leak from the front seal :-( In on Monday to be fixed anyway! Cheeeerz.
  15. Hello, Spending my Fri arvo under the Zed, just to check.. the diff oil filler is on the RHS of the diff, looking from the back of the car, and is only about 2 inches above the drain plug on the LHS? Cheers, Matt.

Follow the "all models" link on this page: http://www.carsfromitaly.com/alfaromeo/index.html then SZ and RZ. Bit of tech info there: 0-60 in 7 secs.
  17. Vijay , if you do this, remember not to be in gear when starting! Ouch! :mac1:
  18. I've got a copy of a 1993 What car which quotes a UK TT Auto as 0-60 in 7 seconds! Dead chuffed when I bought my S13 that I was as fast as a Zed.
  19. Quick national search on autotrader, 15 manuals, 53 autos (using manual and auto as keywords), so there's many more autos out there. If I would have found a great auto when I was looking for my manual, I would have bought it, then argued the t*ss that is was superior ever since! Quick grab of my kn*b in the morning makes me feel great!
  20. Maybe they rebadged it after they saw what had happened! :D
  21. Bodysnatchers. And to make the noise, shut your kn*b in a door.
  22. Now lets see, me on my 23lb mountain bike vs a 1500+kg Z car. I think I know who comes off worse if they come together. If a cyclist doesn't look over their shoulder when going around cars and gets hit, that's the fault of the cyclist is it? Not the Tw*t in the car behind who a) didn't see the parked car b) see the cyclist and c) put 1 and 1 together that the cyclist may have to go AROUND the car and not wait for high and mighty car driver to pass. If cars passed cyclists with more than 2 inches between the handlebars and their wing mirror, going around a pot hole wouldn't be such an issue. Not all car drivers are bad. I know I'm not :D , but a lot are. Very much the "I pay my road tax to own this here stretch of tarmac, so you cyclist f*ck off 'cos you delayed my trip to the little chef by 2.37 seconds." variety. I have 2 cars, pay 2x road tax, cycle to work because I don't want to die of heart failure at 47. When I do drive to work I, luckily for me, don't feel it necessary to be an impatient as*hole. Matt.
  23. It passed the MOT! No probs, even the borderline front tyres which I though would be it's downfall! That means I'm out for a burn come Sunday. Dry, with lots of cold dense air to get into me intercoolers. I love this car. Bye. (Happy Matt)
  24. No - lasted 17 secs then threw my monitor out the window.
  25. Oh Sh*t that's the wife. Better go and see if she's still there, she'll be a bit peed off by now.
